In this game communication is key on all fronts. Whether you're Team Kira, L or even Mello; playing solo without teamwork in mind will either get you voted out or just cause yourself to run into a brickwall and you'll force yourself to listen to a 10 year-old scream their lungs off.

A Majority of you're wins as Team Kira during this Meta with 4 confirmed roles on team L and a Mello running around will be due to world progress or due to Mello being an idiot, that being said if you're careful you could go for the L kill but a majority of the time you won't be able to in time.

𝕋𝔼𝔸𝕄 𝕃 : As team L you want to look out for anyone acting odd with their movement and their patterns, much like in the show you want to focus and follow whoever you believe is Kira to make sure they can't make any moves with the book. Oftentimes depending on your role you can go about this differently but focusing on your tasks is always amazing if the Kira is playing very slowly.

INVESTIGATOR : The most common yet arguably the most important role, keeping a keen eye out for any Kira activity is always great! Of course as soon as vindication is available attempt to go towards it, with this it dwindles down the possible suspects even further.. that being said if you are far from vindication, search for people hiding or avoiding the task. (That being said with so many special roles there is a chance they're Mello or Chief as L and Wateri will attempt to keep away from the task to keep suspicion away.)

CHIEF : The most important role on the entire team with almost no downsides in the slightest. With a vindicated investigator and L with Wateri you will already have 3 roles confirmed without yours in account, of course make sure to SAVE your meeting until it's very crucial as it can quite literally be the deciding factor of the match! Make sure to listen out for anybody accusing others and keep an eye on them, follow them around or even just make sure to listen out for any calls on them and if need be use your alarm. Even if you do end up doing nothing with it your role will be revealed to L and the rest of them team, making it easier to catch Kira.

WATERI : L's spokesman and usually fall-man, honestly a good Wateri allows for more ways to keep L safe while drawing out Kira in a majority of situations. Everyone has their own style for this character along with L, a majority of the time you want to collaborate with L and tell the revealed roles your actually L and vice-versa.. oftentimes this can save L in the end-game when the pressure is really on, using the transceiver and dying message to tag whoever is going to kill you thinking you're L. That being said you most likely will be shot by a rouge Mello due to your more suspicious gameplay.

𝐋 : With this new update you can be alot more aggressive with your traps to lure out Kira, that being said you still need to be careful and due to your movement to avoid others you will be quickly caught-out if not careful. Always assume everyone who isn't confirmed is Kira unless you have solid evidence their not, prioritize your safety over everything else if need be and don't be afraid to rely on Wateri or confirmed investigator. Alongside that communication is absolutely key with Wateri, communicate where vindicate is and who you think is odd; have him and other trusted investigators to follow whoever you and your team believes is team Kira.

𝕋𝔼𝔸𝕄 𝕂𝕀ℝ𝔸 : You know the drill. Kill L and make sure to avoid suspicion as much as possible, if need be throw people under the bus and make sure to never go gun-ho. The biggest issue I find when playing with and as Kira is that oftentimes you can't keep up with 𝕋𝔼𝔸𝕄 𝕃 or when you do try you over-reach and cause your downfall due to misfortune.

KIRA : I find playing slow and safe is usually the best method, to win picking out kills when in the best of situations while using your cards and focusing on building an alibi while killing a criminal here and there quickly. Oftentimes you need to work with your follower as much as you can while being as discrete as possible, doing dummy tasks while even baiting others into thinking someone is suspicious by faking an npc message either by opening your book for a mili-second and investigating it before calling it out and questioning whoever was around during that time.. you can do the same with transceiver but only when in a group of 4 to 5 people to bait some suspicion.
A big bonus of your cards is that they block emergency meeting from being used, a huge underlying fact most people don't utlize.

KIRA FOLLOWER : Play like an investigator, a majority of the time grabbing an ID is too risky with a Mello running around and a Wateri makes it very difficult. Your job is to gain whatever trust you can and rely info to Kira when need be, if they're under suspicion set up a notebook swap and try to save your team from a tragic lost or keep them from being arrested.. if you're found out to be the follower, stick to one person who isn't Kira that isn't confirmed to draw suspicion to them, be a nuisance and either force them to babysit you or get Mello to waste a bullet on you.

𝕋𝔼𝔸𝕄 𝕄𝔼𝕃𝕃𝕆 : You are by yourself. You're not an investigator with a gun, you're a martyr attempting to hide your identity from Team L while keeping a eye on Kira. With the addition of the Chief, your role as a pseudo L 'bodyguard' is gone and you most likely will be voted out which is a huge issue.

That being said, you want to play as an investigator and keep 𝕋𝔼𝔸𝕄 𝕂𝕀ℝ𝔸 guessing on who Mello is while making sure 𝕋𝔼𝔸𝕄 𝕃 doesn't figure out who exactly you are. If need be sometimes killing an investigator who will expose you is necessary, that along with hiding evidence of who Kira is may be needed to win as if team L win you lose. Of course as Mello you need to be cautious with your movements and keep your finger in the trigger, if you see 'criminals' dying then hunt down Kira while even calling it out. Oftentimes people will call out Kira without a second thought if they see Kira, if that happens you need to jump on them as fast as you can to win before those clowns can arrest him.
