This is a make up and cosmetics mod for Project Zomboid that hopes to focus on make up that is more dark-skin friendly while also remaining in-line with the vanilla game. It also adds nail polish. While you (or your character) do not have to be black to use this mod, the specific goal here is to empower Africana folks to create characters that look like ourselves and our communities.


She makes an AWESOME body mod with its own skin and make-up support including contacts, nail polish, and all of your standard make up. It's one of my favorites, and a link to her page can be found here:

All make up should work for both models, but is made with the female model in mind. There is, tragically, no way (that I know of) to tailor makeup to one model or the other. If this changes, I will do my best to put the work in.

...Probably! The makeup in this mod was made with the female frame in mind, but should also work for the male mod. If it looks particularly jank, and there is demand for masc-friendly makeup, I will gladly go back and add some!

Still no. And I wouldn't encourage you to do so anyway. I want folks to have access to the most up to date version of this mod, which may happen at any time...subject to my life/schedule. I don't want folks having an out-of-date experience, and while mod packs are convenient for users, they're inconvenient for creators when it comes to updates.

Prooooobably not. The intention was for this to be used with vanilla, and compatibility can...be a bit of a challenge, I'm finding. I'm going to give a soft no for now, but if it really becomes a large request, I will think about it.

Please ALSO keep in mind that all items within this mod were created with the darker skin tones in mind and are intended to work best with said skin tones. If you find you don't like how it looks on your lighter skinned character, then you're more than welcome to get in contact with me (or the modding community at large) to create your own mod. (I mean it! More mods = more cake, and who would say "no" to more cake??)

In all seriousness, there are three reasons I won't be doing that.
1. I QUITE LITERALLY do not know how to. Sandbox options are beyond me, and I really don't care to learn them at this moment in time.
2. If you don't want to use them, you do not have to. The benefit of more options outweighs the negative of less choice.
3. If you think for two seconds that this entire modding scene, and many other modding scenes, is not carried on the backs of queer folks and furries, you're living your life eyes wide shut. You can endure this, I promise.

I've noticed a recent uptick in the amount of comments I've gotten on ALL of my mods that are nonconstructive, negative, or just flat out racist/homophobic. Maybe it's the weather, maybe it's something else, but I'm just not interested in being a container for that kind of negativity.
