Tips For Having Fun In R6SX

Introduction
Are you like me?

Do you get back after 18 hours down in the coal mines looking forward to a game of siege X?

Does it only take 15 minutes of playing siege X to make you wish you had a cave-in at the mines instead?

Millions of families suffer every year at the hands of Ubisoft and fellow siege X players.

You could be next.

That is, unless you're reading this guide. You have taken the first step into turning those few painful hours of misery into a mediocre evening of love/hate gaming.
Chapter I - Mindset

“Tension is who you think you should be. Relaxation is who you are.”
- Ancient Chinese Proverb

The most obvious yet most important part about having fun in any game is your expectation.
Anyone that has worked in customer service can tell you how important managing expectations can be, let me give you an example;

If I hit someone, then tell them I just hit them, they're going to be angry.
If I tell someone I'm going to hit them, and then hit them, they knew it was coming so can't be angry.

Now imagine yourself as both the assailant and the victim. You can apply this to yourself when launching siege X.
Tell yourself you're going to get kicked in the balls so you can't be angry when it happens, only then can you start to appreciate the games where you don't get a foot to the nuts.

Expect to have a bad time, appreciate when you're not.
Chapter II - Self-Matchmaking™

“He who reigns within himself, and rules passions, desires, and fears, is more than a king.”
- Meowskulls

I present to you my own patent-pending method for dealing with the terrible matchmaking across all gamemodes (Excluding ranked).

Self-Matchmaking

Self-Matchmaking™ revolutionises R6SX by putting control BACK into the player's hands and it couldn't be simpler to get started!
  • Cheaters/bots/sweats in your game?
  • Lobotomised teammates?
  • Bad map?

Just leave!
Why stay in a game that's just going to stress you out when there are 0 repercussions for leaving? Just roll the dice again, 15th time's the charm!

As petty as it may seem this is probably the biggest thing more people need to do if they want to avoid rage-quitting after 2 bad games. Until the numerous problems are fixed, don't subject yourself to unfun games, what's the point?
Chapter IV - Don't Try So Hard

“I guess I've been working so hard, I forgot what it's like to be hardly working.”
- Michael Snott

People that focus on winning don't have fun. You need to focus on the journey and not the destination.
I've dubbed these people "TrySoHards" because they're always trying so hard to win.
You have a full-time job or you don't really play shooters that much, you're not going to be able to match the skill-level of someone who's full-time job IS siege so why bother?

Find enjoyment in the smaller things in a game, celebrate every frag, try new operators or a different playstyle, laugh at your own mistakes. At the end of the day winning gets you nothing and most of the time you're not going to win anyway, don't rely on a bit of text at the end of the game to dictate how you play.
Chapter V - Friends!

“岁寒知松柏,患难见真情。”
- 孔子

Whether it be goofing around or going for the win, friends make everything better.
If you're having a bad time, and your friend is having a bad time, it cancels out and you have a good time sharing in misery together!

Siege is free now, and Ubisoft need more legit players more than ever so guilt-trip everyone you know into downloading the game and playing with you.
Chapter VI - Switch It Up

“…”
- Link, The Legend of Zelda

Remember to switch it up every now and again.

Not having fun in quick match? Try dual front.
Not having fun in dual front? Try ranked.
Not having fun in ranked? Try the event.
No event on? Do literally anything else.

If non of the gamemodes are tickling your fancy, take it as a sign to put the game down.
Come back in a day or two, you'll get your mojo back.
Chapter VII -

Epilogue - Plan B

Ladies and gentlemen, the moment you've all been waiting for...

Uninstall the game.

Thank you, and goodnight.
Footnote
Matchmaking and the cheating actually sucks.

We need an operation health 2.0.
