Core

The main gimmick is simple: use the skill-> golf swing. But to make it work across frenzies, you might need some help. The dodge required to properly golf swing might get you in weird or off position, and the charge will make you vulnerable. Be wary of speed buffs, since they might throw you way off position in the setup, and don't commit too hard on always focus hitting, otherwise you'll get yourself killed.

Important details about using this weapon:
  • Golf-swing, and the following hits, counts as a heavy attack;
  • Golf-swing can focus hit if you fully charge it;
  • Golf-swing can crit;
  • Golf-swing counts as attacking while you charge it;
  • Golf-swing can knock down if the target stays alive after;
  • Although you dodge backwards to Golf-swing, it properly tracks you as facing your swing direction (for backstab reasons);
  • Each enemy hit by the swing or the explosion counts as a hit for hitstreaks, but you might need Resting on Laurels (extra streak time) to get something out of it, since you'll take too long if you always charge your swings;
  • While missing the swing won't consume your skill, landing a ground heavy attack will;
  • The explosion is centered on you, not on the target;
  • The explosion can crit;
  • The explosion can't focus hit;
  • The explosion doesn't count as light attack nor heavy attack;
Equipments
In an attempt to guide even those who don't have every armor piece, here's a tierlist by bodypart, to help you choose what's best among what you might have.

*This is based on passives alone*

HEAD
Tier
Equipment
Why
Optimal
Yammo's Noggin-Padder
Yammo's Noggin-Padder will boost your fully charged golf-swing and the 3 hits after.
Good Enough
Floracrane Garland and Antleer Trophy Antlers
Floracrane Garland will boost your heavy attack crits a bit; Antleer Trophy Antlers might be a nice damage boost if others don't break stuff before you do.
Situationally noice
Iriss Shroud, Arctic Stunk Ushanka, Colossaphire Helmet and Meowl Cowl.
Perfect dodge buffs are good if you can rely on your skills; Meowl Cowl and Colossaphire Helmet have nice buffs, but you don't want to take damage.
Better than nothing
Anything that isn't in any other tier
It mostly won't matter for the main purpose of the build, good or bad.
Worse than nothing
Gustree Helm
You'll mostly miss your golf swing. That's it.

CHEST
Tier
Equipment
Why
Optimal
Floracrane Raiments, Bulbin Longcoat
]Floracrane Raiments will boost your fully charged golf-swing and the 3 hits after, but be careful to not commit too much for the damage; You'll be dodging a lot, and Bulbin Longcoat will help you not get caught near the end of your dodge.
Good Enough
Antleer Hide and Snortoise Armour
Antleer Hide might be a nice survival boost if others don't break stuff before you do. Snortoise Armour can help you with hitstreaks if you have heavy dodge.
Situationally noice
Iriss Wrap and Bullrog Gauntlets
Perfect dodge buffs are good if you can rely on your skills; Bullrog Gauntlets can boost your damage a lot, but you won't be able to golf until you reach the boss, and it is really unsafe.
Better than Basic Tunic
Anything that isn't in any other tier
It mostly won't matter for the main purpose of the build, good or bad.

LEGS
Tier
Equipment
Why
Optimal
Floracrane Skirt and Quetzi Waist Guard
Explosion damage counts as skill, Floracrane Skirt makes it easier to clear in the beggining of the hunt. Quetzi Waist Guard is just too good on most builds.
Good Enough
Torchfly Kneeguards and Bullrog Laced Boots
Torchfly Kneeguards will help you even more with your setup dodges; Bullrog Laced Boots might help you survive while charging your swing, since it counts as attacking.
Situationally noice
Bulbin Sash, Iriss Twine Cinch and Colossaphire Greaves
Buffs to your dodge are always welcome; Colossaphire Greaves can boost your damage a lot, but you won't be able to golf that much to keep it active, and it won't stack while charging your swing.
Better than Basic Leggings
Anything that isn't in any other tier
It mostly won't matter for the main purpose of the build, good or bad.
Worse than Basic Leggings
Gnarlic Bulb Shorts
Will make it harder to position yourself.
Power Advice
Damage powers > Crit powers > Healing/Shield powers > Heavy Attack Powers > Dodge powers > Teffra Powers > Hitstreak powers > everything else > Speed powers (speed may affect your dodge distance)

Shock powers fall somewhere between Dodge/Heavy Attack and Damage powers, they might help you a lot with clearing rooms. Crit powers will cap at your current damage, but damage powers will increase your crit damage too. You'll need some form of sustain on super frenzies too.
Gem Options
Gourdo Weapons have 2 damage and 1 support slot, but I'll give advice on sustain gems just in case, although I recommend you to focus on the slot buffs.

Type
Recommendations
Damage
Focus Damage is the best option here. It has a weird interaction with Yammo helm that makes it better. Pristine is another good option for early clearing.
Support
Gambler's is just insanely good, but you might slap a Patient there if you want more hitstreak reliability.
Sustain
Kinda meh options, the best ones are Max Health, Alchemist's, and maybe Concentrated or Counter Protection.
Example Builds
These two builds are ones I run the most:

worth bringing up that Snortoise armour's shockwave effect can let you maintain combo when dodging backwards
