Go to your steam library
Right-Click Half-Life 2
Click Properties
Go to "Betas"
Next to "Beta Participation" there is a dropdown
Select "steam_legacy - Pre-20th Anniversary Build"
Wait for download to finish
Play Half-Life 2 or any mods that were broken because of the update (Such as Synergy)

turns out i had legacy on and i wanted the previous one soo

You might want to check out if you installed the mods correctly

thing is i have that version but the mods dont show up as an option in the menu but on the 20th anniversary they did sooo
