🛡️ Antivirus Notice
This program may be flagged by some antivirus software because it’s a custom .exe generated with PyInstaller.
It does not contain any malware — you can check the source code yourself on GitHub.
If in doubt, run the .py version directly using Python.
What is treegen-pinegen?
Pssst. Hey.

Hey, you.

Want to generate some custom voxel trees?
You know, actual, physical models and not just flimsy voxscript procedurals?

Use my free generator on:
GitHub[github.com]
Itch․io[ngnt-creations.itch.io]
Exports directly to MagicaVoxel format.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
How do I use them?
Step 1:
Open treegen-pinegen.exe and allow it through your antivirus (yeah, it probably popped up). Once it’s running, you’ll see this:

Treegen Controls:

  • Size – Tree height. Lower = smaller, higher = taller.

  • Trunk Size – Controls trunk and branch thickness.

  • Spread – Adjusts how far branches fan outward.

  • Twist – How much the tree twists.

  • Leafiness – Amount of leaves.

  • Gravity – Leaf droop. Lower = droopier, higher = more upright.

  • Iterations – Tree complexity.

  • Wide – Adjusts leaf vs trunk width. 0 = wide leaves, 1 = wide trunk.

  • Seed – Generates variation. Change this to avoid repeats.

Pinegen Controls:

  • Size – Overall tree height.

  • Twist – Twistiness of trunk and tree.

  • Trunk Size – Trunk thickness.

  • Trunk Height – Height where leaves start.

  • Branch Density – Number of branches.

  • Branch Length – How far branches extend.

  • Branch Direction – 0 = droopy, 1 = upright.

  • Leafiness – Number of leaves per branch.

  • Leaf Radius – Leaf size.

  • Leaf Stretch – Droopiness of individual leaves.

  • Leaf Bias – Leaf cluster direction: -1 = downward, +1 = upward.

  • Seed – Randomization control.

Step 2:
Choose your texture from the palette dropdown.

Step 3:
Click the “Generate Tree” button. Your tree will be saved as a .vox file in the program’s folder as either treegen_output.vox or pinegen_output.vox.

Step 4:
Drop the new .vox file into your map directory and load it in your map editor.

Tips
Tree don't look right? Move sliders and try again.

It's better to keep the sliders from going fully one way or the other. Unless you want a tiny stick or something larger than yesterday's morning constitution.

If needed, remove the wider chunk at the base of the tree trunk in MagicaVoxel. Or just put it in the ground so no one will see it, cuz why not.

Please note: This is as simple as a program can get. Because of that, your antivirus will probably hate it and yell at you that my programs are going to infect your PC and run off with your life's valuables. Neither of that will happen. Add an exception, and carry on.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Is it right for me?
Yeah.

instead of using the tree voxscript that only places procedural trees when the map loads, these programs make actual physical vox files that you can then place wherever the heck you want.
For instance, this reduces load time dramatically if you replace these trees with your voxscript trees.

From Discord under modding-and-tutorials-info:
"Voxscript was never planned to be released and might be replaced with something proper one day, so support will be limited but here is the documentation of the current implementation:

NGNT  [author] 20 Apr @ 2:03pm

Everyone please know that the antivirus flag is not me trying to hack you. It's a false positive because of how the program is built. I am not the leet hacker. I just want everyone to make trees!
