Introduction
My goal is to make this guide as simple to follow and as accurate as possible, it's good to remember that we all make mistakes, even those who push to be perfect.

If this guide helped you it would be heavily appreciated if you liked, favorited or commented on it!

If you're feeling charitable feel free to give me some steam points ~ check below to learn how!

Optimized Settings
Please read this before you jump into the settings. I want to make it clear that right now performance varies greatly. These settings might be what helps you, they might not be. I spent a lot of time testing the settings and writing this guide - if these do not work for you do not immediately downvote this guide because of that. The game is in a wildly (no pun intended) volatile state right now.

DLSS Swap
Monster Hunter Wilds for one reason or another does not utilize the latest version of DLSS out of the box, but that can be fixed with DLSS Swapper. This can lead to higher framerates.

How to swap to newer DLSS:
1. Firstly, close your game entirely.
2. Open up the Nvidia app, if you don't have it download it here[www.nvidia.com].
3. Click on 'Graphics' on the left side of the screen.
4. Search for "Monster Hunter Wilds" if you don't see it click the three dots below "Program Settings". Then click 'Add a program and navigate to Monster Hunter Wild's .exe.
Normally located at C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\MonsterHunterWilds
6. Under "Monster Hunter Wilds" click on "Use different settings for each DLSS Technology"
7. In the "Super Resolution" tab change to "Latest" and click apply.

Warning: This can cause black screens with Frame Generation on for some users on 21:9. If you experience this I suggest you play on 16:9 instead or revert the DLSS Swap.
Ultrawide Fix + FOV
Ultrawide unfortunately suffers from grey bars on both sides of the screen, this can cause screen burn on some monitors over time and this is pretty unacceptable in my opinion.

Luckily, there is a fix for this:

1. Firstly you will need to download RE Framework, to do so head here[github.com].
2. Under "Assets" in the latest version, click on the "MHWILDS.zip" file.
3. Extract the file anywhere on your computer, we will need the "dinput8.dll" file.
4. Copy the aforementioned file and paste it into your Wilds directory.
Normally located at C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\MonsterHunterWilds
5. Once the game launches you can use the "Insert" button to open the menu. In here you can find the option that will fix Ultrawide. You can also change your FOV here.
Closing Remarks

Donations would be greatly appreciated, I put aside a lot of my time to work on these guides and to help others. Thanks so much for reading my guide(s), even if you don't donate!!

If you have any questions regarding ANY of the above fixes or content please feel free to leave a comment below or add me on Steam and DM me. I also recommend checking out my other guides here to see if there are any guides for games you actively play or would like to play!

Is there no way to enable V-sync if it's locked off from the start?

I had it working really well for me on Saturday (only a couple crashes on Balahara hunt), but after updating last night, I'm getting constant crashes... :(
Anyone else having this problem?

Golden I am so glad it worked for you!!

Griz I am happy that you found a solution :)

Hazy my recommendation would be to uninstall the HD textures if you have them, and if you don't have them to install them - as this has been reported to me to be a temporary fix for some users. If neither of those work it might be worth doing a full reinstall.

Zel it doesn't really as their is no concrete fix at the moment, sorry. My personal recommendation would be to follow what I recommended to Hazy up above in this same reply, as that could work.

After the patch, it is generally better to use FSR AI and generation. On 2080Ti, the game runs at maximum settings in 4K 60+ FPS, the only thing is, like everyone else, with ultra textures they do not load in places, it is better to reduce to high, since there is almost no difference, they affect only small objects.

@Nulla i realized i couldn't since im on a 3080 switched to fsr 3 and its running stable with the frame gen on there consistent 90-100 fps (even tho i know its fake frames i prefer it for this game)
