Miscellaneous EZ2 Tweaks

Description
The mod has been updated. Make sure to reinstall for the best experience!

Makes minor gameplay changes, tweaks the HUD and weapon names, and makes crosshairs less obtrusive and more accurate to weapon spread. Most of the content is optional so make sure to read down below to customize the mod to your liking.

Make sure to leave your feedback about what could be improved!

Installation

WARNING: This mod modifies entropyzero2_english.txt, hudlayout.res, and weapon script files.

>To extract the addon's contents:
1. Go to EZ2's main directory at steamapps\common\EntropyZero2\entropyzero2. There should be a folder called "custom." If this folder does not exist, create it. This is where you will unpack the contents of the mod.
2. Navigate to
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\1583720\3392652519.
If you have EZ2 installed on another drive, look for the steam workshop folder there.
4. Copy this folder and paste it into the custom folder — feel free to rename it whatever you want.

>To install and activate the Custom HUD and (or) Tweaked Weapon Names [Warning: Requires Overwrite]:
1. Go into the resource folder in this mod and go inside one of the folders containing either the hud + weapon names, or the hud only, and copy entropyzero2_english.txt.
2. Navigate to steamapps\common\EntropyZero2\entropyzero2\resource and paste the contents you copied; it should ask you to overwrite entropyzero2_english.txt — overwrite when prompted.
3. To activate the new HUD, navigate to scripts\activate hud within this mod, and drag hudlayout.res outside the folder into the scripts folder.
NOTE: A backup of the original file was also made at resource\Backup. Make sure you restore this before uninstalling the mod — you can do so through the same method as installing the hud and weapon names.

>To activate the weapon changes:
1. Navigate to scripts\activate weapons within this mod, copy, and paste all the text files inside into the scripts folder for the mod.
2. (Optional) There are also a couple of options regarding weapon positioning. These are located in sub-folders within the directory described above. To activate, copy the files inside these folders and paste them into the scripts directory, as you did above, to apply the changes.

Features

Gameplay
Player and Weapons
-Bad Cop's damage multipliers have been adjusted to make him slightly more durable.
Head: x2.2 => x2.0 | Chest/Stomach: x1.5 => x1.25
-You can now obtain and use the regular pistol as its slot no longer overlaps with the gauss pistol.
-The kick deals a bit more damage, making smashing through some crates a lot quicker.
-Pistol caliber weapons deal less damage, and the ar2 deals more damage. This used to be the reverse case before.
-The shotgun now holds 8 shells and 24 in reserve.
-The ar2 now holds 120 ammo in reserve.
-Added a scope overlay for the Crossbow.
-The stunstick's damage has been buffed very slightly.
-Swapped the weapon slots for the ar2 and mp5k.
-Changed the slot of the displacer pistol to the one after the xen-relay grenades.

Enemies
-Some alien enemies have had their health slightly increased to make them less squishy and for consistency with health buffs to other ez2 enemies.
-The npc ar2 damage has been nerfed from a whopping 16 (*multipliers) to 10.

Visuals
-Tweaked vanilla crosshairs to be less obtrusive and more accurate to the weapon's spread. The newest version of the mod also decreases the issue of the crosshairs being misaligned by doing some transparency wizardry.
-Added HUD Icons for the health and suit of Bad Cop in the style of Half-Life 2: MMod.
-Added new custom ammo icons for the pulse pistol and xen-relay grenades.
-Added brand-new icons for the SMG, shtogun, and crossbow, and made a brand new icon for the unused displacer pistol (it no longer feels like a cut weapon).
-Adjusted the size for all weapon icons to be more consistent with each other.

Miscellaneous
-Added a keybind to walk properly by holding ALT. The key can be changed by editing the file at cfg/walkbind.cfg
-Removed mod dependencies on the autoexec.cfg file, which was causing issues with the night vision and other variables with the game.
-Most changes regarding balancing are now located in the mod's directory at cfg/miscdmgtweaks.cfg and balancedammo.cfg. You can edit these files based on your preferences.
-Additional cfg file options have also been added to improve ammo capacities for the rest of the weapons and to modify the rest of the ammo limits manually (except for SLAMS). These are located in the cfg/Extras folder of the mod. Simply edit these files to your liking, and drag them into the cfg directory for the mod to activate.

That's all, enjoy!

I've been having the issue with the sprites not loading either, and I have no idea where to start.
Also, another question on my mind, am I supposed to copy the files from the custom folder to the actual game resources' folders or not?
Again, I have no idea. I just want the MMod looking hud.

I did do that, long before you suggested that. So after all of this, it HAS to be a problem with how you made it, or some update to the game.

Rename the folder for this mod in your custom folder to start with a number or a character like ! so that it takes priority over other mods. Hopefully it works, but that's all i can suggest.

You edit the skill.cfg file for the game at ez2/cfg/skill.cfg. I have added a file in the most recent update that allows you to do so easily without conflicting with the other changes or other mods. The instructions are in the Miscellaneous section.
