In the early hours of July 11th, 2082, the largest counter-offensive since nuclear war wiped the slate clean occurred.

The hornet's nest had been thoroughly stirred. The pirates did not quite realize it, basking in their overnight victory as they were, but they had awoken a sleeping giant, and were woefully unprepared to bear the consequences of their king's reckless decision.

Thaelaib City, the jewel of the desert, the capital of the Kingdom of West Sahara, after enduring a 22 hour long siege, had been sacked. Thousands lay dead or dying in the city streets, and on the beaches; burnt out tank hulls were strewn about the battlegrounds; the Palace of Justice, the Royal Palace of King Mezian III, and the Crown Prince Amir's own palace, built upon the ruins of the Hassan II mosque, were all ransacked and looted; Countless atrocities were committed against the innocent civilians too weak to defend themselves. Worst of all, his Grace, the King, had been stolen from his deathbed to be held as a hostage.

As the night faded to day, the city had wept and prayed a mournful, pleading cry. The Pirate King's chief warlord, an experienced battle-maker known simply as Zahar, had hoped that in taking the West Saharans' king hostage, that the kingdom would fall in line, along with the old, dying Mezian's sons.

However, as he would learn all too late, this would not come to pass.

Elements of the 11th Air Regiment stationed at Malik IV Royal Air Force Base, along with the entirety of the 3rd Armored Division, led by none other than Shujae-Min Thaelaib Al-Sahrah, the second-born son of the king, were massing just across the Hassar River, in the city's harbor and industrial sector, which the pirates had not yet conquered, nor did it appear they would, until they had consolidated their victory.

All the while, Amir, who had fled the city via his private helicopter after realizing the battle was lost, had returned with a vengeance, and the most powerful fleet in the Atlantic since humanity had nearly wiped itself from existence 135 years ago; including such vessels as: ISRN Satsuma, the pride of Emperor Kaguya's navy, measuring a *monstrous* 263m/863ft length, with a 71,000 long ton displacement; along with the ISRN Ashitaka battlecruiser and ISRN Kurama battleship, with numerous submarines and smaller cruisers arriving in short order as support.

This fleet was led by Grand Admiral Hisao Matsumoto, the highest ranking naval officer hailing from the Empire of the Rising Sun, a nation built upon what was left of Japan, one that rivaled West Sahara in power, and had recently formed diplomatic ties (many suspect this was due to the Grand Admiral taking the king's heir as a lover, though if you ask the natives of West Sahara, they'd tell you their darling prince was the one who had seduced the dark, stoic Admiral, not the other way around) with a country the Emperor Kaguya had hoped would make a valuable trade and military ally.

Admiral Matsumoto would make good on this yet-proven alliance by cutting off any hope of retreat for the pirate raiders, and, should the invaders prove too difficult to dislodge.... leveling the city, per Prince Amir's request.

Speaking of, Prince Amir would not be so easily subdued simply in having his father held hostage. He knew full well, the king, who was already near death, would rather perish than let his people be made slaves, his nation be made vassal, after all that he and his forefathers had done to make West Sahara in to what it was. The young prince would not let his father down, even if it meant killing him, and hundreds of civilians, to ensure victory.

In the words of the Grand Admiral, "Quite simply, my darling, when all is said and done, there will be NO pirates."

bro imagine, you take the king hostage thinking it'll give you leverage over the most powerful country in africa, only to find out that the king's sons are more than willing to bomb the shit out of the capital with him in it rather than see their people and their nation become thralls to you and your pirate scourge ilk.

Reason you wanna play from the attacker's side is because there's certain objectives that the AI just like... won't capture unless you personally go up in there and snag em.
