It is recommended that you first install the Redguard Mod Manager to set up the Patch. In order to open the Mod Manager you will need to have the most current Version of Java . You can download this off the official Java website their are easy YouTube tutorials to do this.

Note: It does not matter where the Mod Manager is located as long as you know where to find it.

Now for what you are waiting for the patch for this game. First you will need to download from the link below, then you need to extract the file so the Mod Manager can locate it. Next open the Mod Manager and locate the folder name Redguard in the file name The Elder Scrolls Redguard.

Note: You can usually find all these files in your steamapps folder.


Once you locate the Redguard folder with the Mod Manager click open and it should open a new tab that will allow you to add the Unofficial Patch. Finally click the Tab at the top labeled Mods and locate where you downloaded the Unofficial Patch files. Once you see the Patch appear on the mod file click the checkbox next to it, then press Apply Changes and it will create a Mods folder created.






To make sure it works go back to the Redguard folder and above there will be the newly create Mods folders.

This Patch will fix all the major game breaking bugs but you will still experience some crashes here or there.

Recommendation If it keeps crashing especially if you are trying to exit a building on fullscreen try going into window mode it has worked for me 100% of the time in my playthrough.

This is my first ever guide so I am not familiar with how everything works so please let me know if their is anything I missed or something I can improve on to make the guide read better.

The image on this guide is from the Official Elder Scrolls comicbook that can be found in the file of the game. I also notice that you can find Game Manuals for all of the older TES titles (like Arena and Daggerfall) in their respective folders which is pretty cool. Why Bethesda did not just add this to the steam page rather than the folder is beyond me but hey it is a pretty interesting find
