I saw a post by people saying they were having trouble beating slyrando probes so I thought I would share how I do it.

You do this trick with a spathi eluder and you have to be heading away from the probe, but not fast enough to outrun it. When its just barely catching up to you you let your ship drift and then orient it like so.


if you thrust forward or backwards this trick doesnt work, you have to be drifting and only use the turn buttons to orient yourself, your nose should be pointed at a 45 degree angle to the probe or even slightly towards it when you fire. If you practice this you'll get a feel for which side to face to have the butt missiles go more directly to the probe.

If you do this trick right the probe wont dodge at all and will just eat the whole spread of butt missiles. This trick also seems to work against a number of other ships in the game, although maybe not the Ur Quan or the Kohr Ah.

Once again Its important to note that you have to be DRIFTING to do this, if you thrust at all it changes the way the AI behaves and they will flee your butt rockets instead of flying into them.
