Introduction
For those, who are pretty dissapointed by "Hello Neighbor" franchise, with cartoony graphics, annoying AI and too much platforming segments in release.
For those, who wants to see more than two floors in Alpha 1.
For those, who are endlessly beat old alphas for god only knows how many times...

...I highly recommend you these mods, which will satisfy your needs!
"The Neighbor's Comeback"
First of all, I recommend you "The Neighbor's Comeback" by AuoZone. This is fully completed Alpha 1 with the basement & all floors, recreated from the concept arts of the developers of the original game.

Although house is massive, the neighbor remains a significant obstacle until the very end of the game. Despite that fact he is not annoying, he's walking on all of the floors, his AI is pretty advanced, and the neighbor himself does not put a million cameras in one place, like in release version. The puzzles are intuitive, I beated mod without any guides. It was very interesting to explore the house, solve puzzles and hide from a neighbor who can actually scare you sometimes!

I got so much joy while playin' it, just try.

"Hello Neighbor: Alternative Reality"
"Hello Neighbor: Alternative Reality" by NateEMG.
This mod is very, very different from any Hello Neighbor stuff, because it is more horror focused game. Puzzles are different from the ones we know, they revolve around objects and their interaction with the environment (colorful table lamps, paintings that need to be turned over). The game consists of several acts:

Act 1 is basically a house from an early version of Alpha 2 (Alpha 1.5). A cramped house where a neighbor is constantly walking around. But there are completely different puzzles here, not like in Alpha 2.

Ą̶̧̥͑̂c̵̖̔̂͜ţ̵̥̜́ ̴̘͚̎́1̴͙̈́̍.̵͉͎̃5̷̪̝̥̈́́́ The Fog Is Coming...

Act 2 is the house from Alpha 1, but it's not recreated from early concept-arts. But it's not bad, because we already have fully recreated Alpha 1 house in the form of previous mod, so it is pretty refreshing. The neighbor cannot go above the third floor, it's a little shame.

Act 3? The third act is essentially the ending.

Yeah, this mod does have its own storyline and unique puzzles! Yeah, there's more than a two characters, and yeah!, there are several endings here! And also, the mod stands out for its fear, what is it?
The fear lies in:

1. Darkness. All locations are dark, and the main item for you will be a flashlight. There is an opportunity to sleep in the game, but if you go to a neighbor during the day, it will start to rain heavily, which will be darker than the night. And sometimes it rains at night. Have fun!
2. Ambience & Environment. There is always a hum in the building, the rooms are cramped, and the lighting is harsh. All this creates the feeling that the neighbor is always there, as if he is always behind the player's back.
3. Hardcore. One thing multiplies all of the above and always keeps the player in suspense. This is a difficulty. When a neighbor catches you, not only do all the items from your inventory disappear, but all the puzzles resets. Caught by a neighbor? Great! Everything from a scratch.
But for a 𝓹𝓾𝓼𝓼𝔂 players there's an easy mode. Come on, turn it on, yo slob. 😭

The mod is very good and stands out among other mods trying to horror. The sequel to this mod is being actively developed, which will not be based on the original Hello Neighbor 2.

"Hello Neighbor Old Style"
But what if you are a unique representative of the HN fandom? If for some reason you like the release version, but don't like the cartoon style, then this mod is for you!

Mod "Hello Neighbor Old Style" by Missing Entity.
The mod leaves the plot, puzzles and mechanics like in the release, but completely changes the art style of the game to a realistic one! Also, there are some old mechanics from the old alphas added in this mod and... I basically have nothing more to say, this mod looks beautiful, and thanks to Missing Entity a lot for his effort put into this mod!

4. Start Hello Neighbor and select the "Modding" tab. In "The Neighbor", select "BP_Sosed_OldArt", and for "Level", select "TNC_START_HERE".

5. Select "New Game" and press yes to both messages. This will start a new game with the mod.

6. If you did all this correctly, you should be on the title screen for "The Neighbor's Comeback".

Here's what I did to install "The Neighbor's Comeback":

1. Download the zip file from Moddb.

2. Copy/move the zip into the "Mods" folder inside the Hello Neighbor file directory (it should be at "Steam or SteamLibrary > steamapps > common > HelloNeighbor > HelloNeighbor > Mods", and you can also right click the game in the library and click "browse local files" to get there).

3. When the zip is in the "Mods" folder, unpack it by right-clicking it and pressing "Extract here" or "Unpack" (I use WinRAR so it may be named differently for you). You should see a folder saying "TheNeighborsComeback" and then inside it should be the "Content" folder and a uplugin file. This is how you know you installed it correctly.
