I think part of the problem with blight damage is that it can refer to so many different things: disease, poison, acid, or even perhaps radiation. The last of these is perhaps the closest thing to WoW's fel magic but isn't as tied to nature as the first three. AoW's closest equivalent to fel is probably miasma or ghostfire, maybe. Since AoW equivalents don't really match WoW's lore, I'm going to respect the author's decision. It wasn't ever going to be an exact fit between the two games' lore and the author had to make a decision.
