Introduction
My goal is to make this guide as simple to follow and as accurate as possible, it's good to remember that we all make mistakes, even those who push to be perfect. There is a donation link if you would like to donate to show your appreciation for my work at the bottom of this post.

If this guide helped you it would be heavily appreciated if you liked, favorited it or commented on it!

If you're feeling charitable feel free to give me some steam points ~ check below to learn how!

Optimized Quality Settings
Marvel Rivals is an interesting game in that lowering some settings does not change the visuals at all, similar to Overwatch and other arcade shooters. This game is new, so these settings are subject to change.

I will try my best to periodically update but I WILL miss things. Please leave a comment if you know of a fix I missed, know a correction to one of my fixes or have some insight to provide on my settings!

Display Settings

Target Display - Primary Monitor (or another of your choice)

Frame Generation Mode - Off (some people should have this on so play around with it)
Low Latency Mode - Nvidia Reflex Low Latency (for AMD or Intel it's off)
Limit FPS - Off
V-Sync - Off

Global Illumination - SSGI - Low Quality
Reflection Quality - Screen Space Reflections

Steam Deck Settings
Marvel Rivals is a tricky thing on Steam Deck and will require some fine tuning to make it run reliably well without inconsistencies and frame drops.

Before anything, please do the following:

1. Go to your Deck Settings
2. Properties > Compatibility
3. Check the “Force the use of a specific Steam compatibility tool” box
4. Select “Proton Experimental.” in the box below it

This should fix any black screens in cutscenes and some other issues.

Display Settings

For these settings we're aiming for 1280x800 @ 60 fps. If you want to sacrifice some frames and aim for something like 45 you can turn off FSR and cap to 45.

Notice: Users are currently reporting crashes, audio glitches and input latency issues. Crashing can result in in-game bans assuming it happens enough, so you have been warned.

Display Mode - Fullscreen
Anti-Aliasing and Super Resolution Type - AMD FSR
Super Resolution Mode - Performance
Super Resolution Sharpening - 80
Frame Generation Mode - AMD FSR3 Frame Generation
Low Latency Mode - Off
Limit FPS - On
FPS Cap - 60
V-Sync - Off

Global Illumination - SSGI - Low Quality
Reflection Quality - Screen Space Reflections
Model Detail - Low
Post-Processing - Low
Shadow Detail - Low
Texture Detail - Low
Effects Quality - Low
Foliage Quality - Low

Last Resort for Deck

If for whatever reason regardless of what you do you are still dealing with heavy performance issues on the Deck, I recommend doing the following:

1. Download the config file located here.
2. Navigate to
/home/deck/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/compatdata/2767030/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/AppData/Local/Marvel/Saved/Config/windows
3. Replace the engine.ini file with the downloaded file.

Note: The developers have stated altering config files could result in a punishment, so you are doing this at your own risk. While users have not been banned yet, it may happen.
Closing Remarks

Donations would be greatly appreciated, thanks so much for reading my guide!!
