[Guide] Chapter 2: Beyond the Noise

Welcome to Chapter 2 of Luto. The walkthrough begins the moment you descend through the trapdoor at the end of Chapter 1. If the first part gave you a hint that something was seriously off… brace yourself. Sam is about to face an even more unsettling reality.

The nightmare starts...


The chapter begins in complete darkness. Use the directional button to move downward. The narrator will comment that it might not be a good idea. Keep going until a door appears ahead. Interact with it to open and proceed.



Continue down the dimly lit hallway. A second door will come into view ahead. Interact with it to open, and step through to enter a new house.



The door directly ahead is sealed with wooden boards. You won’t be able to enter until you acquire a tool to remove them. In the same room, look at the floor — there’s a clock you can examine.




Turn to the right and approach the coffee table. Pick up the Sketchbook Sheet resting on top. Just below the table, take note of the clock positioned on the floor.



From the current area, move left and enter the first door on your left. Inside the room, you’ll see three ghost-like figures. Approach the stack of cardboard boxes to pick up a Word Card resting on top.



Walk down the hallway until you reach a door that’s slightly ajar. Attempt to open it, but it won’t budge — something is obstructing it from the other side.



Return to the coffee table area. Look for a passageway heading to the right — follow it to continue.



In the passageway, turn left to find a strange mirror. It has a built-in TV screen displaying the number 1.



Continue moving along the passageway and head down the staircase. You’ll enter a new room. The narrator will mention the presence of a hole somewhere within this space.



As you approach the staircase to go down, stop and turn around. Look behind the stacked crates — there’s a hidden clock partially tucked away. Make sure to note its position.



As you descend the stairs, look to your left about halfway down. The hole the narrator mentioned is there. Inside, you’ll find a Word Card — interact with it to collect it. Look upward toward the chandelier in the room. Hanging from it is a hammer. You’ll need this tool to unlock the barred room from earlier.



Approach the ladder nearby and inspect the note attached to it. Open your inventory to examine the note's contents — it advises seeking help before acting on your own. This serves as a clue for the puzzle needed to unlock access to the hammer.



Go through the door at the bottom of the staircase. Once inside, the path will split — one corridor leads left, the other leads right.



From the door at the bottom of the stairs, head left down the hallway. You’ll come across a locked glass door emitting blue light. On your left side, look carefully behind a vase on the floor — there’s a clock hidden there. Make note of its position.



Continue forward until you reach another locked room with a white door. Surrounding the door are seven clock symbols. Make note of this — it’s likely related to the clocks you’ve encountered throughout the chapter.



Approach the white door and interact with the peephole. Inside, you’ll spot a monkey along with the number 1 displayed.



Step back from the peephole and continue down the corridor. Eventually, you’ll reach a bathroom. Inside, you’ll see a broken mirror — it closely resembles the one found in your house during Chapter 1.



Turn right and enter the bathroom. Inside, locate the bathtub — there’s a clock submerged in the water. Interact with the clock and its hands will freeze. Take note: it stops exactly at 5 o’clock.



Head back to the location where the hallway originally split into left and right paths. As you walk past the white door with the seven clock symbols, observe closely — one of those symbols will now be marked off.

To complete the puzzle, you must locate the remaining six clocks scattered throughout the house and interact with each one. Every time you activate a clock, one of the symbols around the white door will get marked off. Once all seven clocks have been activated — including the one in the bathtub — the white door will unlock.



Move into the right-hand section of the area. On a small table, you’ll see a phone — approach it. Pick up the Sketchbook Sheet placed on the tabletop and inspect it in your inventory.
[Puzzle] Telephone Number


Inspect the various writings posted on the Bulletin Board nearby. Look for a sticky note next to the phone that reads: “Looking for help?” Recall the message from the ladder's note earlier — it said to ask for help before acting alone. Now examine the main clue written on the Bulletin Board: 555 – F A D B. To solve the phone puzzle and retrieve the hammer, you’ll need to decode this clue. Open your Sketchbook and refer to the following pages:




Page 10: Lists the letter names.

Pages 11 and 12: Show associated images and numbers.

Correlate each letter to the correct number from its image:

F corresponds to Reflection → Mirror with number 1

A is The Big Lie → Monkey with number 1

D is The Hidden Ghost → Ghost marked number 2 was missing

B is The Drowned Hour → Bathtub clock stopped at 5



Pick up the phone and dial 555-1125. Once the number is entered, press the SOS button. A loud thud will echo through the house — this signals that something has dropped.

Head back to the room with the chandelier. You’ll now find the hammer on the ground beneath it. Pick it up — this tool will help you access the previously blocked door.

And the nightmare continues.
Return to the chandelier room. The hammer is now lying on the ground beneath it — left behind after that loud thud you heard earlier. Approach and pick it up — this is the key tool to break open the barred door you encountered near the start of the chapter.



After retrieving the hammer from the chandelier room, make your way back to the section of the house with the phone. Once there, look upward — between two wooden beams, there’s a hidden clock tucked into the ceiling space. Interact with it to register its time and progress the puzzle. Then, continue forward through the hallway and descend the stairs on your right to reach a new area.



Enter the room at the bottom of the stairs. On your right, there’s a chair with a clock placed on it — interact with it to progress the puzzle. Once done, go through the door inside this room. You’ll arrive back at the starting area, where you first saw the barred door.



Head back to the barred wooden door from earlier in the chapter. Now that you’ve acquired the hammer, interact with each of the four nailed points on the wooden boards. Sam will pry them loose one by one. Once all four nails have been removed, push the door open and step inside.



Open the now-unbarred door and step inside. On the ground, you’ll find a clock — interact with it to register its time. Nearby, pick up the Sketchbook Sheet featuring a drawing of two monkeys and inspect it in your inventory.

Now, interact with the following remaining clocks:

The one under the coffee table where you first entered.

The one above the staircase, seen earlier near the crates.

The one opposite the glass door with the blue light.

Once all clocks are activated, return to the room with the white door surrounded by clock symbols. The door will now unlock, allowing you to enter.



Step inside the now-unlocked white door. On the wall ahead, you’ll see the phrase: “A Lie Multiplies 7 Times” — this is your key hint for solving the blue light glass door puzzle later. Approach the chair beside the radio and collect the note resting on it. Be sure to inspect it in your inventory. Just above, hanging from a ladder, is a Monkey doll — grab it and store it.



Take a fresh look at the clue from the white room: “A Lie Multiplies 7 Times.” Recall that Drawing A in your Sketchbook is titled “The Big Lie”, and it was previously tied to the number 1 — based on the monkey image from the peephole. Now you need to multiply that number by 7 → 1 × 7 = 7

Return to the phone and repeat the original sequence used to get the hammer:

F: 1 (mirror reflection)

A: 7 (multiplied from original 1)

D: 2 (missing ghost number)

B: 5 (bathtub clock)

Final sequence for the phone is: 555–1725 Dial this number and press the SOS button.



After hanging up the phone, turn left toward the hallway illuminated by blue light. A ghostly figure stands silently at the far end. Stay calm and ignore it — walk steadily toward the glass door. As you approach, the figure will suddenly begin to move toward you. At that moment, sprint down the hallway. Objects will start falling — shelves tipping, paintings crashing, debris scattering — adding tension to your escape. Keep running toward the door at the far end.



Chase the toy car as it rolls down the eerie hallway. Keep pace — it’s subtly guiding you. It will come to a stop in front of an open door. Step through to enter the next area.



Walk through the door ahead. On the left-hand table, you’ll spot a Sketchbook Sheet — pick it up and inspect the drawing. Then proceed through the next door straight ahead to enter a new area.



Descend the staircase ahead to reach a new hallway. On your left, you’ll enter another bathroom. Inside, approach the sink — there’s a note resting on its edge. Pick it up and inspect its contents in your inventory. The writing may offer new insight into Sam’s past or hint at what’s coming next.



Step out of the bathroom and take a few cautious steps forward. Suddenly, an object drops to the ground in the hallway ahead. Approach it slowly — you'll spot a strange, glinting Gold Coin emerging from the fallen item. As you move closer to pick it up, a ghost lunges at you, launching a terrifying jump scare. The screen immediately turns black, plunging Sam into unconsciousness.



After the ghost attack plunges everything into darkness, you'll be prompted to choose a dialogue option. Select whichever response feels right — this part is mostly atmospheric, and leads into a brief cutscene that expands Sam’s emotional state. As the scene fades out, Sam will wake up in a cave, surrounded by eerie echoes and flickering shadows.



Keep walking through the eerie cave, the atmosphere charged with mystery and unease. Shadows flicker, whispers echo — but press forward. Eventually, the cave will give way to a barren, surreal desert landscape. Take a few steps into it, and the screen will fade completely to black. When vision returns, Sam finds himself back at the familiar setting: the broken bathroom mirror in his house — just as it appeared in Chapter 1.
