Introduction
Nice rougelike bullethell defense thing.. haha dont remember how the genre is called.

This is similar to Nomad Surival or Vampire survivors.. so.. bullethell survival? yeah, lets call them that.

Anyway, I enjoyed my time with this title, it was easy until nightmare corruption 10 past the scarlet bridge then it got complicated, gearing up made the next stages ok but oh boy.. I got every achievement EXCEPT "Beat Ashen Woods on Corruption 10 Nightmare".. that one... THAT ONE let me tell you, took me 4 days to beat!

And I only did it in big part due to the boss getting glitched.. oy boi... :S

Anyway, I made a section specially for him if you are interested in that.

The guide will give some notes I wrote down and explain game mechanics I found a bit complicated but you should check out this good guide to learn the game, is good stuff!

Achievements unlock at the end of the run, so dont worry if it hasnt popped yet while you're still running for your life!

Alright then, here we go!

Edit: Thank you for the awards! ^_^
Tips and Notes
Note on Victory
In the first map, you win by surviving 24 minutes or beating the boss that appears at 23:00hrs.
In later maps, you need to defeat the big boss to get a victory or fulfill a special condition.
The boss usually appears close to midnight and the enemies get more aggressive at night (You'll hear a howl)

Notes on Currency
We have 3 currencies: gold, night gems and blood gems.
Gold is very common pickup and most things can be bought with gold.
Night gems are purple gems and are used for talent unlocks and some abilities.
Blood gems are very rare and are used mainly to upgrade your heroes special ability.

You can also buy enchants for your runes and shiny coins for endless with them

Every map has a loot %, the harder the map and its corruption level, the more currency you can get out of it. For early game, the best way to get currency is to do the tasks in the general tab in the unlockable section.

But in my opinion, if you want lots of currency, gear up and do a decent run on endless mode, to get to endless mode, you need to beat corruption level 10. (more about that later)

Notes on World Map
Maps start with corruption level 1.
As you are victorious corruption levels will unlock.
You can see the current corruption level on the image (orange arrow).

Each map has a gimmick.
- Nightpine and Plaguelands are normal.
- Leviathan's Lair has air bubbles you need to collect or you drown.
- Scarlet Bridge's boss chases you slowly from underneath and you have to kill it or run to the end of the bridge.
- The tower has a vampire statue you need to destroy before midnight.
- Holy island enemies are tanky and fast.
- Ashen Woods is like the island but eviler and you need to get fire spheres or go blind.

The higher the corruption level, the better the loot but the meaner the mobs.

If you gain victory on a map on nightmare mode, you gain 3 corruption levels instead of 1 on that map, sometimes, it bugs out, make sure you see corruption #/ nightmare in the victory screen if you suddenly see you're not getting the 3 corruption skips.

Corruption modifies everything from loot (green arrow) to minibosses and sometimes it even adds curses that penalize you somehow, you can check all these on the right side (see yellow arrow on image).

Once you beat corruption 10, endless mode is unlocked for that map.
Applying nightmare mode will multiply loot but also mob boosts, so be careful.

Remember: You dont NEED to beat the map in nightmare mode to unlock higher corruption levels and endless.

In early maps, on Corruption 10 have an extra boss called the world eater that spawns at the beginning of the run and chases you all through the level, if you kill it, you instantly win.

Each map can drop an instance of specific gear sets (blue arrow on image above), that means only those specific equipment can drop but each equipment has its own random properties (attack speed, armor, spell power, etc) the only thing that is set is well.. the set powers (in case you equip 2 or 4 of the same set), some gear have primary set values, for example; Gloves can only have either magic power or physical power boost as its main primary stat (the first stat up top), helmets always give health but accessories can have any,

Minibosses, bosses and sin quests give out equipment as rewards, sometimes elite mobs (like werewolves) drop some as well.

Rarer version of gear have better and more powerful stats, thats why you want to find legendary or unique equipment.

A unique equipment acts as a wildcard, it counts as a part of any set. (meaning you can have 3 of the heaven set and the unique gloves and still get the 4 piece bonus for the heaven set).

You can only equip two uniques, one for body armor and the other for accessories, so choose wisely.

The guide I mentioned in the introduction has a list of all the equipment in the game, check it out if you want more info.

Notes on where to spend currency
Stat and Talent unlocks, familiar levels, rune enchants, gear and racial abilities are shared between heroes.

The only thing that is not shared are upgrades to individual abilities, like passives and special moves.

I suggest you upgrade greed, gathering range, luck and movement speed with your first thousands of gold. All of those will help you gather even more gold quicker.

You can see what stat does if you hover over it with your mouse, the ones that are not intuitive are:
Greed = Gives you a bit more gold per pick up.
Luck = Makes crystals and chests drop more often from enemies, I think also helps getting rarer choices on level up.
Attack speed = MAIN weapon attack speed (doesn't affect other weapons you can use at level up)
Spell acceleration = Makes you attack faster with NON main weapons.
Spirit = Gives you a multiplier to your heals and shield effects.

Some stats have a max cap:
Both Armors caps at 80%.
Attack speed caps at 90%.
Spell Acceleration caps at 70%.
Critical chance at 100%.
Summons at 5 (a gear set gives you a +2 on this).
Allies (that join through quests) do not count towards your minion count.

After you upgrade the stats, go ahead and upgrade Talents you think that can be used by all heroes, you might want to spend some night gems on a level or two of your favored heroes abilities as well.

Talent bonuses do not show up in the stats page, you can see their effect on the pause screen during the run.

It is important to know the caps so you dont waste resources in increasing a stat beyond its cap, for example, leave your build at 85% attack speed so you can reach 90% with 5 faith points picked when you level up or DONT equip that acceleration rune if your gear already has 25% attack speed and you reach near cap.

Notes on enchanting runes
Sometimes you can find runes during your run, you can go to the runes interface and equip them, different runes give different powers.

1) To enchant a rune, first you need to buy "Enchants".
Click on buy (#1) to stock up on runes.
2) Then click on the rune you want to enchant, either the one you have equipped or in the inventory (#2), to equip a rune, click on it in the inventory and the option ro equip will appear.
3) Now click on "Use" (#3), the enchant will appear on the right side.
4) Finally, click on "Enchant" on the right side to level up the rune.

*The more enchants at once, the more likely your rune will go up two levels and be successfully enchanted, the chances also go up the better the enchant you apply (lesser, medium, greater).

Max Enchant is +25, the enchant bonuses are NOT shown on the hero stats page, you will see their effect only when you pause the game during a run.

Notes on achievements and unlocks
The unlock tab has challenges you need to do to unlock from weapons to new heroes, all achievements have an unlock but not all unlocks have a tied-in achievement.

Other notes:
Disable auto-leveling on the settings, autoleveling slows down your gameplay, I always level once I have 3 or 5 levels on the counter for faster gaming.

Dont forget to use your hero's special attack, its R on keyboard or RT button on controller, too bad we cant reconfigure keys/buttons :(

The race ability Vampirism constantly drains your HP during the day, it sucks, I hate it.

The ghosts conjured by the offensive talent on the 1st row works with the one on the 2nd row that gives +15%DMG for each ally, giving you a total of +75% max, summons and champions do not count for this.

Check the bestiary to see which type of attack an enemy does (magic or physical) and adjust the type of armor you are using accordingly.

Max XP level is 300 if you were wondering.
Kills and Weapons
Kill Achievements
Kill X number of enemies, these achievements will eventually unlock as you play the game, some monsters only appear on certain maps, to unlock new maps you just have to win on the current map once.

Some of these goals unlock useful weapon options for you to pick when you level up in future runs.
General Unlocks (Gives currency)
- (30) Slimes
- (30) Zombies
- (100) Goblins

Boss Kills Unlocks (General tab)
- Vorgron [Scarlet Bridge]
- Vorax [Scarlet Tower, any victory]
- Beat the Scarlet Tower in Corruption 10
- Beat Holy Island inCorruption 10, Nightmare.
- Beat Ashen Wood at corruption 10 in Nightmare mode (Hardest Achievement)*
- Beat Lord Belarius at corruption 10 in Nightmare mode (Rarest Achievement)**

* I got a separate section for killing Wolfy on corruption 10, Nightmare.

** Belarus can appear in any map on corruption 9+, its a rare event, for the achievement you need to defeat him on corruption 10, killing him on endless mode wont trigger this achievement.
I did this on plaguelands, basically I ran away from World eater until Belarus appeared, if the Flesh Demon appeared, I would have tried to run away from him too.

*** There are a few more defeat X achievements but for those check the Heroes & powerups section

Kill World Eater

This Boss shows up if you play at corruption level 10, killing it gives you the victory, he only shows up in the first 3 maps and you get an achievement for killing him in each one.
Weapon unlocks by upgrading weapons
Successfully level up a weapon to maximum during a run to unlock achievements and more weapons, once unlocked, these weapons might show up during level ups and chests.

- Upgrade Fire Staff to Rank V and get the Hellfire staff.
- Upgrade Frost Staff to Rank V and get the Glacial Staff.
- Upgrade Glacial Staff to Rank V and get the Frost Scythe.

The Seven Sins
As you make way into your run you will find black/purple ? marks, these are small sidequests, there are 7 different ones.

1) The lazy stranger will make you pickup 3 cups and return. (Sloth)
2) The beauty statue will make you dodge their pushback attacks for 30 seconds. (Envy)
3) A tree will challenge you to stay near it for 30 seconds. (Gluttony)
4) A pig robber will try and run away from you holding a bag, kill him. (Greed)
5) A succubus will shoot at you while flying away, kill her. (Lust)
6) An enemy will appear larger than normal, kill it. (Pride)

7) Killing the random Boss Bellarius (Wrath)

Do all seven and you'll get.

Seven Deadly Sins
Beat the 7 Deadly Sins events in Nightmare mode

Survival Achievements
Surviving for 24 minutes in the first map will get you all these, easy with a decent build in endless mode.

No damage taken achievements
For the "no damage" achievements, stack spell power on Amelia with magic attack as its main weapon and run a Corruption 10 on Nightmare, My gear boosted my magic attack by 750% and her left passive ability gives +500% more, once you enter the map, you should have close to 2500% magic power you can kill World Eater in under a minute.

You can use this method to quickly unlock the familiar achievements "win with X familiar on plagueland"

* These 3 achievements stack, if you win on corruption 10 Nightmare all 3 achievements will unlock.

There is one more "dont take damage" achievement that you need to do on endless mode, check the endless mode section for that one.
Heroes, Familiars and Powerups
Hero Unlocks and Supremacies
Most heroes need special requirements to unlock.

To get the supremacy achievement, you need to complete any map at Corruption level 10 on Nightmare mode, since you are going to do that, might as well do Plaguelands map at Corruption 10 and kill the world eater as fast as you can to also get their mastery achievement unlocked.

Default Heroes
* Vylat and Ninn are the heroes available to you at the start, you dont have to unlock them but you do need to beat the plaguelands map with them for mastery.

Veromous
Defeat Death at Corruption Level 1 or higher
Lance
Upgrade Thunder Staff to Rank V to unlock.

Rhys
Upgrade Holy Bible to Rank V to Unlock

Allure
Kill 5000 enemies at Nighttime.

Lyah
*Lyah will randomly show up during nighttime in either the first or second map, get close to her to unlock her, look for yellow ? markers.

Maeve
* You need to have a victory with the Knife of Darkness equipped (Corruption Robe+Knife)

Amelia
*You need to kill Death, the boss from the first map, in Nightmare mode in less than 30 seconds, he usually appears around 23:00 hours and you need to kill it before the clock reaches 24:00.

Having powerful fusion weapons that align with your chosen main attack (magic or physical) goes a long way to kill it quickly. Don't forget runes, the power rune gives a whooping +48% to dmg at +25.
Im pretty sure this can be done on endless too.

Crowley
*To unlock him, you need to Defeat Duskfang (Ashen Woods Boss) in Nightmare mode.

Familiar Unlocks
*Im not 100% sure how you find lost eggs in a run but it might be a random event just like the others, I found most of them in the first and second maps.

The last three familiars have their own special way to unlock:
- Wisp (Beat Holy Island on Corruption 10)
- Bloodwing: (Beat Ashen Woods on Corruption 10)
- Roger: (Get a Unique drop; easy and fast if you can kill world eater on nightmare under a minute)

Powerups Unlock
Doing these next ones will unlock power ups that are not unlocked by doing hero's supremacies.

Check out this guide's section on powerups to see what the powerups do.
https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3373618699

- (10000+) Any enemy (unlocks Phys Dmg Boost)
- (5) Map victories using only magic weapons (unlocks Magic Dmg Boost)
- (1000+) Brain enemy (unlocks Armor Boost) [Found in Plagueslands]
- (10) Pink jellyfish (unlocks Magic Armor Boost) [Elite mobs in leviathan's Lair)
- (100) pieces of food gathered (unlocks Health Boost)
Mastery Achievos
For some reason, a lot of achievements need you to beat Plaguelands map.

For faster collection, do a Corruption 10 and Nightmare with your offense stacked, full speed attack, Phys or Magic power above 2500%, Crit chance above 70% and Crit Damage around 300% should help you kill the World Eater under a minute and get all of these right quick.

You need a victory with every familiar and with the first 7 heroes on Corruption 9+ (use 10) on the plaguelands map, it doesnt have to be on Nightmare mode but if you can, do it on nightmare to be able to farm World Eater's Unique drop.

i think these gives you currency when achieved but cant remember.

Heroes
Familiars
Champion Achievements
As you get a specific faction weapon (smith, necromancer, templar, etc), when you fully upgrade it, you will be able to find its champion as an event during your run and when you finish their small quest, they will join you.

I think the harder one to find is the engineer but he often shows up on endless mode, not sure if a specific mastery triggers him or not.
Other Achievements
Most of these will reward you with currency and are found in the Unlockables tab under General.

Against Time
Beat Corruption 9 in any map before 22 minutes.

Alchemist and Master Alchemist
Buy potions (12, 30) from the vendor.

Weapon Master
Create 10 different weapon fusions.

Pickups
*You need to fuse 10 different weapons, not all fusions count, Im sure I fused all weapons you get from levels up together and it didnt unlock until I fused a vender bought weapon with a level up one (i fused frost scythe and fire scythe and finally got it)

Red Empire
Collect 1,000 blood gems.

Hard To Please
Collect 5 Equipment Banish in a single run

Critical Roll
Collect 20 Re-roll dice in a single run

The Forge
Get 3 pieces of equipment

Ready for Combat
Equip 6 Legendary items on the same character

Master of Enchament
Enchant 6 items up to +20

*Harder than you think, it costs a lot of scrap to enchant those things, you can either make a good build and farm equipment on endless mode or quickly farm the world eater in a Nightmare Corruption 10 map, killing him in 30 seconds or so gives you potentially legendaries and uniques to scrap quickly.

Scarlet King
Beat all maps at corruption 10 in Nightmare mode

Thankfully you only need to beat up to Holy Island for this one, but it doesnt matter much since you DO need to beat Ashen Woods for the hardest one.
Endless mode
You could get some of these on normal mode but I felt endless was just right to grab these achievos.

I Can Do This All Day
Survive 1 full day in Endless Mode

World Dance Champion
In Endless Mode, make it until nightfall without taking damage

(Un)Limited Edition
Buy something exclusive to Infinite Mode from the Seller (Smuggler), needs Shiny Coins which you can get in the last tab on the main interface.

Endless mode notes
* On endless mode, bosses show up at the correct time they should every day but as the day goes along, the corruption level goes up and up so enemies get tougher and faster every minute.

Nevertheless, these achievements are easy if you have enough movement speed and use weapons that circle around you as defense and offense, like a fusion of the holy bible or Allure's sun shield passive. Focusing on movement speed and shield, as long as they dont hit you while your shields are down, you should have dance champion easy and if you can achieve that, running for the whole 18~20 minutes until you arrive at Day 2 should be easy.

Be warned, you can only pick around 8 or 12 non-weapon skills, eventually, you can only pick up loyalty points which go up to 100 (yeah, an hour in, I had 100% greed and luck and all that neat stuff of each loyalty point).

For skills I suggest things that boost your spell/physical power, if you use minions, have something to heal them.

Buy all the potions you can, they work wonderfully.

Also don't forget to enchant your runes, upgrade your talents and stats and even familiars!

If you still need help, farm epic or better equipment, you want spell acceleration, movement speed and spirit (spirit makes your shields and heals better).

Oh, also powerups! Some challenge unlocks will make power ups appear on the map, like eating 100 food will make green cross powerup appear randomly which will permanently boost your max HP, they're good.

Check out the powerup section on this guide for more info:
https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3373618699
Ashen Woods Corruption 10 on Nightmare

Full Moon
Beat Duskfang at corruption 10 in Nightmare mode

The hardest achievement in the game.

I spent 2 days farming gear just to find the right equipment and pray for the enchant gods to give me the power to beat that map! I tried magic power + crit build but I was dying too fast, so I switched to power, armor, luck, health.

You see, i suck at dodging so using "SKILL" wasnt an option for me, I had to brute force it.
Since I couldnt dodge because I usually ran out of light, I needed to kill the wolfy as soon as his HP bar showed up in the lower left corner.

So since Amelia can stop time and this boss doesnt use ranged attacks, if I react fast, I can freeze time and kill it.
The problem is having enough DPS to kill it in under 12 seconds AND survive the night since those giant babies have high defense against magic and are chunky HP-wise, so they will block your way as you run to the next stupid, awful, B.S. mechanic of getting enough "torches" to see.

Getting gold and gear
Enchanting is expensive and reforging is a costly lootbox rrng nightmare but you gotta do it if you need the extra help!

I personally either farmed the Scarlet Bridge boss on endless for fast uniques, uniques sell for a lot, enough to earn you a shiny coin.

But I found the best way is to make a strong idle build at Endless Nighmare in Holy Island with 200% or more Greed. After 2 hours, your inventory will be full and you'll have around 10 million gold coins, exit the map, check the gear you had, either scrap or sell. Repeat.

Chests! Chests everywhere!

The hard part is getting the idle build past the first night, as the angel comes in hard and fast and you dont have your best gear because youre wearing double 120% Greed Accessories.

What stats to focus on for Ashen Woods Corruption 10 Nightmare?

Forget about criticals, you'll get cursed -50% Critical Chance and -100% Critical Damage, seeing a roll on a gear can give you between 5~25% Chance and from 30 to 120% critical, its kinda expensive trying to balance it out.

So, better focus on raw power, armor (not magic), attack speed, spell acceleration, health and a bit of luck and spirit.

If you are in time to choose, I suggest you focus on Physical Power since the big baby monsters that appear at night have a whooping 90 armor against magic but the thing is, most cool weapons use magic power not physical, so keep this in mind.

As for shiny coins, its better to spend them trying to top-off any stats that need capping AFTER you get your gear set ready, have 87% attack speed? use shiny coins to start with 90%.

Yes, you can choose some loyalty skills to close the gap but in Corruption 10 Nightmare every level choice counts and its best to get that weapon fusion early and not wasting a level picking a Loyalty.

So, which gear stat picks are better?
Health is great, you can get thousands of health from a good roll, so dont even bother wasting Shiny coins on the stupid +20HP upgrade.

Check this data and decide:
The number is () is the lowest number you can get on a gear in a secondary stat.
4 (Four) shiny coins gets you:
HP: +80 (540)
Health Regen: +0.4 (10.8) [What a scam!]
Spirit: +1% (+18%) [Another scam!]
Armor, Magic Armor, Attack Speed, Spell Acceleration: +1% (5.4%) [Good deals!]
Magic/Phys Power: +1% (72%) [What a rip-off!]
Crit Damage: +12% (36%)

The smuggler doesnt sell the other stats so if you want them, its gotta be rolled into gear.

Check this guide for more info on stats, gear sets, the smuggler, everything really.
https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3373618699

As for more ideas, you could load extra into gear or buy with shiny to remove a talent or rune, for example, getting 25% attack speed with a high attack speed gear roll or buy all 50 smuggler attack speed so you can remove either the rune or the talent and use another thing instead.

Gear Powers
I tried a lot of their powers but they were marginally useful, maybe the extra movement speed or spell power. but draining 25HP is nothing when you have 15000 HP to fill and a hit deals 8000 damage. maybe the 15% chance to block any attacks might be good but I never saw the difference, i still died pretty quick when night came in the C10N AW.

I dont know, if you have a nice suggestion leave it in the comments and I'll add it here :)

In the end...
I maxxed out the smuggler on armor, attack speed, spell accel. (Bought 50 times spending 150 coins) with the remaining coins, I got some HP too.

But actually, in the end... Wolfy bugged out, kinda.. and I was able to kill him because he sort of glitch froze (or maybe I picked an Amelia powerup), I dont know, his HP bar appeared and it was the longer time until he found me, I just.. kept going for the damn torches.

Wind totems <3

I tried the build on this guide but it didnt quite work for me:
https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3381143254
Still, its a nice guide to read to try and build a nice Amelia setup.
I do believe having at least 10k HP and full phys armor is crucial.

Ill provide screenshots of my setup for reference.

Gear
Stats

** Remember these stats are pre-talents and before rune bonuses and also before map curses..

Talents
Offensive:
The ones that give 5 ghosts, boosting my damage up to +75% (combine necro with dark linik).
Massacre + Glass cannon + Executioner.

Defensive:
+25% max HP
Block shield every 20 seconds
Invuln time +1.5s on hit
+25% XP
Rebirth (In case I died, saved me once)

I tried a burn setup but I wasnt healing enough with it OR doing enough damage with Burning.

Runes
The ones that give extra DMG, Move Speed, Attack Speed, Spell Acceleration so i can start the run with most of them at max (only buying Faith for extra Luck and HP).

I also had the Bargain Rune, buying damage potions is crucial and if you can get the +3m extra gathering range is very nice too.

I completely gave up on crits for this build.

Other:
I used Wisp familiar for that 3 second invuln every 30s and quick charge for my tiem freeze, in hindsight, I should have picked another one, maybe Hoot?

As for Smuggler bonuses, I already wrote about them up there but here is a screenshot of the stats.

Anyway, wish you luck with this achievement! if you have any tips for others about it, leave a comment, Ill add it here for others to see. Take care!

Die, doggy, die!
Bugs I found

If the controller disconnects, you'll need to restart the game for it to work again.

Endless mode in Scarlet bridge gets silly if you let the bosses stack (as in you dont kill it before midnight on day 2 arrives)

Sometimes equipment gets stuck to you and wont be gathered, dont worry though, after you finish that run, exit the game and reload and the equipment should be there.

If you play maps "again" and get more and more loot, once you are back in the inventory, any action you do to the equipment is not shown to the player (but correctly applied) so you could pick an item to sell and it wont show it gone after the action, you need to reload the game to correctly see the inventory.

If you have auto-level enabled, when you finish off the boss or the world eater, the game will pause for you to level up and THAT makes you unable to gather the equipment drops and in 2 seconds, you are taken to the victory screen and you'll miss the loot.

Sometimes enemies get stuck in place when using Amelia, they dont get untuck after time freeze I guess.

Chests get stuck outside the bridge on Scarlet Bridge.

You can actually kill the vampire statue before it turns into the Vampire in Scarlet Tower (not sure if feature ot bug)

Sometimes, nightmare mode doesnt apply to the map even if you chose it on the map menu.

Stupid lanterns on Ashen Wood run out too fast and sometimes disappear when you get close to them without being gathered.

The enchant bonuses are NOT shown on the hero stats page, you will see their effect only when you pause the game during a run.

The sell and scrap options on the forge doesnt work.

Sometimes sin events appear in the same place and you can see a statue pride event on top of a lazy moose event and well, its almost impossible to do both at once.

Gold/Crystal Pillars stop working after a while on Endless mode, maybe its the movement speed and how fast they spawn? idk, I havent seen this bug in non-endless modes.

If you dash near the moment the game pauses to grant you victory or defeat, you might continue the run but being unable to move further.. or quit.. the only escape is ALT+F4.

@Greek God Hey, thx for stopping by!
Minibosses, bosses and sin quests give out equipment as rewards, sometimes elite mobs (like werewolves) drop some as well.
Sometimes the game bugs out and the equipment doesnt show up in the inventory properly, restart the game and for uniques, yeah, each area boss has a chance to drop a specific unique, the gear you may get is also tied to the area youre playing (you can see which non-uniques you can get on the world map top right)
Greek God 24 May @ 2:30am
Thx for this
How or where do i find equipment i just checked i don’t have a single piece.
Do they drop on specific difficulties?
