To get the playstation button prompts ingame while using ps pad wireless:

Start the game with steam input disabled! do this by right clicking the game in steam >properties>controller then when you are at the main menu bring up the steam overlay and enable steam input.
Now you should have the correct button prompts in game. Unfortunately you need to do this every time you load the game.
