Want to practice surf maps without the pressure of public servers or PvP? This guide will walk you through everything you need to know to play surf maps locally on vanilla server.

Some websites where you can find surf maps to download:
Or simply join some public surf server just to download map.
Start a Local Server
  1. Launch CS 1.6
  2. Click "New Game"
  3. Select your surf map
  4. Start the server

In addition, I suggest to set some additional settings like increasing round time or starting money:

Set Surf-Friendly Settings
Open the console (~) and paste the following commands:

sv_airaccelerate 1000;sv_stepsize 240

Note: sv_stepsize exact value may depend on map's jail size, if you cannot leave cage on some map, try to increase sv_stepsize value.
