The Guide (Its messy but hope it helps)
Last updated: 6th Jan 2025

Hey and Welcome!
Clearly if you are here you are in need of a little help. This guide will cover most stuff but not everything, as some things you must find out for yourself. There is no spoiler warning as everything here will be spoiling the game for you. Leave now if you don't want these.

So you are still here... lets start. Note the included map before we start so you know where to go!

The key is located on the window in the Sauna room! (Not always the case it seems)
UPDATE Can also be on one of the windows of the cabin itself, so check these places first and foremost.

The annoying wasps that can sting and kill you. These was my first encounter in the game and my first death (Yes there is an achievement linked to this). Now, if they are annoyingly over the cabin door, you are going to struggle to get the shotgun (hidden under the bed on the second floor of the cabin) but its not impossible. Make use of crouch and climb the ladder up, once you obtain the shotgun and loaded it with shells... throw it down to the mud below and get yourself that achievement for dying if you have not done so. When you come back to life, grab the gun and blast those wasps.

How to carry more items I hear you ask, well if you find the fuel tank for the boat and boat motor which is normally in the shed by the Axe (note this for in a second) attach these to the boat. You will need this later. Now this is not perfect and it had issues for me, grab the Axe, get in the boat and head to the left until you find the next dock. You need the Axe for a mission here that rewards a backpack. So make sure to speak with Kalevi about chopping up some wood for them. Once that job is done they will give you a backpack. Now you can put the Axe on the backpack.
UPDATE: Someone mentioned in the comments below that this was not a reward for them, make sure you follow the guy to his door. He goes in to get it then comes back out and leaves it by his radio.

Backpack tips: Its got to be taken off to access the inventory, also adding stuff to the backpack can be tough but almost everything goes inside of it. Including beer cases (important for later).

If you head back in the direction of your cabin but keep going past it, you will reach another Dock where you can find Marjatta. Marjatta has a very fun job where you have to cut all her grass. There is 4 areas to cut. Two big areas outside the front of her house and then one behind the house and another left of her woodshed where you find the mower. Her reward for the job is a single shot bolt action rifle (throw it in the backpack along with the 2 packs of rounds).

How to make money! So this is the longest thing and yes you need to do this, as you need to get 25 cases of beer for Jari (if you take this job for the turbo that fits on the boat or moped/scooter). You will need to make Kilju (fear not I have the answer). You also have a lid and bubbler airlock in the shed by where the Axe was. Grab everything you need first before starting.
  • Take a bucket
  • Add 8 liters of water (use the pump by the car)
  • Add 2kg of sugar (found at the store "Kauppa" open 10am-6pm)
  • Add 25g of dry yeast (Also at the store)
  • Put the lid on and airlock on the lid (there is a little hole for it)
  • Wait until the bubbling of the water lock stops (or just watch until the numbers stop)
The end result is roughly 8 liters of kilju.

Now how to make that money... well... Marjatta requires a good Alc % before buying (14.4% roughly) and repeat buys from you. Pekka and Jari will also repeat buy this from you with lower Alc % but I would not risk lower than 12% else they might refuse, plus they will take time to buy more, so check daily. Kalevi will only do a single purchase after you have chopped wood for them.

Any extra ways to make money... why yes. You can sell fish, moose meat and bear meat at the Kauppa. The backpack holds it all!
UPDATE If you are still having issues with the fishing, focus the kilju and buy a fish trap from the store. This will pay for itself after a few days and then you can always buy more than one and have endless fish.

At the time of writing this guide there was no way to currently make moonshine, as stated by the Developer.

If this guide has helped you in any form please give it a like so others can find it. Thank you.

You have to do two jobs for Kalevi. First the wood chopping. You will get a lighter as a reward. Then you have to sell him Kilju to get the backpack.

Any idea how to take the backpack off? I figured it was the "E" key but tapping, or holding it doesn't work.

Hold the "E" key to put things down more gently.

The guide might be outdated, things might have changed. I have not played any of the updates recently. The reason the guide is outdated is because as I mentioned, if it didnt seem helpful (example not enough likes given so it is featured higher up the helpful list) I was not going to waste time keeping it updated. 1500 people came here, used something off of this and didnt even give it a like, which is free to encourage guide writers to keep their guides up to date.
