Old Skool Button Cheats

Back in the day there used to be cheats you could use in games to max this, get that, do the other. Known as menu cheats, we used to use a combination of controller inputs on the OG release of Soul Reaver and other games of that era. Just like the Konami code meme, Soul Reaver Remastered still contains the original game codes from it's Playstation Port.

These cheats are from the original Playstation Port of Soul Reaver, but I found out that they still work in this Remastered version of the game.

Please be aware that unusual behaviours occur if you do not wait until leaving the underworld before activating cheats.

Also, also, defeating Kain with the Soul Reaver acquired by cheating is near impossible. Use at own precautions.

Xbox and PS style inputs
Note:- all cheats must be entered on the pause menu while holding both bumper buttons on an xbox controller or L1+R1 on a playstation controller. Direction inputs use the d-pad. PS style in parenthesis. There will be an audio clue to indicate the cheat has worked.

Cheats have only been tested in Soul Reaver 1 not Soul Reaver 2. I haven't had chance to get that game yet. Updates will naturally follow.

UPDATES
NOTICE

Please be advised that the use of cheats WILL disable achievements!! Moreover the achievements will be blocked on your save if you save your game while cheats are active.

This has been reported by multiple users.

Update 2
My research has told me that there are NO push button cheats for Soul Reaver 2.

Health Cheats
Max Health: Right, B (circle), Down, Up, Down, Up.

Max Energy: Y (triangle), Right, Down, Right, Up, Y (Triangle), Left.

Refill Health and Energy: Down, B (circle), Up, Left, Up, Left. [For this one to work you must enter the Glyph menu, then pause.]

Cheats 100% do disable achievements and the save files keep track of that.

Yeah just be careful because cheats will deactivate the achievements so unless you're a perfectionist I wouldn't recommend them on your first play through.

As a child I took me a while to realize you cannot beat Kain if you cheat to unlock the soul reaver early.

Not that I am aware. I was using the cheats after I had gotten to the silenced cathedral on a new save so I cannot confirm or deny that your achievement was locked due to cheating.

does doing the old PS1 cheats disable achievements? i believe it might. i used the health cheat and played for about an hour and there's at least 2 achievements i should've gotten but never popped. "cleared the tutorial" got that with no cheat, then input health code and shortly afterwards i should've gotten the "impale 10 vampires" and "jump in water without swim ability"
