Un-Troll Your Strange Seas

Description
This mod reverts the change which the developer of Frackin' Universe introduced to specifically punish only users of mods which patch strange seas, specifically by way of forcing them to be an adverse world type if a modification was detected.

This will no longer be the case.

Independent reimplementation of the original mod based on latest FU fu_player_init.lua no code taken from original Untroll Strange Seas. Still credits to FeralFerret for knowing which file to modify.

This should be compatible with the 6.4.8.3 January 4th 2025, the latest Frackin Universe release and current workshop version as of February 11th 2025.

Planets with strange seas should no longer police your fun in this way.

Designed to pair with the excellent Make Strange Seas Random Again, and of course Frackin’ Universe without which this mod is useless.

Edit: World with strange sea are identified as "Strange Sea" world not "Unknown"

FU doesnt cause enemy beam-ins. blame the elithian race mod for THAT one. FU doesnt do that at all. there's also a mod to shut it off

@PIROJPER

from what I remember, an adverse world type means that is basically has a bunch of really harsh environmental effects that apply when on the world - some that can't even be mitigated with augments or anything if I remember correctly. which essentially made it impossible to stay on that planet for more than a second or two outside of admin mode

Not sure if it's this mod doin it or a different one, but I think the frackin dev may be throwing a tantrum again. lately when playing groups of very powerful enemies using frackin weapons will randomly (and quite frequently) just beam down around me and open fire. Some of it could be attributed to random encounters, but it seems to be happening with extreme regularity lately, which seems like the dev's brand of game policing. It's slightly annoying but since I use the RPG growth mod it winds up just being free experience.

Still though, I would much appreciate if someone could look into the code and check if there's any other mods he's deliberately slipped malicious code in for

Could anyone fill me in on what happened to FeralFerret's version of this?

Thank you for standing up to Big Modding, I sadly depend on FU for most of my mod list (and my main race, the Slime Race) so I have to put up with it's bull. Mods like yours are what help me get past the insecurities of others in their own/stolen creations.

It seems strange seas are all still plasimc fluid. I have the "Make strange seas random again." I traveled to not visited systems with strange seas as well. Only 3 so far but all had plasmic fluid.

Glad to see this mod back online. Couldn't live without my planets that have entire oceans of beer

That deliberate incompatibility thing should probably be classified as hostile or harmful code and treated accordingly.
