Comprehensive Guide to Precursor Benefits
By bird stuck in home depot
Now that choosing your own Precursor have been added, here's a comprehensive list of each of their rewards/benefits. This guide lists mechanics only; it does not discuss strategy, story, or lore. Menial rewards are not listed for sake of brevity.

How to select your Precursor
After creating your empire and selecting 'play,' you will be met with the 'Game Details' screen.

In this screenshot, I am guaranteed to receive the Cybrex.

Once there, select 'Advanced Settings' and scroll about halfway down until you see the 'Precursors' section.

By default, you probably have all of them selected. If you deselect all but one, you are guaranteed to receive it.

Note: I've heard reports of Precursors currently being bugged with the latest update. Further testing is needed to determine whether this is related to selecting just one or if it affects them in general. Either way, hopefully we can anticipate a patch.

To clarify, selecting a small number, or only one precursor doesn't guarantee that it will spawn near you, so it might get found by an AI empire at the other side of the galaxy and you might not get any precursor in your run if you select too few :) . So in your screenshot, you're not guaranteed to get the Cybrex, you're just guaranteed not to get any other precursor, and if you're really lucky, you can get the Cybrex if it spawns near you and you get there before any other empire :)
