Core
Equip this, become the weapon:

That alone isn't enough though, you'll not only need speed, you'll need damage. It hits once per direction per target, so you'll need to kill things in one hit, otherwise you'll stop at their faces, turning you into an easy target.

Important details about using this equipment:

  • When you start moving one direction, it counts as attacking until you stop;
  • Sharp turns counts as stopping and attacking again;
  • Each "attacking" instance can hit multiple enemies, but only once each;
  • Each "attacking" instance count as one attack (So you can only proc pew pew by going back and forth);
  • Your "bump" damage can crit;
  • Your "bump" damage can't focus hit;
  • Your "bump" damage counts as a hit for hitstreaks (The Bam Bamboozler skill will break your hitstreaks though);
Equipment
In an attempt to guide even those who don't have every armor piece, here's a tierlist by bodypart, to help you choose what's best among what you might have.

*This is based on passives alone*

WEAPON
Tier
Weapon
Why
Optimal
The Bam Bamboozle, Bonejaw Weapons
Dodge cancels are easy to spam, and it stacks with the power Momentum. The skill triggers "on taking damage" effects and can be dodge cancelled. If you dodge towards the totem when cancelling the skill, you might destroy it and not risk your health. Alternatively, Bonejaw weapons will proc gnarlic first then the skill, and the skill gives you speed, which is converted to damage.
Situationally noice
Groak Weapons, Gourdo Weapons and Bullrog Weapons
The passive for Groak Weapons will help you if you get hitstreak-based powers, and Gourdo Weapons might help you if you get healing powers. Bullrog will trigger quite often since you'll be running into enemy attacks. Chose the strikers if you want more damage, or the Cannon if you want to melee-range light attack to bump them twice.
Better than nothing
Anything that isn't in any other tier
It mostly won't interact with the build in any way, good or bad.

CHEST
Tier
Equipment
Why
Optimal
Meowl Mitts and Bullrog Gauntlets
Meowl Mitts gives you the most critical chance among chest options and it'll trigger on The Bam Bamboozler skill. Bullrog Gauntlets buffs you a lot, but it's way riskier to play, and you'll forgo dodge buffs, so no Bam Bamboozler for you.
Good Enough
Gnarlic Chest Wrap
Gets the job done, but takes to long to kick in, and you can lose the buff to anything. Unreliable.
Situationally noice
Antleer Hide
Will help you survive, but depends on the hunt and its anomalies.
Better than Basic Tunic
Anything that isn't in any other tier
It mostly won't interact directly with the build.

LEGS
Tier
Equipment
Why
Optimal
Meowl Booties, Colossaphire Greaves and Quetzi Waist Guard
Meowl Booties triggers on The Bam Bamboozler skill. Colossaphire Greaves synergizes well with Bullrog Gauntlets. Quetzi Waist Guard is simply strong in any build.
Good Enough
Bullrog Laced Boots and Bonejaw Jawbelt
Thanks to Gnarlic Head Stalk, you'll always be attacking, so Bullrog Laced Boots will be always on. Bonejaw Jawbelt isn't as good as Colossaphire Greaves, but it's good enough and allows dodging.
Situationally noice
Antleer Hunting Boots
Scales slowly, depends on the hunt, but it's a permanent easy buff.
Just better than Basic Leggings
Anything that isn't in any other tier
It mostly won't interact with the build in any way, good or bad.
Worse than Basic Leggings
Yammo Elasti-Shorts and Arctic Stunk Fur Leggings
Thanks to Gnarlic Head Stalk, you'll always be attacking, and you want to get close to enemies.
Power Advice
I suggest balancing damage and speed powers. Too much speed makes it hard to control, and too little makes you an easy target (it's also boring not to go fast). Hitstreak powers will suck unless you're lucky, but they're better than heavy/light attack buffs.
Gem Options
You might want to just go with Runspeed-Runspeed-Runspeed, but there are other good options that might match your slots better.

Type
Recommendations
Damage
You're left here with few options that actually apply to gnarlic, I would say the best ones are Pristine and Critical Damage.
Support
As mentioned above, you might just slap Runspeed and be fine with it, but Gambler's is also insanely good.
Sustain
Kinda meh options, the best ones are Max Health, Alchemist's, and maybe Healing or Regen.
Example Builds
These two builds are the ones I use the most (Sometimes switching Colo Legs with Quetzi)
