Locust - H Automated Mining

Description
No Mods. Truly Automated Mining Ship. Ever wanted a small army of ships smart enough to mine for you? Wait no more. This miner doesn't simply mine a straight line until it breaches the other side of an asteroid. It Mines through and reorients to mine more and more. It will also halt its progress if a collision is predicted and resume once the collision is no more or it will get bored of waiting and back away until it can resume elsewhere. It will also avoid players and user controlled miners. This avoidance system means multiple Locust - H can work together in tight spaces, and even work with players nearby(not recommended, you might hurt the locust).

IMPORTANT: With the addition of building from a projector, please ensure that all blocks are completely built before use (using the projectors control panel). There is a 5x5x1 section between the rear 2 cargo containers that contains gyros, sensor, timers and conveyors, which are absolutely vital for proper function. There is also a rather complicated section in the front near the drills. I have had MANY complaints about improper function that have been resolved by proper projection completion.

When enabling and disabling, the thrusters that are used to power automation are "booted"(overrides increased/decreased) up or down, so that you have all available thrusters when user controlled.

Specs:
Small ship, Heavy armor cage
4 Drills
3 Large containers
Remote control(for deployment, retrieval, and manual use).
Forward and reverse cameras.
Ore detector and forward spotlight, for deployment(disabled during automation for power consumption)
All user commands/settings are contained in the groups at the top of the control panel and are preceded with a "-", as well as on the hotbar during remote control.
You can leave them unattended.
Much cheaper than planet eating large ships.
Many complicated groups and timers and sensors that handle the brains of the ship and shouldn't be used manually.

User Commands/Settings
I would change the Shipname under the Info tab to Locust - H1,or H2,etc

-Antenna -SetOwnership : You will only have control of this ship after you set the antenna's ownership to ME(you).
-Cmd Disable Auto -Trigger: At anytime you can disable the automation manually by triggering this group, or by pressing the 9 key during remote control.
-Cmd Enable Auto -Trigger: When clear of objects that sensors could detect as collisions, Trigger this group or press 8 during remote control to activate the automation. It will take about 3 seconds to boot up the thrusters.(WARNING pressing enable twice in a row can cause bad things. If so, Disable then re-enable).
-Remote Control -Control: Press control to enable the remote control, and hotbar.
-Setting AutoShutdown: Change the delay to the length of time you wish this ship to remain active. You can turn it off to make it remain active until you disable it(not recommended because it can mine ores even after containers are full and waste ores. Also it can run out of fuel, better to do so while stationary).
-Setting Max Avoid Time: ONLY change the delay. This is the time it will pause before reversing away.
-Setting Max Reverse Time: ONLY change the delay. This is the most time it will reverse before resuming forward, shouldn't be low because this can disable the forward avoidance. It is mostly a safety feature for a seldom occurrence when the ship tries to fly away.

See 2nd video for Deployment and Retrieval info.
Deployment:
Use an antenna to access ship controls. Use the remote control to ensure the Locust is far enough from any object that will pause its movement, and that it is pointing toward an asteroid(can pass by it close enough to trigger reorient), and then enable it.

During mining process:
Sleep, build, whatever.

Retrieval:
After the autoshutdown sequence has triggered or ship is manually disabled. Remote control the ship using its back up camera, dock and unload,
OR swing by with another ship and extract the ores, WHILE LOCUST IS DISABLED, not during an avoidance phase.
Don't forget to refuel.

So thats why its little booty jiggles after mining

@wircorel, im glad that it's spirit hasnt died., And someone is getting some use. I too look back at the early se days with love.

This is the source of inspiration for my own miner series.

Unfortunately this ship (and many others) were designed before Keen added cargo mass to the game and, therefore, it does not have enough thrust to move even when partially filled with ore.

For myself, I had to completely redesign my miners at that time (2015) to have many more thrusters and the needed power available.

I look back on this blueprint with nostalgia.

I just slapped a small reactor on it as a spark plug then removed it so its all good

I love this thing but my only problem is when it runs completly out of energy you need to destroy a few blocks to put fuel back into a reactor, unless theres a hidden direct fuel port on it.
Worth the hassle tho.

Thanks, I learned a bit workign on it,

Mmmk, so that is tested in creative. I'll have to test in survival, and I'm probably going to need to write a guide for setting up the actions in survival since building from projector does not quite assign everything correctly.
