Have you ever wanted a cheap, small, deck-mounted weapon, that fires blaster shots, and is a bit unique? Well, your best chance is this mod!

The Energy Shot Blaster is a turret that fires four energy shots at once, while using the same amount of energy as a normal Laser Blaster. It requires 3 command points, and 1 crew, while only costing 4K Credits.

Energy Shot: (Remember, 4 are fired!)
Damage: 220/shot (144/sec)
Rate of Fire: 0.67 shots/sec
Range: 190 Meters
Firing Arc: 270 degrees
Random Spread: +/- 1.5 degrees
Turret Speed: 90 degrees/sec
Speed: 260/sec
Durability: 100
Power Use: 0.05/shot (0.033/sec)

Overclocked: (6 are fired, so energy usage is increased)
Rate of Fire: 0.8 shots/sec
Turret Speed: 45 degrees/sec
Random Spread: +/- 1.35 degrees
Heat Gen.: 550 MJ/shot

This is my first part mod, so there will probably be inbalances, or bugs. And remember, when in doubt, use more gun!

Yeah, I kinda feel that the implementation was sort of an upgrade instead of a sort of sidegrade most other weapons have. Making it like a sort of burst energy blaster is a good idea.

I think you should change the overclock option. Weapons tend to gain new mechanics:
- Mining Laser and Large Laser Blaster gain AoE.
- Small Laser Blaster becomes a beam.
- Ion Beam gains the new chain lightning mechanic.
So I think it would be interesting to shift the focus of this weapon:
- When not overclocked: it shoots 4 bullets with spread, like a shotgun. It's effective against shields or in close combat, since the spread makes it hard to focus damage on a specific part at long range.
- When overclocked: it shoots 3 bullets in quick succession, one behind the other, with no spread. This makes it better at longer distances and allows for more precise targeting.
I think that would be a nice trade-off. You lose some raw damage (3 vs. 4 bullets), but you gain precision and the ability to focus damage—something that’s usually preferable.

cool weapon. little strange that the weapons firing arc looks and feels backwards to its positioning. does make placement a little interesting for sure.
biggest thing though is the projectiles feel fast for what is essentially a shotgun turret. if they were slower it'd probably balance a bit nicer for their high DPS

I love this turret! However similarly to others I would like a heavy version, especially as it is hard to make realistic star wars Venator and destroyer (and other large ones) ships without using deck-cannon, which isn't accurate. Enough bickering from me, it IS awesome!

Cool module, though I think the range is a bit too small, unless im using it for the wrong reasons. Also what if you added a deck-type ion mortar? Just suggesting, again its a cool mod.

@YellowKnight Fair enough. I'd personally would rather ask to mimic the vaniilla range PLUS a couple more or less for it's own range, but i really just ask because some people like having more range, usually through mods. Personally, i edit my vanilla files.
