First of all have the puck in front of you (duh) and your stick right next to the bottom part of your character model until you cant see the blade of it.



Next swing your mouse a bit to the side and up, but more sideways then up, not too aggressively for less upwars momentum on the puck (less of a jump) or swing it in about a 45* angle up and sideways to have the puck flying for a bit.
