Hyperaptors themselves
Introduction
Hyperaptors, spelt with one R and also known as Winged Dromaeosaurs to humans, are the dominant species on Raputoru. They are currently ruled by King Leaflet and Queen Maple.
The Hyperaptors are the only (fully) sentient species on Raputoru, but are split into 17 Elements, each looking wildly different and having some defining personality traits.

This species is free to make Fancharacters of, but please read the fanart permissions on my account before doing so.
Description
Hyperaptors bear a great resemblance to Earth dromaeosaurs, but have a couple differing features.

Hyperaptors have red tongues that are forked. They have cat-like pupils. They lack an iris, instead having a fully-coloured sclera.

Hyperaptor’s most defining feature is their large, avian wings on their backs. Their wings connect to their arms, and have a differently-coloured top part compared to the rest, referred to a Wing Stub by the Hyperaptors. While it’s normally hidden, small spikes hold up the feathers in their wings. Their wings face up when not in use.

Hyperaptor wrists can rotate like humans, and they have three white talons—with small ‘fingers’ attached to them—on each hand, as well as a talon at the back. Their feet have four talons, with one being a sickle claw, and one at the back for balancing.

Hyperaptor’s tails are as long as the rest of the Hyperaptor. They always have three large feathers on the end; these feathers are rather large, don’t naturally fall out and are quite rooted in place. If the Hyperaptor happens to be a royal family member, a white triangle will be present of each feather. Female royals do not have the triangle, and will not pass the pattern genes down.

Hyperaptors have feathers that cover their whole bodies. The colour depends largely on their element, but their wing stubs are always the same colour as their three tail feathers, and their lower wing feathers are always the same colour as their eyes. Their patterns vary greatly.

Hyperaptor eggs start off as white with lighter speckles, but change to a colour signifying the Hyperaptor inside’s Element the day before hatching.

Underneath their feathers, Hyperaptors always have dark gray scales. Their eyelids are also grey, and they have a transparent third eyelid. Feathers are naturally gradually lost in old age. They are overall burlier than other dromaeosaurs.

Below is a list of all Element colours.
Plant—Green feathers, sometimes autumn or brown colours. Pale green or pink eggs. Will grow plants on themselves in older years.
Insect—Varying, often shiny feathers. Orange eggs. Insectoid wings, like houseflies.
Ice—White or blue feathers, often very light. Sky eggs. Ice spikes on themselves.
Stone—Dark grey to black feathers. Dark grey eggs. Dusty.
Iron—Desaturated neon-coloured feathers. Light grey eggs. Tail barb.
Dragon—Varying, often neon colours mixed in. Dragon wings. Neon blue eggs.
Air—Light grey feathers. Wind seems to pick up around them. Medium grey eggs.
Electric—Purple-, pink- or violet-coloured feathers. Sparks sometimes bounce across them. Purple eggs.
Dark—Black or very dark coloured feathers. Trails dark behind them. Black eggs.
Light—White or very light coloured feathers. Trails light behind them. White eggs.
Toxic—Green or lime feathers. Goop drips from them. Lime eggs.
Fire—Red, orange or yellow feathers. May ignite. Red eggs.
Sand—Yellow or gold feathers. Dusty again. Yellow eggs.
Water—Blue feathers. Fins between arms and legs. Blue eggs.
Magic—Varying. Patterns glow upon successful spell. Pink eggs.
Crystal—Pink or green feathers. Crystals grow on them. Forest eggs.
Plasma—Mostly unknown. Trails yellow behind them. Blue and yellow eggs.
Diet
Hyperaptors are carnivorous, but their specific preferences depend on their residence.

Plant/Insect Elementals don’t have specific preferences; they’d just eat whatever.
Ice/Water Elementals prefer seafood.
Stone/Iron/Dragon/Air Elementals prefer larger game.
Electric/Dark/Toxic Elementals will steal from ‘lesser creatures’.
Light Elementals seemingly almost never need to eat.
Fire/Sand Elementals prefer carrion.
Magic/Crystal Elementals are similar to Plant/Insect Elementals, but are more violent.
Abilities
Hyperaptors are rather agile, and have near-human intelligence. Their sharp talons and teeth can slash through even scales, and their tails are able to move sporadically. They can hold things humanly, and have good night vision due to their sharp eyes. Specific Elements have specific powers;

Plant—Will grow plants on themselves in older years, causing a number of buffs.
Insect—Can fly in place, but makes an annoying buzz.
Ice—Ice spikes on themselves, ineffective in warmer climates.
Stone—Can stay extremely still, even not blinking...
Iron—Tail barb made of metal, which is as a sharp as a talon.
Dragon—Can fly faster than others, and often stronger.
Air—High endurance.
Electric—Can sense where lightning will strike and can teleport with them.
Dark—Can perfectly see no matter the darkness (Excluding space IG).
Light—Unaffected by bright light (Like, can look at the sun without flinching). Can flash certain scales on their bodies.
Toxic—A toxic goop drips from organs along their spine. This lime goop can hurt or even irreversibly deform scales, and can be fatal if it penetrates scales.
Fire—Immune to fire or high heat, and can ignite small flames. Harmless fire will also ignite if anger sets in.
Sand—Can burrow into sand without suffocating or suffering other damage.
Water—Can breathe underwater, and a natural swimmer.
Magic—Hard-to-activate telekinesis; many believe they are unpowered.
Crystal—Crystals will grow on them, causing a number of buffs.
Plasma—Mostly unknown. Extremely powerful according to old records.
Society
Hyperaptors have a largely different society to humans. Never turn your back on a Hyperaptor... literally, turning your back and sitting uprightish is one of the rudest things you could do. Don't touch it either.

Hyperaptors do not use currency, instead often stealing or getting things themselves. They rarely bargain due to their antisocial nature. However, the town of Social is weakening this. Parents usually teach young Hyperaptors, called Hyperlings, about the world before leaving them to learn themselves. Friendships may form between Hyperlings, but they rarely continue into adulthood. Royals are often shielded into the palace for safety.

Hyperaptors often do not have clear places of residence, with adventurous spirits causing this. Preferred areas depend on their elements.

Hyperaptor pairings often don’t last very long due to their inner violent nature. Two eggs will always be laid; one will hatch a couple minutes to a week before the other, known as the older sibling. Siblings will have deep bonds even after adulthood and conflicts. They may have grief even if they barley communicated, were enemies or had to kill/injure the sibling. Adoption does exist, but is uncommon. Hyperaptor mothers often name their kids based of the element colour from the egg, but they may name themselves. In a rare case, a miscarriage will happen or an egg will remain unhatched, causing the survivor to feel incomplete.

Hyperaptor citizens are often ignored by the king other than the rules they must follow. Despite this, most citizens are usually content with life. Life differs largely between citizens. Only Hyperaptor princes can become rulers; if a princess kills the king, the prince will ascend the throne anyway. Queens are often stereotyped as “only existing to make heirs”, but they may give suggestions for rules and general “kingly things”.

Hyperaptors often write on soft yet preservable materials like clay or mud, which are left to dry out. They shape them into wonky rectangles and write both non-fiction and sometimes fiction. Referred to as “tablets”, they are popular and “libraries” are dotted around the continent. They include “fairytales”, history documentaries, ability and disability guides and weakness guides for themselves.

The language the Hyperaptors use, simplified for convenience.
(WIP)

Hyperaptors do not imprison others, they often kill/injure them or leave them with a warning.

Hyperaptors believe the Royal Staff, only held by the king, has magical powers that will shape him into a better ruler. Many also believe that souls are placed into new lives over and over in a never-ending cycle. If one's death is deemed unfitting by Them, they will not reincarnate, rather haunting those who have wronged them until vengeance is extracted. Then both will pass on.

Body Language
Hyperaptors will point their arms at something to emphasise something about it. They also facepalm. They use shushing gestures, and tap their talons to portray impatience. They may draw shapes in the air, and a throat-slitting gesture is a warning sign or a way of indicating death.

A Hyperaptor flicking its tail at something means an urge to go there. A still tail means shock, and a tapping one indicates happiness. A slowly sweeping tail is a warning sign. A drooping tail is a sign of tiredness or occasionally sadness.

A Hyperaptor flapping their wings without flying indicates panic. Drooping wings indicate sadness, and spreading them without flapping or gliding indicates protectiveness or warning signs. Quickly placing a wing over someone’s face means they’re trying to make sure the covered one doesn’t see something.
Raputoru
Introduction
Raputoru (pronounced rap-ooh-tour-ooh) is the only known habitat of the Hyperaptors. Raputoru is a large continent with largely differing biomes; the Icy Tundras, the Buzzing Forest, the Shadowy Toxins, the Windy Cliffs and the Flaming Desert. Humans have reached the continent, but are not a native.
Description
Raputoru is a large, roughly oval continent. A river cuts through the continent.
Blurred areas are unexplored or private, but there is definitely something there.

Icy Tundras
A large tundra covers the east side, which is barren due to a previous ruler decimating it, save for a couple trees. A thick layer of snow covers the ground, enough that the sharp rocks below are barley noticed. The water around it is frozen. The temperatures are freezing; Ice Elementals can tolerate it easily, Fire and Sand Elementals have been known to die from it and other Elements are discomforted.

Buzzing Forest
A large forest covers the north side, which is populated by dense forestry; trees as tall as Earth skyscrapers (in the USA, mind you). Dirt covers the ground as trees block much of the light, and fallen leaves cover the ground, along with bushes and grasses that were 'stupid to try and grow down there'. The trees are so thick and strange that non-Plant/Insect elementals have trouble navigating them. North there is a village of Sticklers; the second-most intelligent species.

Shadowy Toxins
The south-east side is covered by a large cloud that never moves. The grass is black and storms always surround the area. Small lakes are contained in craters thought to be from a meteor shower. The waters connected to it are highly toxic; enough that only a set amount of creatures can survive. Dark and Electric Elementals find it home, but others feel a 'natural-seeming fear and sense of strangeness.' It's unknown whats on top of the cloud...

Windy Cliffs
The south-west side is a grey area covered in giant grey spikes, said to have been shaped by gods. Water is scarce, appearing only on the ground. Caverns are strange, and mysterious yet inviting. Stone, Iron, Dragon and Air Elementals fly around, giving the vibe. The ground is unpopulated, and waste-land like. A sinkhole is in the centre, leading to the Magic Caverns. There are light grey, reflecting metal tips to the spikes.

Flaming Desert
The west side is covered by golden sand dunes and a deathly heat. Plants are scarce, but animals somehow thrive feeding off each other. Water is basically nowhere, and lava replaces it often. Skeletons are frequent, and fires have been known to start out of nowhere. The sky has a slightly orange tint, and clouds are a no-go. Fire and Sand Elementals call this wasteland home, other Elementals are discomforted and Ice Elementals have been known to die from the heat.

Crystal Caverns
A large cavern, covered in purple, pink and green crystals. Water flows out of the walls and the brightness gives a unique vibe. Crystal and occasionally Dragon Elementals fly around. The grey stone is rough and capable of scratching you easily. The west side leads to the Labyrinth, a maze that can bring you to the Magic Caverns if navigated. It's said dangerous things lurk here, but nobody knows what...

Magic Caverns
A strange cavern with lakes of various colours, and pedestals with odd symbols. It's said this is where the Elements originated, and Magic Elementals populate the area. An odd feeling surrounds you when you enter, and it's said even greater magic used to be here. The area is rather barren, yet inviting...
Notable Sections
Palace
The place royals reside, it is a large, multi-roomed stone structure that rises above the terrain. It's said it used to be less plain and more populated, but these have degraded. On the left, you can find Social, and on the right you can a find an odd structure belonging to [invaders].

Social
A recent town, inhabited by Hyperaptors, trading and other 'social' things happen. Houses are made of wood with viff ladders. Stone structures are also used. A library resides in the centre, run by Electro.

Trivia
-Hyperaptors can have similar mental and physical disorders to humans. These include Narcolepsy, Anxiety, Polymelia (for example, Bumble had four wings, but two were small and rather useless) and Bipolarism.
-Hyperaptors are completely unfazed by blood and gore, and may even enjoy it.
-In the rare event a non-elderly Hyperaptor is featherless, they will be shunned, have trouble controlling their temperature and will be almost unable to fly, even with wing feathers.
-The planet Hyperaptors reside on is located in the Andromeda Galaxy, in a similar place to Earth.

These guys are HEAVILY incomplete and always will be! Suggestions are welcome!

Add a desc of the land they live in, what kind of biomes can be found in it, and where in this land the different species and factions of Hyperaptors prefer to live.

I made a fanmade Hyperaptor that's on the Workshop. I read the terms of FC creation and agreement, and I don't think I'm outside the dotted line.

I want to become a Hyperaptor. Is there a template on the Workshop?
