The Internation version of Dragon Quest XI includes only Japanese audio. The interface and subtitles remain in English.



It's very sad, as the game is perfect for language learners. The only ultimate solution is to set your store to JP region and to buy the game again 😎

Huge thanks to the work of mike9k1[next.nexusmods.com], it’s possible to install full Japanese in this version of the game.

Visit the following mod pages and download the latest versions:

• JP-Style UI (v. 0.0.4)[www.nexusmods.com]: Japanese UI for improved readability
  
• JPText (v. 0.0.8)[www.nexusmods.com]: Japanese text with furigana support

After a successful download, your files should look like this:

1. Extract both archives
   Use 7-zip[www.7-zip.org] or native OS tools.
   
   After extraction you should see two .pak files.
   
   
   
   
2. Locate installation folder
   In Steam right click on Dragon Quest XI, select Properties, go to the Local Files tab, and click on Browse Local Files.
   
   The path should look like this:
   
   ...\steamapps\common\DRAGON QUEST XI S\
   
   
3. Navigate to Paks directory
   Game → Content → Paks
   
   ...\steamapps\common\DRAGON QUEST XI S\Game\Content\Paks\
   
   
4. Copy the two .pak files into this folder
   Drag and Drop magic
   
   After installation it should look like this:
