gear rolls you need to get
Gloves, Necklaces, Rings and Weapons Can all roll attack damage This means that for most of the entire game, these four. items with this specific role will make up if you get them as soon as possible. about 65 percent of your damage. and if you get them later on in the game, about 40 to 30% of your total damage. not getting these roles means every boss fight. will take significantly longer.

RAW STATS
Armor pieces can also roll. Max health and stamina. stamina is very worth it because you'll always need more of it since this game doesn't have ki pulse And the ratio is actually pretty good at about 30ish making it worth 2 levels per gear roll. health is also pretty worth it so you dont have to spend any points investing in it
Gear level matters a lot and shouldn't be neglected.

The two example weapons I used are only 5 levels apart, yet you can see there's already a 20% base damage difference between them. Every time you enter a new level, you'll be able to grab gear that is about. Three to five levels ahead of the gear from the previous level. You should always hold on to weapons that are the same type that you're using, so you can augment them into the current set weapon you're using so that it's always on level.
stats scale aggressively

As you can see in the picture. Which is with all attack boosting gear taken off, Just 10 levels of main stat, Even with near end of the game base level weapons. It's still a 6% damage boost. And unlike Souls games, there's no caps on the stats. They give you the same bonus all the way from level 10 to level 99. This does mean that realistically, you should just put enough points into stamina to where you feel comfortable. With having a stamina role in all your gear and then for the rest of the game you only level up your main stat. Because after just 30 to 40 levels of mainstat it will start to comprise about 30% of your total damage.
use items they scale hard

As you can see, just using a resin. Automatically gives you 10% elemental damage. Once you get the resin to proc, they all have different effects. But they all end up doing about. An extra 15 or 20% damage to a boss's health. Resins are easy to craft, and you can have pretty much an unlimited number of them fairly early on in the game. Once you've done a boss a few times and you feel like you have it down, there's really no reason not to pop these. As they will reduce the length of the boss fight pretty significantly.
DONT FORGET ABOUT YOUR MEMORIES

This system is very easy to forget about because it's exclusive to this game. But whenever you fully clear a map, as in you gather all the collectibles and all the little pickup papers and stuff, you get memories of vengeance. These can be spent for both a direct damage percent increase and a final damage multiplier increase. I have seen so many people watching friends and streamers play this game that flat out never click this button. Because they assume it's some kind of lore recap. But no, about 20 to 25% of your total damage will come from this once you get the maxed out multiplier percent, because damage multiplier percent near the end of the game becomes your biggest source of damage.
advanced section aka the late game power explosion YOU CANT AFFORD TO MISS
new roles to look out for

So as soon as you reach this tier of equipment. As you can see in the pictures, you can start rolling damage on your boots. And your helmet. You can also start to see damage multipliers come into the equation. Because at blue and purple tier damage multipliers are very rare and only about one point. Two to 2 percent increase, which really isn't anything impressive, however. Once you reach the four to 5% tier and you can now roll them on several pieces of gear. That percent multiplier starts making up a huge chunk of your overall damage output.

the late game power spike.

So as soon as you get access to pink tier gear. Your gear starts to have three rolls. Now something you need to understand is as you go up a tier in gear You get access to new. Brackets. To put this into perspective, Let's say Blues roll two to 5 damage. Purples roll 12 to 20 damage. Pinks can now roll. 20 to 40 damage. So as you go up in gear quality you also go up. In the strength of your roles. So now you need to not just get the role, but actually get the role at appropriate tier.

you need 2 set effects by now

As you can see in the amulet that I'm showing here. You can now start to experiment with jewelry sets. Now you can either use a 5 piece armor set and a 3 piece. Jewelry and weapon set, but I wouldn't really recommend this because. Once you start reaching the final tier of gear, if you've been collecting the jarlings, you can helmets that reduce your set requirements, which actually encourage you to focus more on jewelry sets.

NEVER miss back stab critical hits

as you see i do 10k damage on a critical hit vs an exhausted enemy when i do as back stab BUT only 7k when i do a front stab back stabs do 30% more damage PLUS a 2 piece jewelry set raising it to 50% damage (not used in the pictures above.) obviously you wanna back stab when ever you can but on humanoid bosses ALWAYS dash behind them when they get exhausted your biggest damage spikes come from those critical hits these make them 30 or (50%) more effective

Finished the game and never even knew about the Memories... you're right I totally assumed it was just a lore thing. (and also telling you how many Soulstones/jars you got in a level) Welp guess the next playthrough will be easier haha.

Is it wise to buy the orange jar helmet which gives 7 stat points and -1 set requirement? it costs 32 jarlings. Or should i wait for the 42 costing jar

Legitimately 20 hours into the game, just beat Maluca and learned about the Memories from your guide. I'm both grateful and frustrated haha. Thank you for the guide.

Thanks, actually helpful. Especially the part about where ATK can be rolled.
