Download "The Ur-Quan Masters HD / MegaMod" and install like normal. Players can reference the Steam guide by Viandante or MegaMod's website for more information on the mod itself. Upon completion of the install, delete the desktop shortcut if one was created.

Locate your Steam "Free Stars The Ur-Quan Masters" folder on your local disk drive. Open another window and locate the folder containing "The Ur-Quan Masters MegaMod" folder that was created during the MegaMod install.

Rename your "The Ur-Quan Masters MegaMod" folder to "Free Stars The Ur-Quan Masters" in order for it to match the original Steam folder.

Open your new "Free Stars The Ur-Quan Masters" (MegaMod) folder and rename the exe. file to "uqm" to match the original Steam version.

Delete the "Free Stars The Ur-Quan Masters" game folder from your Steam common folder on your local disk drive. Additionally delete any desktop shortcuts associated with the Steam install.

Replace the deleted Steam "Free Stars The Ur-Quan Masters" folder with the new MegaMod "Free Stars The Ur-Quan Masters" folder in the Steam common folder.

Finally, go to your Steam library and locate "Free Stars: The Ur-Quan Masters" in your game list. Highlight the game and click the launch option from the main library screen. Once the game launches you should be met by the MegaMod HD version of the game. Once the game is on the main menu, exit out and return to your Steam library. You can now create a desktop shortcut using the drop down option from the highlighted game.
If you wish to cleanse the game of the modded filth, simply delete the folder completely from the Steam common folder and reinstall the Steam version from the store page. This ritual is necessary for the game to be returned to vanilla. Now you have heard these words, it is time for you to be cleansed!
