Slugging is the superior tactic because it asserts dominance on a metaphysical level.

perks

Deerstalker

Allows you to see the auras of downed survivors when they are out of your terror radius. This helps you find and re-engage survivors who might be hiding near their downed teammates.
Survivors cannot see downed allies from far away, so this perk synergizes with leaving them injured/bleeding to catch them trying to hide.

Hex: Face the Darkness

This synergizes with stealth or ambush killers who can land an early hit to light the Totem and then capitalize on periodic reveals to catch healing or hiding Survivors.

Infectious Fright

When you down a survivor, all other injured survivors within a large radius scream and reveal their location for a brief time. This is extremely useful if you want to chain downs before hooking, letting you keep momentum on injured survivors.

Particularly strong on killers who can down quickly or have good map pressure tools.

Thanatophobia

Each injured survivor on the map applies a stackable penalty to repair, healing, cleansing, sabotage, and totem interaction speeds. As you slug more survivors (leaving them injured), this increasingly slows the remaining survivors’ progression.

Slows survivors from healing themselves or each other quickly, making bleeding-out more likely if they can’t get picked up or healed in time.

killers
Nurse

Why: One-shots via blink can down survivors instantly if played well; also can phase through terrain to surprise survivors. Quick downs mean you can slug before survivors get picked up.

Synergy: Infectious Fright triggers often with one-shot downs; Deerstalker helps track hiding survivors; Thanatophobia stacks quickly as you down multiple.

Blight

Why: High mobility allows rapid map traversal. You can quickly find and down injured survivors before they get heals.

Synergy: After a down, use Infectious Fright to locate other injured; Deerstalker tracks hidden; Thanatophobia slows healing.

Survivors often struggle to find safe spots to heal between your fast returns.

Oni

Why: Demon Mode can convert blood orbs into charges for fast movement and one-shot downs. Once you get a down, you can keep the momentum.

Synergy: Infectious Fright chains downs; Deerstalker locates hiding survivors; Thanatophobia penalizes remaining survivors.

Oni’s ability to rapidly swing around the map makes keeping survivors slugged easier.

Spirit

Why: Spirit’s phase-walk can catch survivors off-guard.

Synergy: Same core perks apply; benefit if you can reliably down early. However, requires skill to one-shot consistently.

Ghost Face

Why: Insta down and stealth killer, fun overall.

Pig

Why: Very fun to play with Amanda's Letter.

tips
Map Pressure: If survivors rush generators, they might force you to chase instead of slugging. You can use early-game pressure perks like Corrupt Intervention or Pop Goes the Weasel if you feel like you need them.

Counterplay Awareness: Survivors often bring Unbreakable, Borrowed Time, or other healing perks. Be ready to chase long enough to prevent immediate rescues, or down quickly to minimize chances of Unbreakable.

Practice Required: Killers like Nurse or Oni require mechanical skill to down reliably. Slug builds amplify the need to down quickly and re-engage prior to healing.

Adapt to Match: If survivors bring strong anti-slug tools (Unbreakable/We’ll Make It), consider switching to hooking sooner rather than persisting in slugging to avoid fruitless chases.

Stay Updated: Perk balance changes can shift the strength of slug builds. Always check patch notes or community discussions for nerfs/buffs to core perks (e.g., changes to Knock Out, Infectious Fright, Thanatophobia).

Now my new fiancee and I are moving to Hawaii since we both love surfing and martial arts, and we're going to start a professional partner-dance competition in which we will both judge and compete (but never voting for ourselves, of course) just to keep ourselves young and passionate!

I never could have done any of this without the help of this guide.

If you have a love for life, PLEASE follow this guide and change your life today! You won't regret it!

Walking down the street in the new clothes I bought to fit my new body, a passing salesman saw me and was so impressed by how I looked, he started up a conversation. He told me about the company he worked for, and how he was able to not only make hundreds of thousands of dollars a year, but did so while actually HELPING the environment and endangered ecosystems!

It seemed too good to be true, until I discovered he was selling green energy plans and equipment on an industrial level. Well, I joined his job, and with all the money I started making, and my new rocking body, it wasn't long before I met the love of my life!

THANK YOU!

You have no idea how much this helped me-- in fact, it saved my life.

Before this guide, I was a single, overweight, jobless loser who couldn't get a girlfriend, and had to spend my time fantasizing about having a job or a woman, while I watched my cousins with their wives from inside their closets while they made love.

After reading your guide however, it really kicked me into gear!

I started getting consistent 4ks every match, and the survivors were having so much fun and were so impressed, that they just started swarming me with beautiful messages of positivity and encouragement! The confidence their uplifting words gave me, sent me into a massive upward spiral! After a game, I would do some pull-ups, push-ups, sit-ups, and spit-ups, and before long I had a ROCK SOLID healthy body!
