About
The PC version of Grand Theft Auto San Andreas lacks many graphical effects and content that are present in the original game released for Playstation 2. This is due to bugs and creative decisions by Rockstar Games.

This guide aims to list recommended mods to bring to the PC version of GTA SA this missing graphical effects and content present in the PS2 version, in addition to bringing the improvements present in the Xbox, Mobile and Definitive Edition versions. Also includes fixes, adds support for controller with vibration and quality of life features.

There are several incredible mods for GTA SA that improve the game in different aspects, but in this list I decided to only choose mods that bring improvements equal or inspired to those made by Rockstar in each version of GTA SA (Xbox, Mobile and Definitive Edition). So consider this a minimalist list.

There are some exceptions that are few mods that bring quality of life features.

I apologize for the simplicity of the guide.

But If you found this guide helpful, please consider leaving a like.
Why not make a modpack?
There are a few reasons why I didn't decide to make a modpack:

  • Some mods receive updates, so it's not always possible to keep the modpack updated at the same pace as the mod authors.
  • To download a new version of a modpack, you have to download the entire modpack again. This is a problem for those with slow internet speeds or limited internet connection.
  • Modpacks often have their downloads taken down.
  • Some modders don't allow their mods to be reuploaded and included in modpacks.

I think it's important to respect modders, as they use their free time to develop amazing mods for free download.
Mods list
I'll be listing the mods by category. Check the posts and the readme files that come with the mod download for installation instructions.

Note: Always use ModLoader to install mods whenever it's supported.

Downgrader

Steam to V1 Downgrader[community.pcgamingwiki.com]: A program that will downgrade your game to version 1.0, restoring songs from the radio that were removed. It is extremely necessary to downgrade your game before installing mods as most mods only work on that version of the game.
GTASnP[gtasnp.com]: A website where you can convert your save from the Steam version to version 1.0. Check out the instructions on how to do this here[pastebin.com].

Essentials

Launcher[www.mixmods.com.br]: A launcher that makes it possible for the Steam overlay to work on the modded game, including counting hours played. Also has support for SA-MP and MTA in case you want to install them in the future.

Noise Fix[www.mixmods.com.br]: Removes the rain noise effect.

Hello @Kazma, yes. I was planning to update it, but I've been getting a lot of reports that the link wasn't working. Many times in the past, when that guide was up, the links were also taken down. Also, while searching for better mods to include, I came across some mods whose authors didn't allow reuploading or inclusion of their mods in modpacks. So I thought the right thing to do would be to create a new guide, gathering these mods but posting their original downloads or uploaded to authorized sites with their respective instructions. I don't see these links being taken down, so this way it's more stable for those who want to download them.

Hello @juice, I usually set the modloader.ini priorities like this:

Essentials > HD > Fixes > Quality of life

The default settings are already good but if you want you can change them to your liking.

Isn't this the Enhanced Edition Plus or whatever it was called? I don't understand why it got taken down

Hey, here are the steps I have followed. Looking for feedback or further suggestions.

Prerequisites:
- Downgraded to v1.0.

Essentials:
- Installed Essentials Pack (minus Launcher & GInput).
- Installed Launcher & GInput manually.
- Set ControlsSet=2 in GInput.
- Removed Windowed Mode (game didn’t launch).

Fixes:
- Installed fixes under modloader\Fixes .
- Swapped skygfx2.ini & skygfx1.ini .

HD:
- Installed HD mods under modloader\HD .
- Installed Ped Spec in scripts .
- Installed HD Movies in movies .
- Added Weapon Icons TXD , manually loading nadalao’s WeaponIcons.txd .

Quality of Life:
- Installed all QoL mods under modloader\Quality of Life .

Questions:
1. Should ModLoader priorities be adjusted for compatibility or optimal load order?
2. Any mod settings I should tweak from their defaults?
