ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤThe human whose name is written in this note shall die.

This guide will assume that you're running with the default room settings. By default ID theft (When you stand close to someone for long enough and the bar fills up) is automatic.
There is an alternative to this setting that changes Kira gameplay significantly is the toggle which disables automatic ID theft. Take special note of this, as it changes your whole mindgame play entirely, however for this guide we will assume that ID theft is automatic.

From the lobby, this setting can be viewed here:
  • Room Settings
  • Detailed Settings
  • Team Kira
  • Toggle Automatic ID Theft
IF THIS SETTING IS SET TO ON, THIS MEANS YOU CAN TOGGLE WHETHER OR NOT YOU WANT TO STEAL IDs.

The game is still very new, and this guide should only be a baseline to formulate your own schemes to bring about a New World Order.

Below, any mention of just "Kira" means the player who has the Death Note.
Kira's Follower will be addressed as just "Follower".
Basics
Kira's objective is to kill L or get 100 points to achieve a New World Order.
The Follower objective is to aid Kira in achieving the same goals.

Kira and the Follower both have a Shinigami which directs them to players who have come into contact with more than 1 player.

Kira can only kill a player if they have their ID or if a player's name was made public in a meeting and getting arrested.

Kira or the Follower can steal IDs from other players by staying close to them for a set amount of time. Remember that the action of standing close to another player for long enough will alert them, an observant Investigator will note down the people who they come in contact with. Which is why it's important to use a Shinigami to try to target players who have already come into contact with as much people as possible, making it more difficult to pin down who exactly stole their ID.

Kira and their Follower, much like L, have ability cards that can help them create situations where they can steal IDs more reliably without getting caught.

Kira can give the Death Note to their Follower, this action is visible to all other players.
Opening the Death Note is visible to all other players.

Both Kira and their Follower have a permanent red arrow points towards the other's location.
Both Kira and their Follower have access to a "transceiver", giving them a private communication line.
Kira Gameplan Basics
The easiest path to victory is killing L, this incentivizes Kira to kill as many people as possible, but going around stealing IDs and killing people randomly is a surefire way to get caught.

The safest way to play Kira is to steal IDs from people who have come in contact with multiple people, your Shinigami will fly towards such players and have a purple aura around them.
Stealing IDs from such people is ideal, as they can't instantly pin the blame on you.
Another ideal candidate for ID theft are people doing Kira Command Card Tasks, as their screen will be obstructed while doing it, making them unable to see you. And usually players will flock to these tasks and do them together, making things easier still.
As you try to steal IDs, make sure to keep up appearances by going to task locations and opening your Investigation Notepad, as it shows the same animations as if you were doing the task.

That however, is the most basic gameplan of an aspiring Kira player, while it will be very effective in inexperienced lobbies, you'll start running into more astute investigators who will ignore Kira Command Cards, and will be very conscious of their distance to other players, especially L, an ideal L will be the most protective player of their ID.

Kira can only kill 2 players each day, so stealing more than 2 IDs without a plan is risky. Kira's kill priority should be:
  • L
  • Confirmed Investigator
    • From L's Vindicating Evidence
  • Secondary confirmed Investigators
    • Confirmed by all means except a label, such as if they find an ID on a Follower's arrest
  • Anyone else
Give special attention to the Confirmed Investigators, having them live for too long will allow them to build trust to more investigators than you can handle in time. Kira can Judge L's Vindicating Evidence NPC before it confirms any Investigators, this is ideal if you can pull it off stealthily.

As the antagonist of a social deduction game, lying will be a big part of your gameplay.
Your basic repertoire of lies should include
  • "My ID got stolen."
  • "I've only came into contact with X and my ID was stolen!"
  • "X can confirm me!"
  • "I had a task to return a lost item to X"
    • Useful for a single ID transfer
  • "Hey X, why did you run away from Task?"
The general guideline for a good lie is to facilitate a scenario where you are an investigator, notice how all the lies above are things normal investigators would say!

As you Judge players and criminals, you wanna make sure that you're not seen, not only other players, but from cameras as well. As the round starts, three rooms will have cameras installed in them, they're obvious in the ceiling, and L has access to them at all times.
Follower Gameplan Basics
As the Follower you can't kill people, but you can steal IDs, your objectives include stealing IDs and handing them to Kira for Judgement, cast doubt between other players and instigate arguments that waste time. Stealing IDs as the Follower follows the same logic as Kira's.

The Follower is Kira in all ways except having the Death Note, so the gameplan is similar, and ultimately, they're a scapegoat.

If Kira is likely to be arrested, the Death Note should be swapped to the Follower, the game only ends if the player with the Death Note gets arrested.
If Kira is drawing too much attention, you'll want to either misdirect the discussion, or at worse direct the attention to yourself.

Kira or the Follower doing the confiscation on each other doesn't expose their items or roles.
Your arrest as a Follower could be to your benefit, as you'll get arrested with the same consequences as any investigator. Getting caught with an ID not only removes you from the game, it confirms an Investigator if they're not already.

Reminder: The Follower can also use Kira Command Cards.
Advanced Gameplans
This section will list gameplans and tips for team Kira that should give you an idea of how it could be played.

Kira can Judge their Follower's if they get arrested, although not ideal, this can be an effective plan, for example, by having the Follower fake their Investigation Notepad, marking only one player, or ideally already suspected players. When an investigator finds that book, it can easily shift the suspicion to someone else.
These kinds of plays should only be reserved later in the game, as not having a Follower to swap the book is dangerous when there's a lot of investigators.

Kira and the Follower can arouse suspicion by stealing an ID and not killing it's player. Every investigator will announce the theft of their ID as they will expect their imminent death, having that not fulfilled can become a powerful scenario for Kira to misdirect the discussion.

Take note of how and where you kill players, as you'll want yourself, or your follower to grab their Investigation Notebook. Consider letting Investigators find the Investigation Notebooks instead if they start to deduce that that death placements are intentional, or your follower gains too much attention.

In the case that a dead player's Investigation Notebook is brought up as evidence, you can calmly dispute its contents in the first meeting it is brought up. If it's being presented by a Confirmed Investigator, you can argue that the contents aren't indicative, this is also why Kira should lean towards targeting better victims, as they'd have more people marked in their Investigation Notebooks.

Investigation Notebooks can be traded, this is a powerful tool to build trust, usually this will be used against you, but it can get Kira and Follower another day. If Kira or the Follower have a Notebook, its exchange can build them a lot of trust.
Consider killing the holder of the Investigation Notebook(s) if you're certain they'll be used against you or don't find a way to leverage that to your advantage.

Endnote
The pen is only as deadly as its wielder.

This is only an overview of the possibilities that team Kira has. The antagonists usually have a harder time in social deduction games, this should be give you a good idea of how Kira is ideally played (Based on the tutorial) and how you can take it further be leveraging game mechanics to fabricate winning scenarios to create a New World Order.

Kira's shinigami doesnt show up people, who got touched by more than one player. Only Kira Follower's shinigami does that.
