Introduction

"Taste the Blood as you follow your Divine Hate until you realize... Devils Never Cry"

Remember this game doesn't fool around, even OST wants you dead.

Please read this guide only on the Steam PC client, because the mobile app messes everything up.
Hell Vanguard

Freakshow always screams before the leap attack.

Tip: there's a tight moment right after the leap attack, when it can be hit (check out the gif)
Apart from trickster, royal guard is also an good option. But honestly the fastest method is to kill it within one quicksilver run (not fun for me though)

Recommended Devil Arm: beowulf (has damage increase against it)

Also hell Vanguard is the easiest enemy to practice JC on. As a keyboard player for me it's easier to do JC with A&R but the most popular is beowulf's "killer bee".

About the shop.....worry not, Enzo'll take care of it.... as always....

Cerberus

Fine dog, one of my favourite boss fights.

Recommended Devil Arm: Agni and Rudra or Nevan (both have increased damage)

First break the ice. Though I don't recommend wasting time on his paws.

Every head has its own unique attack (distinguish by eyes - red, yellow, blue)
Red-eyed - freezes floor.
Yellow-eyed - summons falling ice crystals.
Blue-eyed - spits large ice crystal.

The dog has two phases:
In the first phase you can make it fall on the ground by bursting it with big damage - check out the gif. (in second phase it won't fall)
There will be a special one-shot attack symbolizing the second phase with its skin's color change.
Every unique attack is enhanced in this phase and Cerberus charges faster.
I strongly recommend in second phase killing yellow-eyed head first.

Personally i prefer royal guard strategy, but the easiest is trickster + Spiral spam in the corner (hit two heads simultaneously).

Gigapede

Annoying bastard until you realize you can stand on it.

Best strategy is to deflect its purple beam attacks with A&R - deals massive damage (check out the gif). You can also deflect it with some of nevan's attack.

+Just hit its head until it stay down and call it a day.

Recommended Devil Arm: Agni and Rudra.

There's also spiral + royal guard 3lvl barier-ability strategy. Spiral's shot penetrates whole its body, while royal guard ''ultimate'' blocks all its attacks.

Agni and Rudra

Not even sure what to begin with... They can be very annoying sometimes if you're doing SS run.

In this boss fight camera is also your enemy (at least for me because I'm a keyboard player and cannot rotate it). Be sure to stay in the middle of the arena.

General tip is to let them hit each other.

Also it's recommended to kill them both simultaneously and not let any one of them enter second phase (grab the second sword).

Each of them can enhance their weapon if you stay away from them. But you can cancel it just by 3-4 attacks or let their brother hit the enhancer. (might be complicated to put in words but I'll demonstrate it in the video)

The best strategy is royal guard, but personally I prefer swordmaster.

And also I recommend using cerberus to parry them (5-6 parries = KO for a short time - check out the gif). But be careful because when they summon their sword back and you stay in its way - you get hit.

Recommended Devil Arm: cerberus (has increased damage against Agni).

"Reunion"

No tips here, because this fight is your motivation test.

Heart of Leviathan

Best strategy for SS run is royal guard because if you utilize DT bomb correctly you get a lot of red orbs (I personally remember getting A rank on orbs due to lacking 100 orbs).

The thing is while the heart is executing laser attack it takes way more damage, even Ebony&Ivory can deal massive dmg (check out the gif).

Left organ takes more damage from cerberus.

Right organ takes more damage from Agni&Rudra (and overall has less hp then the left one)

The heart takes slightly more damage from nevan.

Important note: every 10 second right organ sucks out your DT gouge but even one E&I bullet can prevent it.

Also you can perform spin attack on the poles (the same can be done in the club).

Arachne (regular demon)

Everything stated below applies to both arachne and queen arachne (fat green ones).

Recommended Devil Arm: Agni&Rudra.

The best tip is to kill them all on low HP with DT bomb.

They take more damage and their armor (knockback/stun values) breaks faster when attacked from behind ("spider abdomen"...), check out the gif.

Also they can block your attack.

The most annoying thins is that they have one silent attack (literally without any sound) - spider web shot.

But when arachne in DT (purple aura) it's useless to try knockback it.

As for style - up to you (I prefer swordmaster or trickster, but royal guard is pretty much effective as well)

Nevan
Such a deadly beauty.... one of my favourite fights.

Recommended Devil Arm: beowulf; cerberus (high damage increase).

You can charge almost every beowulf's attack. And if executed correctly, with just one full charge of "straight" (beowulf's forward attack) you can break her bat skirt, the same way as I did with cerberus on the gif.

There's a tight timing right after you break her bat skirt when you can (for example use Kalina Ann's shot) to make her fall on the ground (check out the gif) - she will be vulnerable for a longer period of time.

Also usually you can bait her for spin attack just by getting close to her.

Cerberus has highly increased damage against her... why you may ask?...because Nevan's hot, and cerberus's cold.

On low HP she will literally try to kiss you to the death, but if you pull your DT she won't be able to do it.

There're a lot of strategies - royal guard, trickster, quicksilver - so it's up to you. But I prefer swordmaster.

Our sweat-sweat "waifu weapon"
Beowulf

This fight and pre-battle cutscene is so badass i can't help but replay this fight again and again.

Alright, the most important thing you should know is his eye. Not only takes a lot of damage but also has special interrupt animation. (check out left gif) If you make lots of blows to the eye during the first phase beowulf kneels in KO for a short time.

Second tip is that you can throw back cages - deals a lot of damage. (Skills to throw back cages: hightime, rebellion throw, beowulf's "straight", etc.) (Second gif)

In the second phase beowulf starts new special attack (screams: "crush ya"), be aware that one cage always falls in front of beowulf and will be thrown at you.

In the third phase beowulf executes long range attack (screams: "Sparda!"), in order to avoid it run behind his back asap.

Beowulf is the easiest boss for royal guard practice. By the way if timed correctly during his ("I'll kill ya!") burst attack - perfect royal release literally deletes half of beowulf's HP.

But again I prefer swordmaster...

Geryon

Damned horse... but as always a lot of action in this fight.

Has two phases: first is on the bridge and the second's on the arena.

In First phase you can either deal required damage to enter the second phase or just wait until it destroy the bridge itself.

You can interrupt it if hit the head (for example beowulf's "killer bee"). If done right it falls on the ground and after that starts to rage. (check out the gif)

Interesting fact: you can cancel Geryon's time-stop with your quicksilver, check out the gif.

Also you can jump on its chariot and deal damage (ckeck out the gifs).

Takes increased damage from cerberus.

General tip - avoid blue fire attacks.

"Round two"

Not gonna give any tips once again, it's your own torture test.

Lady

Remember just one thing Lady's not a boss, she's a friend. And you need to stop her.... not to beat her up....

You can block her pistol shots with your own. (check out the gif)

Quicksilver is recommended, make sure not to let her enter second phase (when she throws the bombs).

Doppelganger

Face your inner demons, huh?

"While it lurks in the darkness it cannot be hit"

The easiest way to break/open the lanterns/blinds is rebellion's prop shredder attack (swordmaster).

As for strategy the most oblivious one is to break/open all the lanterns/blinds and give it a beating... Or you can kill it by deflecting the dark balls attack. (check out the gif).

Recommended Devil Arm: beowulf (high damage increase).

Abyss (regular demon)

I like the idea and the "Divine Comedy" reference.

Tip: use cerberus because it has increased damage against abyss.

Important note: if you just knockback it, abyss immediately performs charge attack, but if you slam it in a wall it just fall as regular 7 hell sins. (check out the gif)

Interesting fact: I was wondering about their design and found this in the artbook - check out the picture for creators comment... blood vessels, huh? - It's really creative decision in my opinion.

Arkham

Not much to say honestly...

The fastest strategy is quicksilver (requires lesser amount of circles to enter the second phase). But trickster is also an option.

Kalina Ann is the only thing that you need against his worms (legion).

But there is one problem: you need to understand when it is safe to use Kalina Ann. To tell you the truth - you just need to feel the timings. For example it's safe to shoot when they starting to spin; when they just appeared, when they just started moving in group etc.

Also I recommend using nevan's "reverb shock" (forward attack) to get some distance from the worms.

As for the second phase the safest method is to send Vergil in the vanguard while 'providing Spiral fire support" from behind.

Whenever you hear Arkham's scream start jumping and falling in order to dodge his range attacks (I'll demonstrate in the video).

"Screaming Souls"

You know... the title and preface of the mission are pretty much self-explanatory...

The only way to beat this mission - is to understand your own motivation and your reason for fighting.

Tip: "Cast off your pride and embrace your fate".

Requiem
Bless me, with the
Leaf off of the tree
On it, I see
The freedom reign

We are, falling
The light is calling
Tears inside me
Calm me down

Midnight's calling
Mist of resolving
Crown me, with the
Pure green leaf

Bless me, with the
Leaf off of the tree
On it, I see
The freedom reign

Praise to my father
Blessed by the water
Black night, dark sky
The devils cry~
