Character Affection & How to Get the Desired Ending
This guide explained the factors that affect the ending and how to achieve a specific ending using these factors.

Note that this guide is made for the reworked demo build (May 2025) and the content may be changed in the future.

Factors Affecting the Endings
  • Theo’s Affection: Whether Theo likes you.
  • Theo’s Route: Whether you are open to romancing Theo.

  • Oscar’s Affection: Whether Oscar likes you.
  • Oscar’s Route: Whether you are open to romancing Oscar.

  • Accuracy points: Whether you earn enough accuracy points during the deduction phase. Correct answers earn you points, wrong answers result in negative points.

How to Achieve the Endings Using These Factors
  • Ending 1 - Detective Duo. This is Good Ending under Theo's route.
    - Get high accuracy points.
    - Gain at least 2 points for Theo’s affection.

  • Ending 2 - Gala of Generosity. This is Good Ending under Oscar's route.
    - Get high accuracy points.
    - Lock down the date with Oscar during his interview session when you show him the invitation.

  • Ending 3 - A Good Day’s Work. This is Good Ending without following anyone's route.
    - Get high accuracy points.
    - Avoid both Theo’s and Oscar’s routes.
    - If you gain Oscar’s affection, yet choose Florence for the interview, you will get ending 3 with enough accuracy points.
    - If you choose Oscar for the interview, don’t lock down the date with Oscar when you show him the invitation.

  • Ending 4 - Not Up to Snuff. This is Neutral Ending and it doesn't affected by anyone's route.
    - Get enough accuracy points, which is only possible if you choose “Warrior” in the “Which one is it?” question in the deduction phase and does not answer with two wrong evidence in a row.

  • Ending 5 - Mysteries Aplenty. This is Bad Ending under Oscar's route.
    - Lock down the date with Oscar during his interview session when you show him the invitation.
    - Get bad accuracy points in the deduction phase by answering “Scribe/Parasitic” in the “Which one is it?” question, or “Warrior” with “Makeup” and “Photographs” in the next question: “What is the evidence?”

  • Ending 6 - Bottle Blues. This is Bad Ending without following anyone's route.
    - Get bad accuracy points in the deduction phase by answering “Scribe/Parasitic” in the “Which one is it?” question, or “Warrior” with “Makeup” and “Photographs” in the next question: “What is the evidence?”
    - If you choose Oscar for the interview, don’t lock down the date with Oscar when you show him the invitation.

  • Ending 7 - The Death of Faeology. This is the Worst Ending.
    - Answer “No” in the first question of the deduction phase: “Is there faerie involvement?”

Choices to Gain Points for Theo’s Affection
  • Reach out for the box to check. (Question: What should I do with this information?)
  • Ask more about his thoughts. (Question: What should I do next?)
  • Try to make him see reason. (Question: What should I do?)
  • Accept the challenge. (Question: Do I?)

Choices to be on Oscar’s Route
  • Mr. Henkle. (Question: Whom should I interview?)
  • Confirm the date. (Question: Should I lock it down?)

Choices to Gain Points for Oscar’s Affection
This is intended for ch.1 and further.
  • Yes. (Question: Should I be hyperbolic?)
  • Be coy. (Question: How do I want to play this?)
  • He and I are old news. (Question: How should I answer?)
  • It’s nothing special. (Question: Oscar: "How'd that visit go?")

Choices for Full Accuracy Points
  • During the investigation on the desk, you must discover a dead parasitic fae by hovering the blacklight on top of the coin until it turns into a burnt-textured coin with smoke, and then keep hovering on top of that coin until it turns into a dead fae.
  • Yes. (Question: Is there faerie involvement?)
  • Warrior. (Question: Which one is it?)
  • (Question: What is the evidence?)
    - Third victim’s blood sample
    > The blood is faerie blood (Question: How do the purple traces, or parasitic magic as you say, have a part in this?)
    - Dead fae
    > A failed transformation magic (Question: And how does it end up here?)
    - Ring
    > It’s a part of transformation magic (Question: But why does it glow purple as well?)
  • Warriors replaced victims with changelings, then killed the changelings with ossification and hallucination spells. (Question: Give it to me straight — how do you figure the murders were carried out?)
  • Warriors are targeting people blessed by the scribes. (Question: Based on your investigation, what could be the rationale behind the warrior faeries' actions?)

Additional Clues
Discover additional clues using the instructions below. This information appears at the end of the deduction phase if you have enough accuracy points, or in the form of the MC’s thoughts during the second investigation.
