CS:GO Knife Model Replacement Tutorial (MIGI)
By nnerd
Turn your default knife into whichever CS:GO knife you want. This tutorial does not go over knife skins. This tutorial does not work for Counter-Strike 2, it only works for Counter-Strike: Global Offensive.

Getting Started - Required Programs
You'll need GCFScape[gamebanana.com] in addition to MIGI [github.com] for this tutorial.
Step 1 - pak01_dir.vpk
Go to your Steam Library, right-click on Counter-Strike, hover over mange, and select 'Browse Local Files' from the dropdown menu.

From there, open the 'csgo' folder and scroll down until you find 'pak01_dir.vpk'. Open this file with GCFScape.

Inside GCFScape navigate to models\weapons\ and then find and extract your knife's model files (.vtx, .mdl, .vvd, and .ani) by dragging them onto your desktop.

Make sure you only select the v_ model and not the w_ model. This tutorial only covers viewmodel and not worldmodel, but its a similar process for worldmodels. Also, don't worry about the '_anim' or '_inspect' files. They're referenced inside the files we're grabbing so as long as their in the games files you'll be OK.

Once you've extracted those, you can close GCFScape.
Step 2 - Renaming and p_ folder creation
You need to rename each file to either 'v_knife_default_t' or 'v_knife_default_ct' depending on which team's knife you'd like to replace. Make sure you keep the '.dx90' on the '.vtx' file though.

Once you've finished renaming the files, create a folder with a name beginning with 'p_'. Inside the folder create two more folders like this: 'p_WHATEVER\models\weapons\'. Put your model files inside the weapons folder, and you're done.

I'll add images later.

I'm *pretty sure* everything in this is accurate but I forget. If something doesn't work, don't hesitate to let me know.
