Description
The Teresh-class destroyer is a series of 10 ships improved upon the Solaventus-class. The main difference of the Teresh is the replacement of the 5 single 152mm guns with three twin 152mm turrets instead. This gave the ships a extra gun, and matching the anti-air capabilities of the Inebu. The deck space saved allowed the REWR-9 radar to be placed aft instead of blocking the forward visibility of the bridge. Additionally, the space for the original super firing fore turret could not be used to mount four ASM-3 launchers, improving the ship's defenses. Like the Solvanetus, it is armed with 05m deck guns primarily firing illumination shells for night combat. As the Teresh were built simultaneously alongside the Icena-class frigates, the amidship torpedoes were modified to be able to utilize post-launch gyro for curve ahead and abaft spreads based on lessons learned from the Icena. The space savings of the Teresh due to the reduction in gun mounts and their associated machinery allowed for a dramatic increase in fuel capacity. The Teresh-class managed to double its operational range to 12,000 km. This improved flexibility suddenly opened doors for the Khertland navy to send escorted convoys to Izakhia with fuel to spare. This in turn affected the Icena-class range requirements. The Teresh, much like its Solvanetus and Uriel predecessors proved to be very unstable ships and rolls a lot even in relatively calm sea states. However, the ships were appreciated by the navy for its affordability, respectable heavy anti-air armament, robust soft-kill defensive measures, powerful torpedo armament, and the extremely long operational range. The class was so successful, the planned Akhet-class was cancelled in favor of expanding the Teresh-class destroyers. Together with the Uriel and Solaventus class, the ships were referred to by sailors as 'bobbleheads' due to the large bridge structure and their tendency to roll.

The navy plans on having 3 ships in each convoy. Following the same logic as with the Icenas, one destroyer was considered enough anti-air firepower for light air attacks, a but wanted a second one in case some ships have to break off, and a third destroyer as back-up for the return trip in case one is damaged or sunk en-route. Originally 4 escort groups were planned, but a later memo down scaled that to 3. One undergoing maintenance or repairs. One en-route to Izakhia, and another on the return trip. 6 more escort groups is also planned in the future for supporting a dedicated long-range raiding force, however they have not been ordered yet due to the lack of larger surface combatants that warrant so many destroyers.

___________________________________________________________
The Teresh is able to fend off against the three Squirrels, which was a major requirement for air-defense. As such, it should be able to deal with less agile planes as well. Destroyers are meant to deal with small light aircraft that one would traditionally consider "planes." The ships lack firepower to deal with the giant airships-in-disguise planes however. The Teresh is also tested against some Godly ships. I didn't bother testing against every ship, but the Teresh at equal cost (15 ships) can beat the Megalodon and a few other large ships. In practice, that is a lot of destroyers, so I don't expect this to be used at late-game; but just a testament to its cost efficiency against campaign crafts.

Since I ran out of space on the Icena's description, I will say it here. I tested the Icena against every submarine of which it only loses to the Tsunami, Wolin, Cherenkov, and Tolerance, adjusted for cost in which some of those are close calls. So the Icena, have a pretty good track record against majority of submarines in-game. Improvements can always be made, but there are challenges when keeping to the realistic theme which I'm trying to push the limits of. Anyways, the recent classes of ships have been a steady improvement on in-game performance which I have been fairly happy about. If that is what you are looking for, these are, Solaventus, Icena, Inebu, Teresh, and Rosha. The Sivantse is more a personal vanity project than efficiency. I really want to get more cruisers out, but they take a long time to make, and significant time investment on a potentially bad design. Smaller ships allow me to iterate quickly and learn lessons without putting in days of work. Also, I have a limit on how much ships of specific types I want since I don't want Khertland to have like a fleet of 100 battleships, 200 cruisers, or some fantastical amount of ships. Given that cruisers and battleships are more limited, I don't want to eat up all the available slots with bad designs. Frigates and destroyers have much higher limits, so working things out as much as possible on those first leaves me more slots when I am ready for the big ships.
