Mining truck tires can vary in thickness depending on the model and size of the tire. For example, the Michelin XDR250+ 50/80R57 mining tire has a tread depth of 3.7/32 in, while the Michelin X UM HAUL 35/65R33 underground mining tire has a tread depth of 2.4/32 in.

A haulage truck tire, according to DOT regulations, must have a minimum tread depth of 4/32 of an inch on steer tires and 2/32 of an inch on all other tires, meaning the overall thickness of the tread is at least that amount depending on the tire type and size
