@previous comment, "The Perceptive" is the room you just described, the one with the color -> letter key. You can work out the ones in game without the mapping, though it's easier to just have it. Also I've found at least one spot where there was some text encoded in colors not related to a puzzle.

...okay but, i have gotten all the endings but i'm still not sure what "the perceptive" is. i've also found the hidden room in the control center that has the color key in it but i didn't find anywhere i needed it past like a small handful of puzzles i'd already worked out without it lol
