First, preferably save a game close to a vending machine. Then, go to a vending machine and purchase clothes you don't own, refresh the stock (50$), rince and repeat until you have purchased all you can. Sell all your gear/items (or most of them) if you are short on money. Then, go back and press E on a mirror or item box to store/save the clothes, DO NOT SAVE, then reload your game, rince and repeat the whole process as per needed.
This will actually save the purchased clothes on your profile, and by reloading the game you will still have your money and items as you had them before purchasing all the clothes.
