Each block gives 52 hangar space. Convert one to a computer core, and the rest can give you a total of 421 small fighters, 125 medium fighters or 52 large fighters on your ship.

You can convert some of the internal smart hull to hangar (will need computer cores to go with it, as converting it to hangar will drop it below 10 slots)
