Description
Jusblazm's Vanilla Bandits
This mod provides Bandits wearing base game (or vanilla) clothes!

I wrote a script to generate random bandits wearing base game (or vanilla) clothing. Due to the random-factor of the script and the amount of clothes almost all the bandits may look weird.

Clans added are meant to be seen and enjoyed, so by default they have a large window of settings. Feel free to modify to your liking, however be aware that settings will revert on every update*.
*If you really want to adjust the settings and keep them permanent, you can save your custom clan settings in your local Zomboid file. It should always overwrite the mod, since local is loaded last. For details on how to do this please visit my GitHub from the link at the bottom.

Multi Mod
This is a multi mod! After installing, you can choose to enable as many or as few mods as you would like! They do not interfere with each other. Currently available is RANDOM, which provides 60 randomly generated bandits wearing vanilla clothing. And HANDCRAFTED, which adds a few different groups of bandits all made by me. These groups all have different clan settings and spawn amounts. My random clans continue to be friendly, but some clans in the handcrafted category are now hostile.

Updates
I plan to release a new update on the 2nd of each month. This update will replace the current batch of bandits with a brand new batch. This will not harm your saves, nor will it affect currently spawned bandits. Freshly spawned bandits will be wearing gear according to the new list. This will provide some, hopefully noticeable change to extended saves.

This mod has a slightly higher chance to break than my other integration mods, due to the fact that I had to extend some Bandits NPC functionality with equipment slots not yet added by Slayer. I put some securities into the extension for some predictable updates that may come, so that if Bandits makes my extension redundant, it hopefully will not cause issues. However, much like my other integration mods, if Bandits or Project Zomboid update and modify item definitions, this mod will likely break.

Future Plans
  • Lore bandits

Handcrafted Bandits
These are bandits dressed / created by me and not my randomized script. It is highly unlikely they will be deleted or changed, but more will be added as updates come! Some clans may be hostile! You have been warned.

Compatibility
Absolutely no mod conflicts with two caveats:
  • someone uses my naming convention for their own integration.
  • A unique ID generates a dupe (Wikipedia: the probability to find a duplicate within 103 trillion version-4 UUIDs is one in a billion)

Known Issues
There are a lot of vanilla clothing items and only 60 characters generated each month. Some clothing items might not be seen anytime soon.

GitHub Archive
I will be keeping an archive of each update's bandits.txt and clans.txt files, so that if there is a set you really like, you can continue to use them even after the mod updates and moves away from them.

Permissions
I created a simple extension for Bandits NPC that allows bandits to wear the missing equipment slots provided by Project Zomboid. Slayer's Bandits NPC reads the text files. Bandits NPC has the default permissions of Credit where it's due, so I am extending their permissions. Be sure to credit them for their hard work. [theindiestone.com]

thats the problem there is alot of problems with slayers mod because he hasn't updated it thru all the updates, i mean i played with it and i liked it but there was multiple problems zombies freezing, ok they literally dont move, in some cases, others flying around in the air, and eventually the game just crashed. tell slayer to update his mod.

To modify the clans, you will need Slayer's Bandits Creator mod. With it installed and activated, you'll see a new option in the main menu.

i dont see how to modify the clan settings.

The random submod clan is set to be friendly/companions and assault is unchecked so they will be friendly. Inside the handcrafted submod, the only hostile clan is the criminals, at the moment. You can freely modify the clan settings however you'd like if you want more hostile groups. I have a few more hostile groups in the works that will be released soonish.

If I used this with Bandits: Week One would there just be a bunch of angry armed men running around shooting people at the start? Cause honestly i'm down for it if thats the case.
