Finding Unofficial Translations
Currently, unofficial translations are distributed via the official Discord server.

1 - Join the Official Discord server
Multi Turret Academy
https://discord.com/invite/CJUuE5ZSbH

2 - Add the Localisation Forum to your channel list
This channel may or may not be hidden by default, if its not hidden you can skip this step.
Navigate to Channels & Roles, Discord hides unused channels here, so if anything is missing you can find it here.

Then enable the channel.

The channel should now be visible under the unofficial category.

3 - Find and download the translation you need
Choose the translation you want and download it, at the time of writing the translation forum is not very active so some translations may be outdated or non-existent, feel free to make your own translations or update existing ones!

Translation files are stored in TXT files.

Next, using the translation
Using Translations
1 - Find the downloaded file
Navigate to your download location and copy/cut the TXT file.

2 - Navigate through the folders and place the file

Open the game folder as shown below
If you're in compact mode, right-click on the game and a similar menu should pop up.

A folder like the one shown should appear in your file explorer.

Then navigate to the localisation folder.

Put the localisation file you have downloaded into the last folder.

3 - Apply the translation
Note : The game must be restarted to use new or updated translation files, otherwise problems may occur.

Open the language settings and select the language you want.

If everything is correct, the translation should be applied.

Making Your Own Translation
First, we need to create a new localisation file, then update it according to a few basic rules for our own translation.

1. Create a new localisation file

Create a new .txt file in the localisation folder, do not modify it yet.

Then run the game, wait for the main menu to load and close the game.
This should fill the new .txt file you created with all the lines in the game.

2. Translation rules
There are few indicators that you need to pay attention to when translating.
These are:
  • variable names at the beginning of the line, you should only translate the part that comes after the '='.
  • Line Reset to reset translated or untranslated lines back to original, Remove during and after translation. (This : <EmptyText>)
  • Variables like '{0}' should not be changed and can only be moved around.
See the image below for a visual guide
Make sure you do not move the lines as the game does this automatically, if you do it yourself the translation may be broken.

3. Modify the new file
Follow the rules above and your translation file should work fine, for languages that use "%" before the numbers for percentages, there is no way to change its position at the time of writing this guide.
If you're stuck with the translation, the best tool you can use is the DeepL Translate[www.deepl.com], It is easy to use and better than the Google alternative.

Using DeepL to translate a line from English to Turkish, you can easily rephrase or replace words by clicking.
4. Final product
To use the translation, see the "Using the translation" section.

Below is an example of a translated file, be sure to remove the <EmptyText> at the beginning of each file to avoid losing progress on your translation file!

An example of an untranslated and translated file

Test your translation in-game and, if you like, share it on the Official MTA Discord!
Troubleshooting
Problem : Text is inside eachother at some places!

Example of a broken translation file

This is due to unwanted newline characters in your translation file, so make sure that your text editor doesn't put newline characters at the end of each line.
Final Message
Please remember to be respectful and friendly on the Discord server!
