Spoiler Warning
Reading this guide might spoil things for you.
It is up to you whether you want to use it from the start to minimize achievement hunting time, or use it to mop up remaining achievements on a second playthrough. It will work either way, though I'd recommend doing the latter, as this 100% only take a couple of hours anyway. I spent a lot more time creating this guide than actually playing the game.

Basics
This game is divided into Episodes. This guide lists all achievements by the Episode in which they are unlocked, in order, so you can read one at a time.


Saving
Make a save at the beginning of each Episode.
You can optionally overwrite it later on, at a specific point indicated by a spoiler screenshot.
This is to avoid skipping for too long (or too far, as this is possible in some cases).


Timed Events
The game doesn't tell you this explicitly (I think), but the above indicator will show on the right side of the screen whenever you are in a time-sensitive event, requiring you to select and confirm options at specific points in time.
Episode I
BULL!
Make a Glen's Eye.
This is just the first opportunity you have to make a Glen's Eye. You will have two more, so don't worry if you skipped this. The Episode ends in Danny's bar. You will have a choice between getting a beer and walking up to the dart board - do the latter. You need to throw at least one dart to read all the narration about Glen's Eye to unlock the option to attempt it.

Stay on the screen that lets you choose between TAKE AIM and ... - set your selection to the latter option and be ready to confirm it. This is a timed event, as you wait for a signal. You need to confirm the selection when your hand briefly changes to look like this:



Be aware that doing so more than once in an Episode will raise Kevin's Suspicion, which you don't want, unless you're going for a specific related achievement.
Episode II
Optionally save here:


SHERLOCK!
Assign first evidence correctly.
You begin the Episode by going to the Graveyard, where you dead drop collected evidence. Attaching each piece of evidence to a card provides context for your handler.
If you first REMEMBER WHAT EACH CARD REPRESENTS and then EXAMINE AVAILABLE EVIDENCE, the solution is pretty obvious:
  • FATHER MARIO - NOTHING
  • SAINT CAJETAN - COPY OF RECEIPT
  • MARY UNDOER OF KNOTS - PERMISSION TO DRIVE AFTER CURFEW


The Suspicion Bar
It's just a gimmick.
This Episode introduces you to the concept of the Suspicion Bar - a scale between scores 0 and 7 to measure how much suspicious people are about your identity. In practice it also measures how much they like you. There are 5 people who have Suspicion Bars in this game - Kevin, Vincent, Luca, Keith and Monique. This guide will point out some of the situations that might change a person's Suspicion toward you, but the truth is that it ultimately does not matter at all. From what I've seen, none of the Suspicion levels are checked at any point, except for Kevin, and it's only for a single event mentioned in Episodes IV and VII. Other than that, there are no situations in which the Suspicion level might change anything about the story, which is disappointing.

REFLEXES!
Avoid an accident.
Ironically, this achievement is hard to avoid. You will run into Luca and have a split second decision to make. Here are the options:
  • ... - It's the same as not doing anything.
  • BRAKE - This awards you the achievement and lowers Luca's Suspicion.
  • TURN THE STEERING WHEEL - This raises Suspicion of Luca and Keith.

Save here:
You have a choice to make.

Return to this save file later to get the achievement for a different outcome.

ROAD WARRIOR!
Lead a successful road exorcism.
You need to survive 30 seconds of the road minigame. Just move out of the way of incoming vehicles. No idea why cars would be driving in an opposite direction on both sides of the road, but whatever.

RETRO INDEED!
Abandon a road exorcism.
Dying at least once in the Road Warrior minigame unlocks a new option:
  • YOU'RE NOT READY TO BE IN THE FRONT OF THE HOLY CROSS
Select it. This will unlock the achievement and raise the Suspicion level for Luca, Keith, Vincent and Monique.
Episode V
No achievements here and no saves needed.
Episode IV
BAR FIGHT!
Die after making Kevin snap.
Before drinking any beers, go to the dart board and start making Glen's Eyes (as described in Episode I). Keep making them - each subsequent one will raise Kevin's Suspicion, ending in a bar fight.

Kevin's Suspicion Bar
Required for other achievements.
In order to unlock future events leading to multiple other achievements, you have to start working on decreasing Kevin's Suspicion level. You can always increase it by doing repeated Glen's Eyes, (provided that you aren't completely drunk yet), but you have limited options to decrease it. Go to the bar and talk to Kevin, listen to his stories. Explore all of his dialogue options except for drinking beers, until he replies:
"Maybe another night... I have to server these beasts now..."
This will lower Kevin's Suspicion from 3 to 1.

CROSS ONE OUT!
Win a via crucis solitaire.
This is the most difficult achievement in the game. Start by doing the following:
  • GO TO THE LEFT OF THE BAR
  • SIT WITH THE BAHNSEN KNIGHTS
  • PLAY VIA CRUCIS SOLITAIRE
  • ASK HOW TO PLAY IT
  • PLAY
This will unlock the minigame, so you can access it from the Main Menu whenever you like, so you don't have to worry about this achievement now. Due to the extremely heavy RNG, it can take an hour (or longer) to succeed, so it's up to you.

I'm not a classic card game expert, so I don't have any good tips. Unfortunately, I wouldn't even call this a solitaire due to it's sheer randomness and lack of player choice. For me this was the weakest point of the whole game. If you like solitaires, I'd rather recommend this:

You can certainly keep track of the card count in Via Crucis / Cross Solitaire, but the amount of effort and time needed for that (unless you are some kind of black jack savant) is unreasonable, given that you can always be defeated by RNG. Personally I made a decision to play quicker, but dumber, and rely on the RNG to win. My strategy was keeping the Salvation value at 10 or above to have good odds and replacing the cross only if I didn't have a 9 card of higher in it. You will certainly need to tie-break two or three times in order to win. Just keep at it - it took me about 45 minutes. Good luck!

ONE TOO MANY!
Get hammered.
Drink 7 beers (which is the maximum), try to get yet another one, which is key, and then make a Glen's Eye. This won't raise anyone's Suspicion. If you exit the bar without getting hammered, it will raise Keith's Suspicion, even if you drink 7 beers, trying to drink 8.
Episode VI
Vincent's Plan
The most split dialogue in the game.
This Episode starts with a conversation with Vincent.
Here's what all the options result in:
  • ... > ... - Raise Vincent's Suspicion.
  • ABOUT WHAT WE'RE DOING HERE > ... - RETRY
  • ABOUT WHAT WE'RE DOING HERE > SMILE - Lower Vincent's Suspicion.
  • ABOUT TONI'S SERMONS > NOD YOUR HEAD - Nothing.
  • ABOUT TONI'S SERMONS > SHAKE YOUR HEAD - Lower Vincent's Suspicion.
  • ABOUT TONI'S SERMONS > RAISE YOUR CHIN IN HIS DIRECTION - Raise Vincent's Suspicion.

ROAD RAGE!
Hijack a truck.
Succeed at the minigame and help Vincent hijack the truck. This isn't the outcome we want for getting another achievement, and it only changes a line or two in the story, so after unlocking this, load your latest save and make a different decision, as described below.

STRAY FROM IT!
Do not follow Vincent's plan.
Dying at least once in the Road Rage minigame unlocks a new option:
  • REFUSE TO HIJACK THE TRUCK.
Select it. This will unlock the achievement, raise the Suspicion level for Vincent, and unlock a future event.

MEET AND GREET!
Meet Lou Hill.
  • ASK WHO HE IS

BACK SEAT ACTION!
Die in the back of a car.
Talk to Lou twice, then RETRY.
Episode VII
ALONE IN THE DARK!
Die in the emergency exit.
This will work only if you did not follow Vincent's plan. Do the following:
  • GO TO THE LEFT OF THE BAR
  • SIT WITH THE BAHNSEN KNIGHTS
  • TALK
  • TALK TO VINCENT
  • BACK
  • GO TO THE EMERGENCY EXIT
  • GO OUTSIDE
  • RETRY

Search Toni's office
Required for SLEUTH!
This will work only if you lowered Kevin's Suspicion in Episode IV.
Try going to Toni's office. Notice his goons.
Then go to the bar and listen to all of the stories to lower Kevin's Suspicion to 0.
Ask Kevin about the goons and he will create a distraction for you.
Once you enter Toni's office, you will be on a timer, shown in the upper-left corner of the screen. Three pieces of evidence are hidden in random drawers of the desk. You need to do this quickly:
LOOK AT DESK and then repeat the OPEN > CLOSE > NEXT COMPARTMENT cycle until you have all three items. Then close the last compartment and exit. You will always be spotted by Monique, but not meeting the time requirement or keeping a compartment open when leaving will force you to retry.

Housekeeping
Miss anything?
This Episode is your last opportunity to make a Glen's Eye, die after making Kevin snap, or unlock the via crucis solitaire in the main menu.
Episode VIII
Do not go to the barn.


Lockpicking Minigame
Required for multiple achievements.
TRY TO LOCKPICK TRUNKS. The minigame is extremely simple once you realize what you are supposed to do. You have two lockpicks - left and right. You can move each of them up and down across five spaces. This results in a mere 25 combinations based on the following table:

Knowing this, it is easy to quickly scan through all of the combinations - A1, A2, A3, A4, A5, then B5, B4, B3, B2, B1, then C1 and so on. This is necessary, because the combinations are randomized (I think?). Do not attempt to actually open the trunk unless you're sure that you're on the right position - once you set the correct combination, the lock's face will flash, as shown on the gif above. Start with Luca, then Vincent, then leave Monique for last, as this one is special.

SLEUTH!
Discover five pieces of new evidence.
The achievement will unlock if you previously got three pieces of evidence from Toni's office and now got another two from the trunks of Luca's and Vincent's Sierras.

UNBOXING!
Open all trunks.
This achievement will unlock when you open all three trunks.

FAST READER!
Skim a book.
(Is that Johnny-5?) Monique's trunk contains three books. I don't know if it's randomized, but you need to skim through the books to find it. Note that opening a book begins a timed event. You need to skip the messages as fast as possible to get the achievement. Only if you "read" the books this way, you will find a clue in one of them.

Ending Routes
A final choice to make. Save here:

Unlike some other Pixel Pulps, Bahnsen Knights has only one ending, but it can be reached in two ways that result in different achievements. Return to this save later, when you want to explore another route. You don't really need any further save points.

Route A:
After finding the clue, you will automatically CHECK MAP. You need to MARK THE COORDINATES ON THE MAP FOR DIGGING. Ethane is C₂H₆, so MARK FIRST POINT as C2 and MARK SECOND POINT as H6, then GO TO CUPRA'S COORDINATES.

SUPER SLEUTH!
Find a secret evidence stash.

Route B:
BACK out from the map and GO TO THE GRAVEYARD.

HOLMES!
Assign all evidence correctly.
You will be tasked with assigning pieces of evidence to holy cards for the last time. Once again, you can REMEMBER WHAT EACH CARD REPRESENTS and then EXAMINE AVAILABLE EVIDENCE, but this time it's not as obvious. The trick is that you can assign more than one piece of evidence to one card. This is the solution:
  • OUR LADY OF HEALTH - BOTTLE OF PILLS
  • FATHER MARIO - VINCENT'S BULLET
  • SAINT CAJETAN - PROPERTY DEED, TAX DECLARATION
  • MARY UNDOER OF KNOTS - NOTHING
  • SAINT EXPEDITUS - PICTURE

Episode IX
SWIMMING WITH THE FISHES!
Die in the depth of a lake.
Easy to get - just fail to get rid of the covert listening device inconspicuously and RETRY.

DEBUGGING!
Avoid being discovered with a bug.
Ironically, this achievement is unavoidable. As soon as you get control, ROLL DOWN THE PASSENGER'S WINDOW, then TOSS THE MIC and make your selection of PASSENGER'S WINDOW, but don't do it just yet - wait for an opportune moment when neither of the two Bahnsen Knights are looking your way. This is a bit random and might take a few tries.

Route A:

HERE COMES THE CAVALRY!
Extraction by the Agency.
Story-related and unmissable if you followed Route A and discovered the secret stash.

Route B:

AT LEAST YOU TRIED!
Die trying to be a hero.
Fail the combat minigame first, then RETRY.

KUNG FURY!
Kick some butts!
Win the combat minigame. It's very simple - PUNCH to defeat enemies in front of you and KICK to defeat enemies behind you and change your direction at the same time. Use the option to ESCAPE WITH LOU when there are no enemies ready to attack.

Both routes:

ACTION MOVIE HERO!
Big finale!
Complete the final "action" sequence. KICK, then TAKE A LOOK - you need to confirm the option to JUMP when the view outside flashes bright blue.
