Step 1: Turn off a whole bunch of options in the Enhancements Menu (except ONE)
What you want to do in this step is to turn off a bunch of options in the Enhancements Menu
The options that need to be turned off are
1. Use 3DO actors
2. Hires Textures
3. Lighting

There is ONE option you need to turn ON and that's the Classic Game Balance
Step 2: Load up the original maps in the game
For some very cool reason Nightdive shipped the original maps with the remaster probably for modders to study BUT you CAN use them in the remaster too.

All you gotta do is go the game's launch options and add this command
-kpf ogpcmaps.kpf
Step 3: And you're done!
Congratulations you did it!
You have now completely transformed the game back into the way it was on PC/Mac back in 1996
Enjoy your quasi-official modded experience

@StixsmasterHD4k Wait can you set the mods in-game with the "mods" folder?

it covers all the textures and HUD stuff and atm working on the sprites

you know you can get the original maps to load without any command line editing? just move the kpf to a "mods" folder without the quotes and launch the game

Would I still be able to earn achievements when using the original PC maps? I'm thinking of doing this for second playthrough and want to know if I could also finish off those.

Another nice touch is to lower the resolution as much as possible so it becames a little blurry, and disable the crosshair.

Just discovered the game, loved it on the steam deck.

Some of those render issues are artifacts from the original PC port as nightdive provided them as is

I have noticed that there some rendering issues while using the original maps, for example the lighthouse cellar's boxes aren't fully rendered.
