How to Collect all the Miniscule Nomes in Little Nightmares! *NO SPOILERS*
By TheHollowGuy
Ever see a tiny cone-headed creature dash across the screen and think, "Wait—was that supposed to happen?" Welcome to the world of Nomes, the most skittish, secretive little gremlins you'll ever try to hug. Much like those annoying collectables that scamper just out of reach, these elusive critters are entirely optional—technically. But let’s be honest: the moment you spot one, your brain instantly overrides all survival instinct and yells, “YES, CHASE IT!”

But there is more to these scuttling spirits than idle curiosity. Thirteen of them await the protagonist's embrace, hidden throughout the depths of the Maw, and finding each will unlock the bittersweet achievement aptly titled Little Lost Things. It is a quiet journey, one without roaring battles or thunderous applause—but make no mistake: as I've discovered the hard way, uncovering some of these Nomes is a feat of observation, intuition, and persistence.

And such, dear reader, is where I come in lol! This guide will serve as your candle in the dark. I’ve tracked each Nome’s skittering path, pried open every vent, and mapped the most obscure of crawlspaces—so you won’t have to wander aimlessly. Whether you're a returning guest of the Maw or daring to brave its horrors for the first time, I’ll be with you every step of the way, ensuring no Nome escapes your grasp. So take a deep breath. Step lightly. And keep your eyes open, for the Nomes are waiting

Preparation for the Inevitable – The Chase Begins Anew:
Greetings, brave wanderers of the Maw! In this guide, I’ll be helping you uncover the whereabouts of all 13 Nomes lurking in the darkest corners of Little Nightmares. These creatures may be small, but their knack for bolting into the walls the moment you so much as blink can turn a whimsical game of discovery into a tedious, full-time career in pest control.

There are no grand battles here—just a relentless, whispery game of hide-and-seek where you’re the one always two steps behind. But fret not! My aim is to make this elusive journey ever so slightly less maddening, so you can escape the constant cat-and-mouse chase and hug those tiny white hats in peace.

Throughout the creaking hulls of the Prison, the grimy depths of the Lair, the oppressive corridors of the Kitchen, and beyond! I shall unveil all the Nomes’ little bunkers—whether they’re sneakily wedged behind furniture, tucked away in vents, or brazenly standing in plain sight like they own the place. No hiding spot is sacred. No shadow too deep, and I assure you by the end of this guide you shall have all 13 Nomes whether they like it or not lmao! Let’s begin, before another Nome decides to vanish behind a vent forever, which on my watch I doubt will be happening!

The start of a silent pursuit – The Nome hunt begins:

Chapter 1: The Prison – Echoes, Locks, and Little White Hats
First Nome:

The first Nome can be located shortly after you exit the room with the hanging man. In the adjacent space, you’ll notice an old, rusted refrigerator. Open its door, and the sudden creak will startle a nearby Nome, sending it scurrying off-screen to the right and through a small opening in the wall. Follow its trail through the tunnel, and you’ll find yourself in a hidden room where the elusive creature pauses, perhaps waiting—or simply unaware it’s been followed. Approach and gently grab the Nome to give it a hug, marking your first step toward uncovering the secrets of the Maw.

Second Nome:

The second Nome awaits in the room where you first encounter the light puzzle. Begin by climbing to the top of the stacked cages and carefully walk across the upper row toward the right side of the screen. As you advance, keep an eye out—you’ll spot the Nome darting into a concealed tunnel below. Drop down and follow its trail through the narrow passageway. In the hidden room beyond, you’ll find the little fellow huddled in the corner, likely rethinking its life choices. Approach and give it a well-deserved hug—for both your sake in the riddled ambience and the Nomes sudden spike in blood pressure lmao!

Third Nome:

The third and final Nome of this chapter can be found in the office area—right after you shut off the electricity for the second time. Proceed through the gate into the next room. Once you light the lantern on the left, you’ll spot a Nome trapped inside a cage just behind it. Open the cage door, and the little guy will sprint back the way you came. Grab your lighter and follow its fleeing footsteps. You’ll find it skulking in the left corner of the room, probably plotting its next great escape—or just wondering why it ever trusted a stranger with a lighter. Either way, give it a hug before it changes its mind! ;)

And with that gnome collected, congratulations—you’ve found all three Nomes hiding within the prison. At this point, you’re well on your way to becoming a professional Nome hunter, mastering the art of patience, sharp eyes, and the occasional sprint. But don’t get too comfortable just yet. The skills you’ve honed here will be put to the ultimate test as we descend deeper into Chapter 2: where even stealthier Nomes lurk in shadows darker than you’ve faced so far. Ready your wits and steady your nerves—the hunt is far from over.

Chapter 2: The Lair – Where the Forgotten Hide and the Brave Pursue
First Nome:

Once again a total of three Nomes await your discovery in this chapter. The first reveals itself almost immediately after you begin. Ascend the flight of stairs into a cramped, office-like room. Push the chair onto the grimy, dirt-stained tile floor. This action should trigger a door to open on the right side of your screen—pull it wide and step through. In the next room, you’ll spot a large desk dominating the center. Dash behind it to startle a Nome into a frantic retreat. It will dart back into the office you just left, but beware—the shadows here are thick and merciless, making it devilishly hard to keep your eyes on the little escape artist. Chase it back through the office and down to the staircase you climbed earlier. If you played your cards right, the Nome will be waiting at the bottom, only to dart back up the stairs the moment you approach. Follow it up to the next platform, where it will finally pause in a corner, ready for that well-earned hug. Remember: patience is key here, and if you find yourself muttering threats at a tiny white hat, don’t worry—everyone has their breaking point. Even professional Nome hunters.

Second Nome:

The next Nome becomes available once the ever-persistent Janitor finally retreats after chasing you into the lever room. Locate the handle you found earlier on the ground and insert it into the mechanism mounted on the wooden pillar. Turning the handle will trigger a trapdoor to swing open on the floor to your right. Fair warning: that creaking noise will summon the Janitor back faster than you can say “Hide!”—so dive through the opening without hesitation. You’ll drop into a dark, narrow tunnel that leads you forward until you reach a small room with an abandoned suitcase. It’s pitch black here, so light your lighter and sneak behind the suitcase to spot the Nome lurking nearby. And remember: in tunnels this dark, the only thing worse than missing a Nome is running into the Janitor’s less-than-friendly embrace. So keep your wits sharp and your lighter lit.

There should be a ladder on the wall that will be a bit difficult to spot. Climb the ladder and once you reach the top, you should be able to spot your next Nome. As you move towards it, it will run away. Climb into the tunnel and follow it into the next room, where it will stop running. Then you can cast aside all worries and focus on the immediate priority... hugging the Nome lol.

Third Nome:

The third and final Nome for this chapter resides in the library—a room filled to the brim with dusty tomes and questionable architecture. Once inside, head to the back of the room where a large desk looms under the flickering gloom. Light your trusty lighter and crawl beneath the desk. This will spook a nearby Nome, who clearly wasn’t expecting surprise visitors. It will bolt toward the entrance of the room and hide behind a teetering stack of books. Approach carefully and knock the stack over—subtlety isn’t really an option here. With its hiding spot ruined and its heart likely pounding, the Nome will freeze long enough for you to approach and give it a comforting hug. At this point, you’ve probably startled more Nomes than the Janitor ever has—don’t be surprised if word starts spreading in the walls.

Well done—another trio of Nomes hugged and accounted for. You’ve braved the Janitor’s grotesque grasp, outmanoeuvred the shadows, and crept through tunnels darker than your average Monday morning. With all three Nomes from the Lair now behind you, your tracking instincts are sharpening, and your hug-delivery efficiency is approaching elite status. But don’t hang up your lighter just yet. Ahead lies Chapter 3: The Kitchen, where things get hotter, messier, and substantially more unsanitary. The chefs aren’t exactly Michelin-star material—unless the stars are for horror—and the Nomes? Let’s just say they’ve gotten really good at navigating tight corners and suspicious meat piles. Onward, Nome hunter. The chase continues.

Chapter 3: The Kitchen – Cleavers, Chaos, and Cone-Hatted Survivors
First Nome:

The first Nome in this chapter can only be found after you’ve retrieved the key from the room with the blissfully snoring Chef. Once you’ve dropped the key at the bottom of the stairs (without alerting your sleepy pursuer, hopefully), double back to the washroom you passed through earlier. In the far-left corner of the room, a lone Nome waits quietly in the shadows. It can be tricky to spot—so be sure to spark up your lighter and scan carefully. Approach it for the customary hug, and voilà: another step closer to Nome mastery. This marks the first of three Nomes in The Kitchen, and if you’ve been keeping up, you should now be seven hugs deep into your quest. Lucky seven—though something tells me the Maw’s luck doesn’t quite work like that.

Second Nome:

The second Nome can be found immediately after riding the elevator up with the key. Once you’ve dropped the key near the vent on the right side of the hallway (priorities, of course), head into the room on the left. There, on the floor, you’ll spot a suspiciously trembling brown jar. That’s not nerves—that’s your next Nome trying desperately to Houdini its way out. But fair warning: the moment you interact with it, things get loud... and the Chef doesn’t exactly take kindly to impromptu pottery smashing. Try to grab the jar cleanly on your first go—no juggling acts. Once you’ve got it, throw it against the ground or a nearby surface to shatter it, releasing the frightened Nome. Give it a quick hug before it can bolt, then immediately dive beneath the nearest shelf by the door and wait for the Chef’s visit to pass. Honestly, you just committed involuntary ceramic manslaughter to rescue a cone-headed gremlin. You deserve that hug more than it does.

Third Nome:

The third and final Nome in this chapter appears after you’ve once again given the Chefs the slip. Use the key you previously nabbed from the Chef’s room to unlock the padlock and step into the next area. Climb onto the table in the centre of the room, then use the nearby box against the wall to reach a vent above. Crawl through, and you’ll drop into a cluttered space dominated by a large, noisy-looking machine perched on the table. Now for the fun part—light your lighter and crouch beneath the table. Huddled in the shadows, you’ll find a Nome waiting for you, perhaps contemplating its life choices amidst all the industrial culinary horror. Give it a hug, and with that, the Kitchen’s Nome hunt comes to a close. At this point, you’ve probably spent more time crawling through vents and ducking under tables than the average health inspector. And frankly, you're doing a much better job lmao.

And with that, the Kitchen is cleared—not of its questionable stew, but of its scuttling, hat-wearing fugitives. You’ve survived scorching pans, butcher blocks, and chefs who apparently view personal space as a foreign concept. More importantly, you’ve rescued three more Nomes from lives spent dodging ladles and lurching limbs. There’s something oddly noble about what you’re doing: navigating filth, fear, and flying fish heads just to deliver hugs. It’s quietly heroic. Or slightly unhinged. Possibly both! Either way, take a moment to catch your breath—because the next chapter isn’t exactly a palate cleanser. But hey, at this rate, you’re only a few hugs away from opening a five-star Nome-ceiling spa and emotional wellness retreat. Michelin would be proud.

Chapter 4: The Guest Area – A Banquet of Gluttony and Scuttling Secrets
First Nome:

There are four Nomes to uncover in this grotesque parade of excess. The first can be found right at the start of the chapter. After you drop down onto the metal pipe, resist the urge to push forward and instead turn around. Behind you is a small, shadowy doorway—easy to miss if you’re charging ahead like you’ve just been invited to the buffet. Flick on your lighter (unless you're particularly confident in your ability to navigate pitch-black regrets) and slip through. Inside, you’ll find the final lantern of the game, casting a faint glow over your next tiny companion. Approach the Nome and give it a hug. That’s one down—three to go. And unlike the dinner guests ahead, this one won’t try to eat you. Probably.

Second Nome:

The next Nome awaits just beyond the chaos of clattering plates and swinging lanterns. After you’ve climbed the precarious stack of dishes and swung across to the next room, stick close to the right side and sprint forward until you spot a scurrying white hat, as is expected predominantly for all the Nomes you get near lol. Watch it dash behind a small stool at the far end of the room. Pull that stool toward you to reveal a hidden opening in the wall. Crawl through, and there you’ll find your next reluctant hug recipient. It’s almost like these Nomes are testing your dedication—or just really enjoy playing hide-and-seek with people who have questionable balance.

Third Nome:

The third Nome reveals itself after you’ve successfully dodged the Chef and ridden the elevator to the next floor. Just to your left, you’ll notice a door left slightly ajar—like someone forgot to close it properly (or didn’t want you to find what’s inside). Enter cautiously, lighter flicked on. Inside, one of the Guests lies fast asleep, blissfully unaware of the chaos around them, with a bucket resting on the floor beside them. Standing quietly next to this bucket is your next elusive Nome. Approach gently—no sudden moves. This one’s definitely not looking for a hug… yet! ;)

Fourth Nome:

The final Nome of this chapter—and indeed, the entire game—appears once you’ve narrowly escaped the horde of ravenous Guests chasing you. After you swing across the lantern and land safely on the other side, step into the next room. There, you’ll spot a Nome that darts off-screen, triggering Six’s all-too-real hunger pangs. Press onward through the following room, and you’ll find the Nome waiting patiently, clutching a sausage as if offering a peace treaty. Approach to take the sausage—but beware: in a twist befitting Little Nightmares, your character snatches the Nome instead. It’s an unsettling moment that unlocks the Little Lost Things achievement—signifying the end of your heartfelt (and slightly cannibalistic) Nome hunt.Congratulations. You’ve tracked, chased, and embraced every last one of these elusive little shadows. At this point, you’re basically the unofficial president of the Nome fan club—though I’m pretty sure the Nomes themselves are still trying to figure out how to get you banned.

The finalised revolution of the white-tipped escapade - A moment of respite!
And without further ado, all the gomes are safetly in your grasp lol, try not to let any of them away! XD Thank you for joining me on this quietly frantic journey through the shadowy corners and hidden crawlspaces of Little Nightmares. Crafting this guide has been a rewarding venture, and I hope it has helped illuminate your path through the Maw, turning the elusive Nomes from maddening mysteries into embraced companions. Each tiny shadow required sharp eyes, steady nerves, and perhaps a little exasperated sigh—but that only makes the eventual hug all the sweeter.

If this guide has been as useful as a flickering lighter in a pitch-black vent, I’d be honoured if you left a thumbs-up or rating. Your support fuels the creation of more guides to help hunters like you conquer the most secretive corners of gaming’s darkest realms. And if you’re feeling especially generous, an award would be like finding a Nome’s secret stash—unexpected, deeply appreciated, and frankly, a bit magical.

Now, with every last Nome hugged and the Little Lost Things achievement unlocked, you’ve earned the unofficial title of Master Nome Hunter. Just remember: in the grand game of hide-and-seek, you’re the one who always wins… until the Nomes decide to get revenge by hiding your keys lmao!

I sincerly hope you enjoyed the detailed guide of all those surreptitious Nomes, and trust me the arduous white-hatted escapade of finding 13 Nomes without a guide like I did, is not the path to indulge in, I learnt such out the hard way lmao :thor_lul:
