Introduction
NOTE: While Monsters & Mortals keeps getting updates and DLCs featuring new levels and characters, it's unclear if any new achievements will be added or if current ones will be affected. When new patches drop, the contents of this guide will change accordingly.

Need help finding any achievements in Dark Deception: Monsters & Mortals? Well, you've come to the right place! There are achievements scattered throughout the entirety of the game, so let's break them all down.

But before we begin...
Unlike my other guides for Glowstick Entertainment's games, there's a lot of player choice in how you can go about nearly all of these achievements. Being a multiplayer game with 39 characters (divided into 5 classes and 2 sides) all with their own abilities and 10 maps with their own unique hazards (traps and bosses), there's quite a bit for players to keep track of. While this guide is first and foremost for achievements, their criteria on a surface level doesn't often necessitate further elaboration. To compensate, the sections afterward will break down all the characters, maps, and hazards you'd best get familiar with for optimal success.

And some final things to keep in mind...
  • There are no missable achievements (as in things you would need to reset the game/progress for if you happen to not receive them).
  • No Downloadable Content (DLC) is required for a single achievement and are entirely optional, which includes the ones that are now delisted.
  • A lot of these achievements are based on player stats and progress is fortunately tracked in the Stats page in the Extras panel on the main menu.
  • You do not need proficiency/skill in any particular character to nab every achievement. They can be done with any monster and/or mortal, but naturally you'll find success with certain ones.
  • Ensure you are on the latest version (v2.0.0). To check your game's version, refer to the lower left corner of the title screen (the screen before the main menu).
🏆Participation
Friendly Gathering
Play a match in Friend Play Mode.

You'll need at least one friend with the game to help you out on this one, as matches will not create or continue if there's only a single player. You can join or host (doesn't matter which) a match from the main menu. Play the match until completion, and the achievement will pop when you're sent back to the main menu.

Nightmare Tourist
Complete a match on every non-DLC map in the game.

There are 11 total maps in the game, 5 of which are from the base game. Fully play a match on all these stages to secure the achievement. They are:
  • Monkey Business
  • Elementary Evil
  • Deadly Decadence
  • Stranger Sewers
  • Crazy Carnevil

Social Butterfly
Play 25 matches in World Play Mode.

Queue up for a public World Play game on the main menu, get paired with 5 additional players, complete the match, then rinse and repeat until you've hit 25.

Like A Boss
Activate Boss Time 25 times.

When a player pulls the boss summon from a portal box, that stage's unique boss monster will join the fray. Dying to any of them for the first time does have a silver lining though.

Unboxing Pro
Collect 150 item boxes in matches.

Portal boxes are scattered throughout every map in various locations (sometimes in clusters). Walking into one will "collect" it. While 150 may sound like a lot, in practice you'll probably find yourself grabbing these things constantly in matches.

Adaptable
Use every monster and mortal character in the game in at least 1 match.

Since the game doesn't visibly keep track of your character history/playtime, keeping an external checklist is probably a good idea. It's also worth keeping in mind that matches for this achievement won't count for Soul Collection matches if you don't win (since you transform into Murder Monkey) and if the host shuts down the lobby at any point.

You'll need to play as:
  • Murder Monkey
  • Agatha
  • Gold Watcher
  • Dread Ducky
  • Clown Gremlin
  • Reaper Nurse
  • Lucky the Rabbit
  • Hangry the Pig
  • Penny the Chicken
  • Malak
  • Detective Evans
  • Bierce
  • Doug Houser
  • Glowstick Vince
  • Nikson
  • PenPen
🏆Deaths/Losses
Fragile
Die more than 3 times in a match.

Losing all your health will result in a death. Losing all your health three times in a singular game will result in an achievement.

Unlucky
Lose 10 matches.

Failing to win a match is unfortunately bound to happen, and it's entirely likely you'll lose plenty of games over your Monsters & Mortals career. Either way, consider this achievement a consolation prize if you garner 10 total losses.
🏆Kills
Rookie Eyes
Get your first kill.

Instead of running away, sometimes you just have to fight. Kills only count against other players- not living traps, bosses, or clone characters. With your light and heavy attacks, another player is sure to eventually meet their end thanks to your hands.

Serial Killer
Get 5 kills in one match.

This is certainly harder, but far from impossible. It's a feasible task for any character, but strategic attacks, item, and ultimate usage will boost your chances.

Fatality
Finish off an opponent using your ultimate ability.

If you're trying for this achievement, keep in mind that not every character has an offensive ultimate. Ultimate abilities also take time to charge (roughly 90-120 secs without interference), so they won't always be available.
🏆Wins
King of the Monsters
Win 10 Shard Mayhem matches.

Shard Mayhem is a monster-only free for all mode with a maximum of 6 players. Carefully balance shard-collecting and killing other monsters to stay ahead of the pack and be branded the victor.

There’s No ‘I’ in Team
Win as a mortal in 10 Maze Escape matches.

Maze Escape is an asymmetrical mode with up to 4 mortals and 2 monsters. As a mortal, evade the monster(s), collect the allotted shards, and escape with your life through the portal when it spawns. But don't forget: to secure a win, every mortal must leave through the escape portal.
🏆Progression
Big Spender
Buy your first rare item from the Store.

To buy a rare item from the store, you'll need to spend 15 red shards on the right, red gacha machine. These can be accumulated from wins (one per victory) or as rewards from certain level-ups.

Combat Veteran
Earn the Silver Seal.

Every win you accumulate advances your progress in levels (viewed on the main menu). You'll be notified every time your level increases, and keep track of how far you are from Level 20 - the benchmark for the Silver seal.

Eternal Champion
Earn all Monsters & Mortals achievements.

All of the achievements in this guide comprise the achievements in this game, so start hunting for them!

@Revolder
Yeah I've spoken to a few people about this and it seems to not record you playing a match as someone if you don't win soul collection since you transform into Murder Monkey by the end. Adding clarification to the guide!
Revolder 28 May @ 11:14pm
@RyGuy LV After the update, I tried all the characters, but I didn't get the achievement. Today I played for each one for the second time, I got the achievement, and I have a feeling that soul collection games don't count as a part of this achievement.

Fixed, thank you!

@Revolder
Adaptable should work! The thing is that the game wasn't retroactively recording your history of played characters until a few months ago.
The Ghost™ 28 May @ 12:33pm
You did a typo in the Power Class section for the Monsters Hp
In Support Class you wrote "ko glitches" instead of "Dawko glitches"
Revolder 26 May @ 3:27am
It seems like all achievements are working now except for "Adaptable"

I hope an announcement or something will be made once they actually work, can't wait to get some achievements in this game (and that'll hopefully bring in some players as well lmao)
