Just wanted to give an update..
I figured it out, it was a formatting problem, probably should've looked at the file a little closer.

I don't mess with these types of things too much, I did so on this instance because the rng kept giving me explosives which made things rather difficult and everytime I got one I lost because I'd either run out of them or accidentally blow myself up.
Because I'm assuming that you have to get kills with that specific "prototype" to progress the mission.

Yes. You will need to do it again. Ig you made a syntax error. Like forgot a comma or smth like this. You can send what in your json file and i will try to find a error

Would that reset the list though and I'd need to redo it?

I wonder what I did wrong then.
Invalid weapons in the list perhaps?
Should I make sure that the list only contains weapons that show up in the Map Sweepers but menu?

Ig you just made a syntax error at json file. Try to just delete your file. Addon will create new automaticaly

Oh and I did try to update the blacklist using the command, but I still get that error.

I currently can't play the Field Trials mission, because everytime I try to dispense a prototype weapon I get this error...

I did manually edit the weapon blacklist, and I double checked that I did it right before posting this.
I have the internal weapons names written like this... {"weapon_smg1":true}
That was just an example ofc.
