Introduction
This guide will attempt to provide a comprehensive view of strategy in this game at its various stages (Pre-999, Before Ruins 5, Reaching Ruins 10, and the Endgame), focusing on the final two stages. Warning: Strategizing yourself is part of the fun of the game. Following this guide can reduce your fun by taking that from you.

Anyways, this guide assumes you have reached floor 999 for the first time, and have a basic grasp of game mechanics. With that, we'll dive in.

This guide was made for version 1.0.4
Summary: What are the key strategic takeaways of this guide?
  • Bomber++ is amazing. Get one BatteryBlast, as many Bomber++ as you can have, then swap to a 2 Destiny++ 10 GoodLuck drill before it explodes to get a TON of ore.
  • Destiny is awesome, because Collector++ exists. Storage Totem, EnergySaver or Hungry Totem, Goodluck means you get a ton of ore without taking any bag space... which means you do x4000 damage per Collector enchantment.
    • If you have space in your bag, you do more dps since you're not overencumbered, so it saves time
    • Other enchantments like SpeedStar become more viable; your DPS is high enough that now movespeed becomes your limiting factor
  • DPS is DigSpeed (Base 200%) * Critchance (0.55 Base to 1 Max) * CritDamage (base 250%) * DigPower
    • (Assumes over 200 upgrade gears)
    • Collector++ is the best enchantment, especially with GoodLuck to give more ores. Your DigPower gains 4% per enchantment per ore. Amazing, especially with SmartStorage
    • DigSpeed is best buffed by the Master enchantment, or SpeedStar enchantment
    • Everything stacks additively, so at base, +50% digspeed is as good as +25% DigPower, +13.75% CritChance, or +67.5% CritDamage
  • Optimal ruins runs end with less than level 60 curse to get all the rewards.
    • Sun Totem lowers curse a lot, but you need FlameTorch++ or TorchRange Haniwa, ideally with CritTorch and 100% crit chance, ideally with some Destiny++ to speed that along
    • Sight sight sight, get sight from Haniwa or totems to find more tombstones, and lower that curse, and find those rewarding spirits and Haniwa shops!
    • As always, collector is key to punching above your weight

Also critically, balance your time. Optimizing drills and theorycrafting to complete goals faster takes time, when you could just farm. Farming Ruins can be slow without enough DigPower from upgrade gears, so go farm the underground... unless you don't have a collector drill in which case you're going to be farming for a while. Balance your time spent developing and using your tools.
  • In the endgame, you don't need max DPS. It depends on your goal.
    • Farming Upgrade Gears: Maximum speed to reach bottom of underground, enough damage to burst through the healing blocks, enough Bomber++ to mine all of the treasure chests to maximize your gold chests
    • Farming Ore: Max GoodLuck++, 40% Luck, and a second drill with as much Bomber++ as possible with one BatteryBlast / OreBlast / CrateBlast
    • Farming Haniwa: High FlameTorch to purify the cursed pots, High sight to see the spirits and remove the tombstones to lower your curse, enough DPS to make it through Ruins 10 and reach the bottom with less than 60 curse (for both powers)
    • Farming Totems: Unnecessary. Farm ores in the ruins, spirits won't die in a single explosion so just collect the survivors and get the totems. Else, follow the same advice as farming haniwa, since Ruins 9 and 10 give an extra totem level.
  • In the endgame, you don't need ideal drill enchantments or Haniwa enchantments except for fun:
    • Once your OreTree is maxxed, you don't need much ore
    • Once your Totems are maxxed, you don't need more totems ever
    • Once you get all the upgrades, you don't need coins (rerolling drills takes hammers which you should have thousands of after maxxing the OreTree)
    • Once you fully upgrade your Haniwa / Totems, you don't need relic coins (except to reroll Haniwa enchantments)
Part 1: Choosing the best Enchantments
Thinking about enchantments, you need to think about your goal. Do you want to reach level 999 as fast as you can? You need dig speed, move speed, and the ability to plow through the regenerating blocks. Do you want to collect as many ore per minute as humanly possible? You need good luck+, destiny, plenty of bomber++s, and also somehow move speed.

At every 100 levels, you must pass the DPS check by destroying the regenerating blocks. At ruins level 10, the health of each regenerating block increases by +3000% per curse level, and it is not uncommon to end a run with curse level 40, meaning 1200x the typical health levels. In contrast, the end of the underground has a total health of less than 40,000

----------------------------------------------------------

When unencumbered (your bag is not full), your average damage per second is equal to:

Power per second = DigPower * DigSpeed * (Crit Chance from 0 to 1) * Crit Damage Percent

When fully encumbered, you can hit a health block 2 times in the underground if you don't destroy any berries, or 5 times in the ruins before it fully heals. DigSpeed seems to have no effect on this:

Total damage to health block when encumbered = DigPower * (Crit Chance from 0 to 1) * Crit Damage Percent * (Number of hits to healing block: 2 in underground, 5 in ruins)

----------------------------------------------------------

From here, we see the following:
  • Crit chance has no benefits beyond 100%
  • Crit damage increases power linearly
  • DigPower increases power linearly
  • Collector++ increases DigPower linearly, infinitely depending on amount of ore mined
  • DigSpeed increases power linearly IF YOU ARE NOT OVERENCUMBERED

For DigSpeed to be a force multiplier, you must not be overencumbered. This means: 100% Smart Storage Chance, 100% EnergySaver chance... Which means you need at least 70% luck, so three Destiny++s and another Destiny either from the bronze fortune totem, or from Luck on the Haniwa.

----------------------------------------------------------

For Collector++, every single Good Luck++ increases damage linearly by a factor of up to +1.3x per ore at max OreTree level and +40% Destiny/Luck. So to unnecessarily maximize damage, you should have 40% Luck, and 4 Collector++ for every 3 Good Luck++. I highly recommend maximizing GoodLuck+ however, since more ore is always better.

At the end of a typical underground run, you see roughly 1400 ore, with over 600 chests, plus however many empty batteries you expel. The bronze Storage totem provides SmartStorage, and with 65% luck (+20% per Destiny++, the rest from Haniwa... with the gold totem you need only 55% luck) you guarantee that no Relic Coins, Treasure Chests, or Ores take up inventory space. Only empty batteries and destroyed relic coins take up space at that point. The former (empty batteries) can be negated with a Hungry Totem and 80% luck, or a single Energy Saver++ and 70% luck. The latter (destroyed relic coins) cannot be negated.

(Alternatively, you can get a low cost drill and stack CostDown++ from Smith to get a 0 energy cost; this saves your need for 15% Luck, but costs 1-2 enchantment slots and prevents you from using BatteryBlast)

Doing the math, by the end of an underground run, if you collect all of the ore you will receive a +4800% DigPower bonus per Collector++. If you add a Good Luck++ and 2x Destiny++ (using 4 of your 12 enchant bonuses), you're up to a +11040% bonus on average from the extra ore. No other enchantment allows you to multiply your power by x48, or x110 with some more ore.

----------------------------------------------------------

So in short,
  • 70% Luck from 2 Destiny++s, some Haniwa, and the Fortune Totem. (2/12 drill enchantments, 1/4 Haniwa stat slots, 1/3 totems, 0/2 Haniwa enchantment slots)
  • 1 EnergySaver++, the Storage totem at silver or higher for SmartStorage, Collector++ (4/12 drill enchantments, 1/4 Haniwa stat slots, 2/3 totems, 0/2 Haniwa enchantment slots)
  • FLEX (8/12 drill enchantments available, 3/4 Haniwa stats available, 2/2 Haniwa enchantments available, 1/3 totems). More movespeed, more digspeed, more critdamage (your critchance is already at 100%), Some GoodLuck for more ore, the sky is the limit
Part 1.1: Early Ruins tips / Farming upgrade gears
Stuck on early ruins? Get upgrade gears, increase DigPower after maximizing everything else.

Strategy for fast underground: Slap a drill with as much Bomber++ as possible on it, with either a BatteryBlast, OreBlast, or CrateBlast. Grab a second drill with collector on it, and put its enchantments on any drill with a high base damage.

(The lefthand drill is just a theoretical example, feel free to get as many Bomber++ are reasonable to put on a drill)

All you do is drill straight downwards. The entire underground will get mined out, and you can swap to your collector drill to instantly break any healing block without a crystal.
Part 2: The High Level Ruins
Relic coins take up space. Either grab the Storage totem, or do your best to consciously not mine them... because for high level ruins, you need Collector.

As always, 70% luck (Fortune Totem, 2 Destiny++, and a Haniwa), an Energy Saver++ enchantment, and a Storage Totem or the SmartStorage++ enchantment. Goodluck++ also increases dps by increasing ore gain, but you'll need to mine. Consider increasing dig speed or CritChance up, but recognize it's almost certainly worse than adding another GoodLuck or Collector++.

You'll also want some FlameTorch and TorchRange with CritTorch and the Sun Totem to purify all the cursed pots.

Finally, you want as much Sight as possible. You can see spirits in the dark so high sight means you can beeline to spirits. And you want to find Haniwa Shops and Tombstones to lower curse levels.

At high ruins levels, you cannot ignore the curse mechanic by simply blowing everything up. If you do, you miss the sarcophagi rewards which are VERY good.

Example loot from one run of Ruins 10:
By floor:
  • 1 chest, 7 haniwa, 0 totems in 2 shops from 1-100
  • 2 chests, 8 haniwa, 2 totems in 3 shops from 101-200
  • 2 chest, 8 haniwa, 2 totem in 3 shop from 201-300
  • 0 chest, 6 haniwa, 2 totem in 2 shop from 301-400
  • 1 chest, 6 haniwa, 2 totem in 2 shop from 401-500
  • 2 sarcophagus, 8 haniwa, 2 totem in final section
Total:
  • 6 chests, 43 haniwa options, 10 totem options in the ruins
    • the 6 chests gave me 2 ore templates
  • 4 blue spirits, 20 green spirits, 4 orange spirits outside the sarcophagi
    • Sarcophagi: 2 Ore templates, 5 green spirits, 1 orange spirit

The sarcophagi are clearly not mandatory, but are the best source of ore templates, and increase spirit gain by 24% which means that many more Haniwa to choose form.

    -------------------------------

    My method of play:
    • Drill until crittorch gives you a purifying torch
    • Use your high sight to find tombstones, spirits, and haniwa shops
    • Swap to your ore-collection drill to collect ore
    • AVOID RELIC COINS if you don't have the Storage Relic, since you can't afford filling your inventory

    My first build:

Some obvious inefficiencies, but one strong drill with Collector on it, another to get as much ore as possible, and then some good vision and purification with the Sun Totem in order to further reduce curse.

My final build / build for Haniwa farming (same totems, same OreTree template):

Obviously I wish I had the patience for either 3 more FlameTorch++s, or a CritTorch so I didn't have to waste a Haniwa slot for it, but I didn't need the perfect drill for that to be incredibly effective.

The entire map is 28+1+28 = 57 tiles wide. With the +96 Sight from my Haniwa pals, I can see in a radius of 26 tiles, so 53/57 tiles. And 15 tile radius vertically. You need roughly +100 Sight, which requires higher level double glasses Haniwa, in order to see the entire mine from the center tile.

With this sight, and the strength of my torches, I can snake down 30 tiles, over 4, then down another 30 in order to see the entirety of the map. Spirits are visible in the dark, so the torches help only to purify, find tombstones, and find Haniwa stores. This allows for extremely efficient mining of Ruins 10.

Part 3: Achievement Hunting - OreTree, gold Totems
The OreTree requires an obscene amount of each ore to fully upgrade to 100.
  • Ore per level:
  • 0-9: ?
  • 10-19: ?
  • 20-29: ?
  • 30-39: ?
  • 40-49: 100
  • 50-59: 150
  • 60-69: 200
  • 70-79: 250
  • 80-89: 300
  • 90-99: 400
  • 100-119: 500
  • 120-139: 550
  • 140-159: 600
  • 160-179: 650
Getting an ore from level 40 to level 100 requires 14,500 ore. This means you need at least 507,500 ore to max out your OreTree with all 35 ores. So getting 1500 ore per run is going to take an excruciatingly long time. For this part of the game, you need to think: how can I get as much ore as possible, as fast as I can? So you need to think, what gives you more ore? Only the GoodLuck enchantment. With 40% luck, you give it a 100% chance to work, so you'll need two Destiny++'s or some good Haniwa. But then, how do you mine a lot of ore fast? Bomber++ is the easiest way to dig out a big area, and you need a source of explosion like CrateBlast, BatteryBlast, OreBlast, or finding bomb tiles. And you need MoveSpeed to descend the mine quickly.

While a normal run of the underground yields 1450-1500 ore or so TOTAL, you realize quickly that the OreTree will take an extremely long time to fully level. With a good build, however, you can get runs like the following:

The build I used while maximizing my OreTree was the following:

My drills are optimal for my strategy, but obviously my totems aren't max level and my Haniwa are sorta garbage. There also is an argument for my second haniwa having GoodLuck as opposed to Bomber...

This is how I played:
  • Drill until a battery drops with first drill. With Hungry Totem, buffed by OreTree with fullset bonus, it takes two drill units to empty your battery (which doesn't enter my bag with a 47% probability due to my silver Fortune Totem and Luck on my Haniwa)
  • Swap drills to the GoodLuck drill QUICKLY, before the batterybomb explodes
  • Keep the GoodLuck drill equipped until all the goodies fly into your bag.
  • Swap back to the bomb drill and repeat

By the time I reach the end, I have only 20/70 bagspace used from empty batteries despite no EnergySaver. You might need a single collector on either drill in order to drill through the final healing blocks and complete the underground until you level up your base DigPower enough with upgrade fears.

Why this works:
  • With BatteryBomb, or drilling Bomb tiles, their explosion radius is determined when the bomb spawns... it then has a delay before exploding. So you need as much Bomber++ as possible when the bomb is produced.
  • With GoodLuck, it applies the instant ores are destroyed. So you need as much GoodLuck as humanly possible when the bomb explodes (and at least 40% luck).
  • With SmartStorage, it applies as the goodies fly to your inventory. So you need 55%-65% luck depending on your Storage Totem level to make it 100% when the goodies reach you.

Some modifications can be made since my level of Bomber++ (+35 tile radius) is probably extra:
  • the bomber drill could sacrifice two Bomber++ for two Destiny++, then you wouldn't need to wait for all the goodies to complete their flying maneuver before continuing your bomb -> swap to goodluck ritual. This will reduce total ores received per run but might speed things up.
  • The haniwa can both have GoodLuck++
  • You can add MoveSpeed

This is because, while my method can yield 22k ore per 5 minutes, if you can get for example 18k ore every 3 minutes, you're doing better than my method.

---------------------------------------
Ruins Notes

Aside: My method only works in the underground. In the ruins, the explosions kill all the spirits and fill my inventory with broken relic coins. I need either a single collector++, or an obscenely high base DigPower in order to break the bottom floor's healing blocks. The BoomProof totem would cause massive massive inefficiencies in this build so you just need to deal with the explosions. This also means you cannot farm ore efficiently and farm Haniwa or Totem levels efficiently.

Example: The bottommost healing blocks for Ruins level 1 have 110,000hp at 93 curse (+2790% HP). With my above build, I gain roughly 9700 ore by the time I get down there. With a single Collector++, that's x388 damage, so I need only 283 base drill damage to one shot the healing block.

Gold Totems, Ruins Ores
Note: For Totems, following the ore farming guide above allows you to quickly max them out. Since the big BatteryBlast x1 Bomber++ x11 explosion only explodes once, and all secondary explosions have a small 3 tile radius since you've swapped drills to your GoodLuck drill, many spirits survive. You'll need a collector++ since you will be overencumbered, and thus your Storage totem can also be swapped out. Sight becomes very useful as well. DigSpeed becomes immediately irrelevant.

My build is above. I added a Collector, changed a Haniwa to give more GoodLuck, and swapped a single totem. The ONLY reason I got those Haniwa is they had GoodLuck and Sight.

You'll need to repeat the ruins level 1 many times (maybe 40 times?) to get all the Ore necessary to max out OreTree to level 100 for all of them. As a result, you'll get enough Spirits to max out your Totems without engaging with most of the ruin mechanics. This means that your Spirits can be focused on Haniwa instead.

For an alternative build, see the Haniwa section
Appendix 1: Getting the best drills
Trying to make a 4x Bomber++ drill? In the Codex, under OreTypes, you see that each of the 10 types of ore have different numbers of enchantments. Find the category with the enchantment you need which is the smallest. For Example, "Bomber" enchantment appears on (Bomber) ores which only have 4 options, and (ToolExpert) ores which have 5 options.

If you need something from the Smith category with six options, just get a blueprint which guarantees, for example, Destiny++ (Or Destiny+, or Destiny; it's easy to upgrade this later). This is critical if you want two CostDown++s for a zero cost drill, for example. Farm ores and craft blueprints.

Finally, when crafting, note that ANY ore can cover the tile with the enchantment; its pool of enchantments will not be drawn from for the remaining three.

Example:

This would be an IDEAL blueprint for 4 Bomber++s. I use two Coral and one Lead outside of the enchant slot. I put a flint in the enchant tile. Now, when you forge:

You'll have a guaranteed Bomber+, and three draws from the (Bomber) ore category. Each has a 1/4 chance of being Bomber++, which means you have a 1/64 chance to get the perfect drill!

If you had 2 (Bomber) and 1 (ToolExpert), your probability decreases to 1/80 and you'll need that much more luck to get the perfect drill.

Recommendation: Have at least 192 Hammers to reroll; you want to have roughly 3x the inverse of your probability to have a 95% chance of getting the drill of your dreams.

Caption: While a fun and useful drill, probably best to keep rerolling

------------------------------------------

Other tips

  • A max level forge saves a bunch of time upgrading every enchantment from + to ++
  • ALWAYS ALWAYS Fill out your blueprint. It guarantees 4 enchantment slots (as long as 3 ore were placed outside the enchantment tile)
  • Suboptimal drills, or ones where more than one combination of enchantments is "good enough" saves you enormous amounts of time sitting there rerolling. Striving for perfection isn't necessary, but it sure is fun
Appendix 2: Stat List Overview
The remainder of the guide is a categorization of all build components, sorted by stats. All totems, all enchantments are pertinent.

In this game, there are 33 enchantments (25 boosted by the OreTree), 12 Haniwa stats, 23 Totems (10 boosted by the OreTree).

A "gear set" consists of 2 drills, 2 haniwa, 3 totems, and an OreTree template filled out. Totems, when leveled up, grant both a blessing and an enchantment, while Haniwa have a small chance to have any enchantment.

---------------------------------------------------------

Enchantments:
  • Each drill can have up to 12 enchantments. While two drills can be equipped at a time, the inactive drill's enchantments do not apply to the active drill.
  • Each Haniwa can have up to 1 enchantment
  • Each Totem, when advanced to bronze or later, provides up to 1 enchantment. Additionally, some totems buff enchantments.
  • The OreTree can enhance selected totems and enchantments
  • Some stats can be provided by the upgrade gears, or by Haniwa. 10 of the Haniwa stats can appear twice on a Haniwa, Duration and Torchrange are the 2 exceptions.
This means your theoretical maximum is 14 of any enchantment, and 1 of any totem enchantment.
  • the useless +BagSize is exclusively a Haniwa and base upgrade stat
  • the absolutely critical +Sight is a stat found on Haniwa and three totems (Master, Zoom, Hawkete)
Stats Part 1: DigPower, DigSpeed
Stat 1: Dig Power
How much damage you do to blocks. The final health block of the underground has maybe 30k health, the final health block of ruins level 10 with 40+ curse has over 2 million health. Collector can enable you to gain massive damage.
  • Base source 1: Drill DigPower - 10 minimum, 780 maximum depends on ores used
  • Base source 2: Upgrade gears "DigPwr", +2 per gear, infinitely buffable. Ruins level 4 recommends 200 levels in DigPwr... Ruins level 10 recommends 4800 levells in DigPwr...

  • Haniwa Stat "Speed": Slim Body (+10% base, +1%/5power), Sharp Head (+6% base, +1%/3power)
  • Enchantment 7: Quickstart
  • Enchantment 10: SpeedStar

Stat 4: CritChance
If you need to drill through blocks, you probably want 100% crit chance. More than that is useless. Base is 55%, so two Destiny++s and the Fortune Totem work, or many other options.
  • Base Source 1: Upgrade Gears -- Max +50% base Crit Chance
  • Base Source 2: All pickaxes start with +5% crit chance
  • Haniwa Stat?: Yes -- "CritChance"
    • Haniwa Stat "CritChance": Quiet Body (+10% base, +1%/5power), Stylish Head (+10% base, +1%/5power)

  • Can be buffed?: No
  • Provided by Totems?: No
  • Ore Source: (Master)

Stat 5: CritDamageUp
Damage multiplier upon getting a critical hit. At 350% crit damage, all your crits do 3.5x normal damage. Since your base is 250%, adding a CritDamageUp to give +70% only increases your damage by 320%/250% = a +28% dps bonus. Consider other sources, like DigSpeed, or Power increases, to improve your dps further.
  • Base Source 1: Gear upgrades give +100% at max
  • Base Source 2: All drills start at 150% crit damage
  • Haniwa Stat?: Yes -- "CritDamage"
    • Haniwa Stat "CritDamage": Master Body (+15% base, +1%/3power), Hatted Head (+20% base, +1%/4power)
  • Totems enhance this stat?: Yes

Stats Part 3: Luck, Duration
Stat 6: Luck (and its related skills)
With only two sources, the Destiny enchantment on drills or the Fortune Totem, or Luck on various Haniwa, this is a critically important stat for the endgame.
  • Haniwa Stat?: Yes -- "Luck"
    • Haniwa Stat "Luck": Smile Body (+10% base, +1%/6power), Clover Head (+7% base, +1%/4power)
  • Totems enhance this stat?: Yes
    • Fortune Totem: Provides Destiny++ for free, also allows Destiny to give CritChance
What all does luck affect?
  • GoodLuck enchantment: 60% chance for additional ore
  • BatteryBlast enchantment: 60% chance for explosion after depleting battery
  • OreBlast enchantment: 60% chance for explosion upon drilling ore
  • CrateBlast enchantment: 60% chance for explosion upon drilling crate
  • SmartStorage enchantment: 45% chance of storing ore (and relic coins and treasure chests with totem) without using bag space
  • LockPick enchantment: 80% chance of not using key when opening golden chest using drill
  • Scout enchantment: 70% chance of placing torch upon battery replacement
  • EnergySaver enchantment: 30% chance of not consuming energy
  • CritTorch enchantment: 30% chance of placing torch upon crit
  • Hungry totem: 20% chance of not releasing an empty energy battery after depletion
  • Pierce totem: 20% chance of doing a piercing attack
Example of its usefulness: With 80% luck (From gold ranked Fortune Totem, 3 Destiny++ enchantments on drills), add the SmartStorage totem, add an energysaver enchantment (or the Hungry Totem), and your backpack will NEVER fill (except for broken relic coins in the ruins). That's 4 enchantments to make it so you can now hold infinite ore. Which means Collector now allows for infinite gain. Speedstar is now permanently active, you can throw 6 Good Lucks on the drill now and you gain 7 ore per ore block, with 100% crit chance, 0 need to refill a bag, and +28% DigPower per ore block mined, with a constant +45% DigSpeed and MoveSpeed from your SpeedStar OreTree.

Example, succinct: Drill - 3 Destiny++, 1 EnergySaver++, 1 Collector++, 1 Speedstar++, 6 Good Luck; Totems - (bronze+) Fortune, Storage, <flex>; Haniwa - <flex>, <flex>; OreTree fullset SpeedStar, GoodLuck... you never fill your inventory, and gain 38.8% damage per ore block mined on average. Add another collector from Haniwa to raise that to 77.6%, add another speedstar from Haniwa to raise speed another 45%.

Not a useful stat, unless using hunger totem and 80% luck to constantly replace battery, then Quickstart finally becomes useful.

  • Totems enhance this stat?: No

Stats Part 4: Energy, Torch, Bomber, BagSize
Stat 8: Cost
Amount depleted from battery per drill hit. Once battery depleted, without Hunger Totem and 80% luck, an empty battery will fill your bag. Note: Drills can be reduced to 0 cost... which is awesome, and means no batteries will ever deplete. 2 CostDown++s guarantee this, but Destiny and EnergySaver are multifunctional and preferred.

  • Haniwa Stat?: No
  • Totems enhance this stat?: Yes
    • BigTotem: Provides OverHeat++ for free, cost 7 or higher drills get +30% damage (+45% (+67% with fullset) extra with OreTree)

  • Ore Source: (Destroyer), (Smith)
  • Notes: also increases DigSpeed by +25% at ++ (boosted +15% (+22% fullset) by OreTree)

Stat 9: Battery
Max amount of energy per battery. Upon its depletion by mining too much, your bag fills up with an empty battery assuming you don't have the hungry totem and 80% luck.
  • Base Source 1: "Energy" from normal upgrades increases to 110
  • Haniwa Stat?: Yes --
    • Haniwa Stat "Battery": Cell Body (+20 base, +1/2power), Energy Head (+15 base, +1/2power)

  • Can be buffed?: No
  • Provided by Totems?: no
  • Ore Source: (Explorer)

Stat(s) 10?: Torch Buffs
Torch range increases with FlameTorch and TorchRange. With the Sun totem, this also makes all cursed pots become purified, reducing curse in the ruins. It's thus very nice to have, for the ruins specifically, a single drill with as much FlameTorch as possible to purify everything and reveal the entire map.
  • Haniwa Stat?: Yes --
    • Haniwa Stat "TorchRange": Flaming Head (+1 (+1/10power))
  • Totems enhance this stat?: Yes
    • Fire totem: You can warp from torches to the surface, also Scout++ for free

Enchantment 30: FlameTorch
  • ++: +3 TorchRange
  • Can be buffed?: No
  • Provided by Totems?: Yes -- Sun
  • Ore Source: (Explorer) (ToolExpert)

Stat 11: Bomber
One of the most important stats. Increases the range of explosions. If it's large enough, you can mine the whole world in an instant, efficiently gaining ores and treasure chests.
  • Haniwa Stat?: No
  • Totems enhance this stat?: No
  • BoomProof totem: Relics totems within 8 (23 (30 with fullset)) tiles are not shattered by explosions, also provides Rich++ for free
  • Enhances CrateBlast, OreBlast, BatteryBlast by increasing their radius

Enchantment 31: Bomber
  • ++: +3 explosion range
  • Can be buffed?: No
  • Provided by Totems?: No
  • Ore Source: (Bomber) (ToolExpert)

Stat 12: Bagsize
'Irrelevant with Storage Totem and enough Destiny, but it's the amount of Ore / Treasure Chests / Relic Coins / Busted Relic Coins / Empty Batteries which can fill your inventory before becoming overencumbered.
  • Base Source 1: Normal upgrades: Up to 70
  • Haniwa Stat?: Yes --
    • Haniwa Stat "BagSize": Big Body (+10 base, +1/4power), Chest Head (+7 base, +1/4power)
  • Totems enhance this stat?: Yes
    • Battery Totem: Stores up to 2 (3 (3.5 with fullset) with OreTree) batteries
Stats Part 5: Sight, All others
Stat 13: Sight
Determines how far you can see. A critical stat for efficient ruins runs if you cannot destroy blocks at the highest curse level -- if you can see far, you can path away from cursed pots and relic coins which clog your inventory, allowing you to easily push forward. With high sight, high torchrange, collector destiny and smartstorage, you can make it through any ruins level with minimal curse. A possibly faster alternative is still exploding but using the BoomProof totem and an appropriate amount of Bomber++s, but I find Sight and TorchRange to be the best.
  • Haniwa Stat?: Yes --
    • Haniwa Stat "Sight": Spring Body (+10 base, +1/5power), Glasses Head (+10 base, +1/5power)
  • Totems enhance this stat?: Yes
    • Master Totem: +1 sight per 20 (14 (11 with fullset) with max OreTree) master activations, also provides Master++ for free
    • Zoom Totem: +15 (+22 (+25 with fullset) with OreTree) sight per 60 energy remaining, also provides CostDown++ for free
    • Hawkeye Totem: +5 (+11 (+14 with fullset) with OreTree) sight when you illuminate 200 blocks (x100 - glitched), also provides Lantern++ for free
    • Shine Totem: Makes Healing crystals, spirits visible from farther away, also gives MoveSpeed++ for free

Enchantment 32: Lantern
  • ++: +3 blocks of light range
  • Can be buffed?: No
  • Provided by Totems?: Yes -- Hawkeye
  • Ore Source: (ToolExpert)

Stat 14: Other
  • Pierce Totem: +20% pierce chance buffable by luck, (+30% (+45% with max OreTree) chance for extra pierce)
  • BoomProof Totem: Relic coins within 8 (23 (30 with fullset)) tiles don't explode
  • Chain Totem: Destroys connected ores and relic coins together
  • Purify Totem: Cursed pots destroyed by drill are purified

Enchantment 33: Rich
  • ++: +50% more coins (including relic coins) dropped
  • Can be buffed?: Yes -- OreTree
    • Max OreTree: +30% (+45% with OreTree) additional coins
  • Provided by Totems?: Yes -- BoomProof
  • Ore Source: (Collector) (Fortuner) (Smith)

2025/05/12 update: Added missing picture to build section

Kanlor 17 Jun @ 3:54am
Thanks so much for this guide, I was starting to lose interest in the game (for the second time around) because there are just so many different enchantments and places to get them that it's hard to know what to focus on. Glad someone knew that bomber and goodluck were the answer! :srnuke:

Since a recent update added charms (basically another source of enchantments and buffs) I wanted to share one I found which synergises wonderfully with your bomber++ mining build.

It looks like a little pair of wings and offers increased movement speed as the upside, with decreased battery as a potential downside. Then if you place the pieces right, you can get a 180% increased (or 280% of base) move speed AND decrease the battery to 10.

My only change from your build is two bomber++ replaced with destiny++ (which is one you suggested), so batteryblast triggers every hit, and I'm not waiting for (or filling) storage. That has me clearing floor 999 in 1m 45s, still with 20k ore. :powergem:

Just added the missing picture, thanks redders108 and Toeryn! There was code in there indicating a picture should have been there, but it must have been removed or something odd
fidelio 20 Mar @ 11:44am
this guide really helped collect more ore. in the end i was managing about 21,000 ore in 2 m 55s, though the trek for the 'ore super power' achievement was still grindy in the end.

Excellent guide

Just the same question as Toeryn below, is there meant to be a picture after "My final build / build for Haniwa farming (same totems, same OreTree template):"?

Hope the image can be added

> My final build / build for Haniwa farming (same totems, same OreTree template):

The image there is missing, can you re-add it?

Appreciate the guide, I didn't realize stacking Bomber++ could be so satisfying. :cool_seagull:
