Complete achieviment guide for "Who Needs a Hero?"
By Marcovsq
If you're aiming to platinum "Who Needs a Hero?" this guide will be your companion throughout your journey!
The platinum is fairly easy, with some achievements requiring a lot of grind. However, more than half of them are unlocked just by playing, and only a few are missable. We'll talk more about them as the guide progresses... And no, the DLC is not required for 100%. The game is already "sus" enough on its own.
Good luck!

Introduction
Who Needs a Hero? is an action RPG made by the brazilian dev: Henrique Faitta Chitolina (FALA MEUS MANO, SE QUISEREM UM GUIA EM PT, PODEM DEIXAR AÍ NOS COMENTÁRIOS) where your choices truly matter, influencing both the story and the world around you. Whether you're helping NPCs or making decisions in the heat of battle, every action shapes your journey. The game is split into two major parts: Adventure Mode and Saga of the Gods.

  • Adventure Mode is the main campaign where you'll progress through the story, face various challenges, and unlock most of the achievements. It serves as the core of the game, and much of your time will be spent here as you work through quests and make decisions that impact your character and the world.
  • Saga of the Gods is unlocked after reaching level 120 and introduces a new storyline with additional battles, interactions, and achievements. This mode provides an exciting new layer to the game, offering fresh content and a deeper experience after you've completed the main Adventure Mode.

Throughout both modes, your decisions play a critical role. Some choices will unlock key achievements, while others might lock you out of specific rewards. This guide will help you navigate both Adventure Mode and Saga of the Gods, ensuring that you unlock every achievement along the way.
Adventure infinity mode events
As mentioned before, many of the achievements are pretty straightforward and are completed during the main story. However, it's important to pay attention and avoid selecting any dialogue options that might prevent them from happening, so you can make the most of your time.

Am I a hero?

One of the first decisions in the game: choose to help the elf girl.

Killing spree!

Defeat 5 enemies.

I know how to use a sword!

Defeat 15 enemies.

You saved the Kingdom! (MISSABLE⚠️⚠️)
To unlock this achievement, you must defeat the final boss of Act 1. Be careful, if you die to him, the game will continue, and you won't be able to earn this achievement in that run. Pay attention at the end of the tournament and make sure to have plenty of items in your inventory.

Sword and Armors

This section covers all the opportunities the main campaign gives you to upgrade your sword/armor. Pay attention: when it comes to swords, it doesn’t matter how much gold you have, if an upgrade is available, always go for it. Even if you don’t have enough gold at the moment, the game will still allow the upgrade and your gold balance will simply go negative.

WOW! I’m a swordsman now!

Become a Swordsman.

My first sword!

Buy your first sword with the blacksmith.

WOW! I’m a knight now!

Become a knight with the class master.

A better sword!

The GREATEST sword

Gey your last upgrade with the blacksmith.

Extras
Here are a few more achievements that can be unlocked throughout your playthrough.

Shonleng
To summon Shonleng, you’ll need to collect all seven Dragon Balls. These special items can be obtained randomly by opening the floating boxes that appear throughout your gameplay.
It can be done at any point in the game. Once you’ve gathered all seven, place them on the floor of your house and see what happens.

Drugged Hero!

Accept the mushroom from the merchant.

Drunk Hero

There are plenty of opportunities to drink, whether it's with the Lumberjack, with Helga, or even with Zoro.

Treasure Hunter! (MISSABLE⚠️⚠️)
Buy a treasure map! You will have this option to buy the map from the fisherman when you start the game, but of course, because you just started you do not have 1000 gold coins. So, you just need to hope that after gathering 1000 gold coins, he will use that dialogue choice again

Kill the giant (MISSABLE⚠️⚠️)
No matter what choices you make with the alchemist, he will start creating giants. Make sure to sponsor him at least once to make the giant spawn. After you meet the giant, you cannot fight him, and he will steal some of your coins. Now you need to hope to meet the death knight. He will offer to kill the giant for you if you give him some followers. Do that, and you will meet him a few days later, and he will give you the giant toe.

Level progression
With each passing day in the game, you gain 1 level.
The progression is natural, and most of the achievements in this section can be unlocked simply by finishing the game.

Level 10!

Reach level 10.

Level 20!

Reach levell 20.

Level 50!

Reach level 50.

Level 100!

Reach level 100.

Level 150!

Reach level 150.

Level 500!
Reach level 500. By the time you finish the game, you'll typically be around level 200–300. So this is the most grind-heavy section of the game. I recommend becoming as strong as possible by using every resource available, armor, swords, house upgrades, and the best pet you can get.
You’ll get so strong that you won’t even need to look at the screen, just keep spamming the spacebar and the "N" key. But be careful: if you go this route, make sure not to die by not looking at the screen! This will be defineiely your last achievement.
Gold coins
  • Many NPCs will ask for money, so be mindful of how much you can afford to help while still keeping your eyes on the ultimate goal of reaching 10,000 gold. Balance your generosity with your long-term objectives.
  • Try not to spend your gold with the merchant.

I'm rich now!

Earn a 1,000 gold.

What do I buy?

Earn 5,000 gold.

I'll buy an island!

Earn 10,000 gold.
Followers
  • Be a hero! Try to make decisions that help people, as this will cause your counter to increase progressively,
  • Don't use your followers in the black market until you reach the final goal of 500 followers.

You have a party!

Earn 10 followers.

They like you!

Earn 100 followers.

They love you!

Earn 500 followers.
Rubies
At the beginning of the game, when you interact with the dwarf, he will unlock the mine, which passively generates rubies for you depending on the upgrades you invest in. Here's how the system works:

To mine rubies, you need to click on the stone to break it. Each time you break a stone, you earn one ruby and descend one level deeper into the mine, to mine faster, invest in upgrading the dwarf’s pickaxe. This greatly increases mining speed and makes ruby farming more efficient over time.

In my opinion, rubies are the most valuable resource in the game—both because of how difficult they are to obtain and the rewards they offer. With rubies, you can purchase powerful items like weapons, hairstyles, pets, gold, followers, and fame.
Among all these options, the Ancient Dragon pet is the most important for your run. It grants you a special one-hit-kill attack every three battles, which becomes incredibly helpful in harder fights and essencial for some achievements later on.

How to Farm Rubies Efficiently

The honest way to farm rubies is by:

  • Saving a decent amount of gold
  • Investing in the dwarf’s skills and mining upgrades
  • Helping the dwarf manually by clicking on the stones

However, ruby farming can get extremely grindy, to the point of being frustrating. For this reason, I recommend using an auto-clicker to assist with breaking the stones and speeding up the process.

⚠️ Important Tip: Farming rubies early in your run can make a big difference, but it also significantly reduces the game’s difficulty. For a more balanced experience, I suggest saving your ruby grind for after completing the Adventure Mode. The Saga of the Gods is much more challenging, and the Ancient Dragon will be a huge asset during that phase.

Saga of the Gods events
This is the second story mode in the game, where you go up against the gods themselves.

The difficulty increases significantly, so make sure you're well-prepared before entering. Strong gear, high-level upgrades, and a reliable pet (like the Ancient Dragon) are highly recommended to survive the tougher encounters ahead.

Necromancy

To unlock this achievement, you’ll need to place the skull in the center of the pentagram inside your house.

  • The pentagram becomes available when the Death Knight makes you promise not to mess with dark magic. No matter which dialogue option you choose, you'll receive the item.
  • The skull can be obtained by looting any grave while playing in Saga of the Gods mode.

Unfair battles

Throughout the Saga of the Gods, you'll come across a few unfair, overpowered "boss fights",the kind that aren't meant to be beaten through normal gameplay. These enemies, meet in mid/late-game events, are designed with 999 HP and dmg, making them nearly impossible to defeat with basic stats or casual builds.

These fights are intentionally unbalanced, and the only viable way to win is by using one of three powerful methods:

  • Ancient Dragon Ability
If you’ve unlocked the Ancient Dragon pet, it grants a special one-hit-kill ability every 3 battles, which can instantly defeat the Ice Dragon.
  • Devour Sword (Upgraded) Ability
You can obtain the Devour Sword by defeating the Act 1 boss. Once you have it, feed it 2,500 followers to unlock its upgraded form, which is powerful enough to kill the Ice Dragon.
  • Stacking Damage Buffs
As a last resort, you can use a large number of damage-boosting items during the fight. You’ll need to buff your damage high enough to overcome the Ice Dragon’s 999 HP in one go.

I personally recomend the Ancient Dragon

Dragon Slayer (MISSABLE⚠️⚠️)
This is a one-time event that occurs when the Ice Dragon appears in the snow biome. When you encounter him, make sure to select all the dialogue options that provoke a fight, that’s the only way to trigger the battle. This happens mid Saga of the Gods, so be prepared, with one of the three methods.

Wanted - Dead or Alive
To unlock this achievement, you won’t need the Conqueror’s Haki.. Don’t worry! The achievement is triggered when the Mimic (the talking chest) and its family suggest that you hunt down a pirate who’s been causing trouble. After that conversation, just be patient, Zoro will eventually find his way to you (You probably will find him first lmao). Use one of the three methods and you're good to go!

Knight of the Empty Throne
No one knows exactly what triggers the Igris encounter, but after you finish the Saga of the Gods campaign, you’ll eventually find yourself in a dark, unfamiliar castle, a location that doesn't appear at any other point in the game. This is one of the final challenges in the game, and one of the last achievements. Defeat him using one of the three methods and you’ll unlock it.

Karma

Karma is a mechanic introduced in the Saga of the Gods campaign. It essentially judges your actions throughout the game and reflects your moral alignment.

  • If you make good choices. Helping NPCs, showing mercy, and acting selflessly, your Karma will increase.
  • If you make selfish or harmful choices, such as stealing, refusing help, or exploiting others, your Karma will decrease.

In addition to your choices, there are weapons in the Ruby Shop that can help you increase or decrease your Karma meter.

Angel on Earth

Increase your karma meter to 50+

Pure Evil

Decrease your karma meter to 50-
